Chapter 300: Flirting with Ouyang Qing
Chapter 300: Flirting with Ouyang Qing
Having traveled through three worlds, a small wish to meet a well-known beauty from the original story in a brothel was finally fulfilled.
Ouyang Qing.
Her oval face was adorned with a playful smile, and her sparkling eyes shone with a playful glance. Her fingers were delicate like orchid petals, and her skin was as smooth as jade, with a supple waist that swayed gracefully.
True to her reputation in the brothel circles, she was a woman who instantly brought thoughts of the bedroom to mind.
But surprisingly, she was still a virgin. How did she manage that?
Ouyang Qing led Su Shaoying to her private chamber, accompanied only by a fair and graceful maid who had just finished tidying up the room and now stood waiting in the corner.
Su Shaoying surveyed the room. The chamber was adorned with tasseled silk curtains, ancient zithers, and painted screens. There were also small dishes of food, burning incense, and a cozy yet elegant atmosphere filled with a subtle scent of powder.
"I heard that Miss Ouyang was just entertaining an enlightened monk?" Su Shaoying inquired, as he had yet to meet the honest monk and had hoped to do so this time.
"He's just a coward," Ouyang Qing giggled. "All he could do was chant 'Amitabha' in bed. When he heard someone mention him downstairs, he fled like he had seen the Buddha himself."
"Shouldn't a monk be overjoyed to see the Buddha?" Su Shaoying asked with a smile. "Why would he run away instead?"
"Monks would be overjoyed to see the Buddha in a temple," Ouyang Qing explained with a mischievous smile. "But if they encounter the Buddha in a brothel, they'll run faster than rabbits."
"Fortunately, I'm not a monk, so I won't be seeing the Buddha," Su Shaoying remarked with a nod.
"But here, we can bring more joy than the Western Paradise," Ouyang Qing replied with a captivating smile, causing Su Shaoying to involuntarily think of Lin Xian'er. Indeed, she was a professional.
"I believe it," Su Shaoying agreed with a nod. "A casual tune from Miss Ouyang is far more pleasant than those scriptures."
"So, the young master would like to hear a song first?" Ouyang Qing smiled and invited Su Shaoying to sit down. She picked up a pipa and gently plucked its strings, playing a popular tune called "Mandarin Ducks Playing with Jade."
Her eyes were like autumn waters, and her voice was like a nightingale's song.
Su Shaoying closed his eyes in appreciation, nodding gently in praise. Ouyang Qing's musical skills were impressive, rivaling even the songstress queen of Qinhuai. It was evident that she had honed her craft, and the soft murmurs in her singing were incredibly alluring.
How had she managed to remain a virgin with her reputation? Her fame was so widespread; surely she couldn't catch a monk or an eunuch to spend the night with her every day?
Su Shaoying watched Ouyang Qing with great interest, causing her face to flush, her eyes sparkling with allure. She set down the pipa and gestured for Su Shaoying to take a seat.
At that moment, the maid had already set out eight exquisite dishes on the round table in front of them, four cold and four hot, along with two warmed pots of wine.
"Let's have some wine first," Ouyang Qing suggested, her slender hand lifting a pot of wine to fill Su Shaoying's cup.
"Fine wine!" Su Shaoying exclaimed after taking a sip. "The pool reflects the blue-dyed water, and the flowers shine with fiery spring. The famous wine of Shu is truly deserving of its reputation. It is said that during Emperor Tang Minghuang's stay in Shu, whenever he longed for Yang Yuhuan but couldn't be with her, he would drown his sorrows in this very wine."
Su Shaoying turned to Ouyang Qing, his clear eyes revealing a hint of appreciation, unclouded by any impurity. "Drinking this wine and thinking of the unforgettable, Miss Ouyang, you are indeed a thoughtful person."
Ouyang Qing's cheeks flushed momentarily, and she quickly averted her gaze, smiling. "Young master, your talent surpasses others. This humble one is impressed. But I wonder, whom did you think of when you tasted this wine?"
Su Shaoying shook his head with a smile. "Miss Ouyang is indeed unique. However, there are quite a few unforgettable people in my mind. With just one cup, they all started parading through my mind like a revolving lantern."
Ouyang Qing couldn't help but chuckle, sending Su Shaoying a flirtatious glance. "Young master, you are indeed a romantic at heart."
Su Shaoying nodded seriously, then opened his mouth to eat a bite of the dish that Ouyang Qing offered with her chopsticks. "However, as the laughter fades and the sounds quiet down, my affections are troubled by the heartless."
"Young master, you're not being very polite," Ouyang Qing remarked, gently biting her lower lip before sighing softly. "What a pity. The sun rises in the east and it rains in the west. It seems clear, yet there is clarity within."
"It's my fault," Su Shaoying acknowledged, raising his cup to gently clink it with Ouyang Qing's. "As they say, the falling flowers and rain add to the sorrow of spring. It's better to cherish the person before your eyes."
Ouyang Qing's chest heaved with emotion, and she shot Su Shaoying a sideways glance, the sparkle in her eyes intensifying. "Young master, your wit is impressive. Are you making fun of this humble one?"
"I wouldn't dare," Su Shaoying quickly shook his head, then smiled. "Wasn't it Miss Ouyang who started this?"
Ouyang Qing let out a soft "tsk" and thought for a moment. "Then, should this humble one apologize to you?"
"In that case, I wouldn't dare either," Su Shaoying replied with a smile. "I believe even the Buddha wouldn't have the heart to make you apologize."
"The Buddha wouldn't accept me!" Ouyang Qing exclaimed, her body shaking with laughter, leaning half her body against Su Shaoying's. Her eyes were like silk, and she raised her cup again to offer a toast. "Young master, you are truly amusing."
"Is that so?" Su Shaoying took the cup and pondered for a moment. "They don't seem to have said that I'm amusing."
"Who are they?" Ouyang Qing inquired.
"They are the ones parading through my mind like a revolving lantern," Su Shaoying explained, finishing the wine in his cup.
Ouyang Qing smiled, her expression a mixture of teasing, questioning, and interest. Finally, she revealed a hint of playful annoyance. "Then, can I be in your revolving lantern in the future?"
Su Shaoying smiled. "In that case, I'll have to ask you for directions first."
"What directions?" Ouyang Qing asked curiously.
"The path to your heart," Su Shaoying replied with a smile. "If I can't reach your heart, how can I bring you back to my revolving lantern?"
Ouyang Qing's heart skipped a beat, and her breathing quickened. She forced herself to calm down and replied in a flat voice, "The path to my heart is not an easy one."
"I would rather spend a thousand gold to find a confidant," Su Shaoying shook his head with a smile. "Miss Ouyang, being in a brothel, you must understand the difficulty. Forget about a thousand gold; even if I threw ten thousand gold into the sea, I might not find my soul mate."
Ouyang Qing took a deep breath and picked up the other pot of wine to refill Su Shaoying's cup.
Su Shaoying looked at the wine in his hand, his eyes flashing. "You're not trying to get me drunk, are you?"
Ouyang Qing resumed her coquettish demeanor, leaning gently against Su Shaoying, her eyebrows curved. "Wouldn't it be better if you were drunk?"
Su Shaoying nodded with a smile. "Of course, it's better to be drunk. Only then can we do bad things. But could you put out the phoenix and butterfly incense on the table and not apply nightingale powder to your body? Most importantly, don't put clear mustard powder in the wine."
Ouyang Qing's eyes widened in surprise, and the maid standing in the corner of the room tensed up instantly.
