Chapter 300: The Incident in the Girls' Bathroom
Chapter 300: The Incident in the Girls' Bathroom
"Congratulations to those whose names I have called out. You have made it to the top sixteen."
Albert rolled up the parchment and addressed the crowd, "The next round of the tournament will be held at the end of next month, just before Easter. We will notify you in advance if there are any changes to the schedule."
"Will the champion be decided next month?" someone asked.
"Well, I can't be sure. It depends on how the tournament progresses," Albert replied, gesturing for everyone to disperse and not crowd the area.
"When will the new cards be available?"
Many students were eyeing the Wizarding Cards in Albert's hands, which were far superior to the crude cards they currently had. It was enough to make them envious.
"The Wizarding Cards are still being improved and refined. We need time to perfect them," Albert reassured them. "It will probably be next year before they can be introduced."
"We have to wait until next year?"
Many students immediately looked dejected. Most students had limited patience, and a long wait like this would be torturous for them.
Albert answered a few more questions before preparing to make his escape. He didn't want to be cornered with more inquiries, as he wasn't used to such attention.
In the corridor, Lee Jordan gritted his teeth and muttered, "Who exactly is making things difficult for us?"
"Marcus Flint!" Albert suddenly exclaimed.
"Marcus Flint?" Fred and George frowned in unison.
"Marcus Flint must have guessed that you two were behind the incident last time, so he's deliberately using this to get back at us," Albert shared his speculation with his roommates.
Filch didn't possess Occlumency, and his mind held few secrets from Albert. After extracting the answer from him, Albert had deduced the reason for Flint's actions. The previous time, Fred and George had caused Marcus Flint to have diarrhea, and it wouldn't have been difficult for him to guess who was responsible.
"Perhaps we should teach him a memorable lesson," Fred suggested, his face darkening.
"Yes!" Lee Jordan immediately agreed, unable to tolerate anyone trying to undo their handiwork.
"He'll probably be on his guard against you two now," Albert warned. "He won't let you get away with it easily. And even if you do take revenge, he'll likely look for another opportunity to cause trouble for you."
"We never back down from a challenge," the twins said together.
"There's no need to make things so complicated. Just cast a Confundus Charm on him," Albert suggested.
"Confundus Charm?"
"It's in the book, Practical Defensive Magic and Its Use Against the Dark Arts. It seems you two didn't read it thoroughly," Albert sighed. "Never mind, I'll do it myself!"
"That's fantastic. I can't wait to see that jerk fail," one of them said eagerly.
"Let's see where that jerk is now," Fred added with a malicious smile.
Soon after, a rather sensational incident occurred at Hogwarts. Marcus Flint attempted to sneak into the girls' bathroom to peep, but he was caught red-handed by an upperclassman girl from Hufflepuff, foiling his plans.
"Hahaha! This is hilarious!"
In an empty classroom filled with storage items, Fred and George were holding their stomachs, laughing uncontrollably.
They had just witnessed Marcus Flint being marched away by Filch, his face red and swollen.
Albert leaned against a metal cabinet, shaking his head at the despicable behavior of his three roommates, who were still laughing raucously.
As Marcus Flint had passed by the girls' bathroom, Albert had cast the Confundus Charm on him, causing the boy to stumble into the bathroom. What happened next had almost made them laugh themselves silly.
As soon as Marcus Flint entered, a piercing scream rang out, and they watched as he stumbled out, covering his face. A group of girls then chased after the pervert, causing an uproar that shook the entire school.
Apparently, Marcus Flint had been caught in the act by an upperclassman girl from Hufflepuff, preventing his sinister intentions from succeeding.
Albert and his friends had quickly taken the secret passageway to get ahead and pretend to witness the commotion. They had then taken the opportunity to lift the Confundus Charm from Marcus Flint.
However, the matter didn't end there.
Albert also heard that Professor McGonagall was extremely angry and had placed Marcus Flint in a week-long detention. She had even informed his family about the incident.
The next day at noon, a Howler echoed through the Great Hall, as Marcus Flint's mother berated him for disgracing the Flint family name.
Fred, George, and Lee Jordan felt immensely satisfied by this turn of events.
Since Marcus Flint had pulled a fast one on them, they had returned the favor. It was only fair.
Now, the whole school was abuzz with the news, and whenever Marcus Flint's name came up, it was met with disdain and disapproval.
Some students who loved gossip were spreading stories about Marcus Flint, and he had become the hot topic of conversation during meals.
Fred and George, those troublemaking rascals, were going around spreading rumors and betting with others about whether Marcus Flint wore red underwear.
"I bet no girl in Hogwarts will ever want to go on a date with Marcus Flint again," said Field, as he walked over and sat down next to Albert, winking. "That jerk even tried to argue that he must have been under the influence of a Confundus Charm to mistakenly enter the girls' bathroom."
"If it were me, I'd tell others I was under the Imperius Curse," Albert said with a laugh.
"I happened to be there too. Marcus Flint did look like he was under the Confundus Charm," Field said with a strange tone.
"Then why didn't you tell Professor McGonagall about it?" Albert asked curiously.
"Why would I tell her? I'm glad to see that annoying jerk fail," Field replied cheerfully. "We should really thank whoever played that prank on Marcus Flint."
"I heard that when Professor McGonagall checked, she found that Marcus Flint hadn't been Confunded," Albert narrowed his eyes. "That's why she was so angry. She gave him a week's detention and deducted fifty points. He'll probably be at the bottom of the rankings this semester."
"Who knows," Field said with a smile as he walked away.
"She knows?" Lee Jordan asked anxiously. He thought Albert's plan had been flawless, leaving almost no loopholes, yet Professor McGonagall still found out.
"Who knows," Albert said nonchalantly. "What about Fred and George?"
"Those two are currently betting with others about how long it's been since Marcus Flint last washed his underwear," Lee Jordan rolled his eyes as he spoke of Fred and George.
