Chapter 300: Not Playing Fair
Chapter 300: Not Playing Fair
Kuro had already scouted the entire Pegasus Island and its surrounding seas. Within this range, everything was under his control.
Trying to fight him with seawater?
Even if you flooded the entire ocean here, Kuro could still ignore it as if it never happened.
"Fishman Karate doesn't suit us", Kuro said to Luo Wei, who was rolling on the ground. "Do you have any other techniques? Like that 'Asura Path' you shouted earlier?"
Fishmen excelled at manipulating water, but for Devil Fruit users, who would foolishly fight in the sea?
By contrast, the techniques demonstrated by the 'Asura Path' were somewhat novel.
"Are you kidding me?"
Luo Wei pushed himself up with both hands, his body trembling as blood seeped through his fingers covering his chest wound. His face flushed red—not from fear, but rage.
He had displayed such formidable power, yet Lucius Kro showed no respect at all, still asking him to perform more?
This guy wasn't playing fair!
How could someone like this become a strongman?!
"The wound isn't deep", Luo Wei muttered. He stopped the bleeding from his chest injury, steadying himself.
"If seawater won't work, then I'll use pure unarmed combat. This man's speed and swordsmanship are strong, but my Hakidefense still works. Besides, he seems weak against Armament Haki. Just let him take one hit from me."
Luo Wei made his decision. His feet slammed into the ground with a thud. Standing firm, fists at his waist, he stared at Kuro. "Fine! Asura Path—Black Rope Heaven Flash!"
Instantly, his black-and-red Haki-covered figure split into countless afterimages, filling the entire space.
These weren't ordinary afterimages—each could attack independently, covering every inch of the area at incredible speed.
If one had to compare, Klah's 'Shave' was a weaker version of this technique.
The afterimages surrounded Kuro, who held Autumn Water with one hand, watching curiously. The shadows flickered but held back.
"Can you even tell where I am?!"
Luo Wei's voice echoed from the shadows. Moments later, all the afterimages vanished. Luo Wei stood at Kuro's side, fists still at his waist, but now radiating a wild, unrestrained aura.
The visible pressure surged outward before concentrating into his fists. Luo Wei lunged forward, his legs carving a deep gash into the ground.
"Asura Path—Scarlet Heaven Flash!!!"
Shoo!
Boom!!!
His body, roaring forward like a blazing meteor, tore through the earth with a deep trench, rushing toward Kuro at lightning speed.
"He's using his ultimate move?"
Kuro raised an eyebrow, surprised. This was clearly peak speed with all Haki concentrated in his fist. This must be Luo Wei's strongest attack.
"The power is there", Kuro muttered, "but it's nothing new—just more intensity. This must be his limit."
He swung Autumn Water forward, two fingers gliding along the blade as golden light gleamed on the steel. "Let me send you off then."
"Unenlightened Divine Wind Murderous Sword."
"Got him!!!"
Luo Wei appeared before Kuro, fists shooting forward like thunderclaps, striking Kuro's body.
But the moment his fists touched flesh, Kuro vanished. Reappearing slightly behind Luo Wei's attack, Kuro narrowed his eyes as Luo Wei's fists pivoted toward him.
At that moment, a golden blade flashed upward between Luo Wei's fists, pressing against his abdomen.
Hiss!!!
"Azure Dragon (Jiaolong)."
The sword sliced upward from his belly to chest, tearing through his Armament Hakidefense and adding another deep wound to his body.
Blood seeped from the gash.
Kuro sheathed his blade, turned his back to Luo Wei, and walked away without looking.
"This isn't over yet!!!"
Luo Wei clenched his body to stop the bleeding. With a roar, his fists slammed into Kuro's back.
"Don't underestimate me, Navy!"
Thinking a single slash could cripple him? That's insulting!
Now it's time to make him pay!
Luo Wei knew his speed couldn't match Kuro's. He never expected to land that first punch—he was aiming for this moment. Take the hit head-on, trade injuries! With Kuro's slender frame, one solid blow would finish him!
Lida shook her head. "It's over."
"Didn't you hear?"
Without turning, Kuro strode forward, his voice calm. "The whisper of divine wind."
Bang!
Behind him, Luo Wei froze mid-charge. Disbelief filled his eyes. He opened his mouth, but only a thick gout of blood spilled out, splattering onto the ground.
His Armored Haki shattered like broken glass. Countless cuts erupted across his body, blood spraying like water from a pierced teapot.
Luo Wei's eyes rolled back. With a thud, he collapsed. Yet even as he hit the ground, he pushed himself up with trembling arms.
"Not... not yet..."
"Hm?"
Kuro turned, his expression shifting to surprise. "His will... How terrifying. How is he still standing?"
Those who survived Kuro's 'Azure Dragon (Jiaolong)' without falling instantly were monsters.
Luo Wei was strong, but at best, Navy Vice Admiral-level.
Even 'Diamond' Jozu fell to that strike. This man's resilience was astonishing.
Luo Wei raised his head, locking eyes with Kuro's surprised face. His gaze shifted to Lida behind him, her expression equally stunned.
"I can't collapse here—not until I personally destroy that Evil existence. Before fulfilling my purpose... I will never fall!"
Bang!
Like a beast, Luo Wei launched himself forward, legs propelling him at incredible speed past Kuro. In a flash, he reappeared behind Lida, one hand gripping her throat.
"This girl matters to you, right? Let me go, or she dies with me!"
Luo Wei glared at Kuro, his fingers tightening around Lida's neck. "Sorry, girl. For my ambitions, I have to do this."
"Hm", Kuro raised an eyebrow. "You should know... getting close to her without Haki is dangerous."
Luo Wei froze. Instinct screamed—this girl was dangerous!
He tried to pull back, but it was too late.
Whoosh!
His physical strength drained rapidly. Lida's hand pressed against his chest, her voice cold. "Essence Shockwave."
Boom!!!
The stolen essence exploded from his chest outward, unleashing a thunderous blast that sent him flying, rolling across the ground.
Wounded, exhausted, and now struck by a devastating blow, Luo Wei's consciousness finally faded.
"Really... Do I look weak?"
Lida transformed into her maiden form, flipping her slightly curly long hair back with disdain.
Luo Wei's eyes widened as he stared at Lida's transformation, his hand trembling as he pointed at her.
"Lida..."
His eyes rolled back. Darkness took him.
