After the class assignments were finalized, everyone sat in the classroom waiting for their respective team leaders.

Not long after, a crimson-eyed beauty entered the room. She scanned the classroom and lingered on Naruto for a few extra moments—after all, the jinchūriki who had nearly been mauled by dogs was someone worth taking a second look at.

"Team Eight, follow me," the beauty said coolly before leading Hinata, Kiba, Shino, and Akamaru out of the room.

Kurenai’s entrance did catch Naruto’s eye. This lady was stunning, but it was a shame she was with Asuma, that chain-smoking bum.

Naruto had smoked in his past life and suspected he might pick up the habit again in the future. He wondered if Hinata would approve. Would he have to sneak into the bathroom, open a portal to Kaguya’s dimension, and smoke there? What if Momoshiki or Kinshiki found out? Would Kurenai end up gaining another “widow” companion?

Naruto began to worry about his future married life…

Just two minutes later, Asuma walked into the classroom, cigarette dangling from his lips.

The timing of their entrances was just too perfect. Who would believe they hadn’t arrived together?

"Akimichi Choji, Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino, come with me," Asuma said lazily.

Ino’s heart was no longer filled with despair—it had gone numb. A smoking bum, a lazy genius, and a gluttonous giant—why was she, a beautiful young kunoichi, stuck with such teammates? Sasuke… why had he left her behind?

This dazzling young beauty’s inner monologue was running wild.

Once the others had left, only Team Seven remained in the classroom.

Naruto greeted Sakura, who was seated next to Sasuke. "Hey, Bro… uh, no, Sakura. Please take care of me from now on."

They had only known each other casually before, but now they were teammates.

Sakura, with her dual personality, responded politely: "Naruto, please take care of me as well. Sasuke-kun, please take care of me too."

Inside, her inner persona was throwing punches furiously. He called me ‘bro’ just now! Absolutely unacceptable! I’m a woman! I’ll kill him!

Outwardly, Sakura appeared delicate yet strong, but inwardly, she was pure masculine energy—untainted and unfiltered.

"Please take care of me," Sasuke said coolly. While he believed he could handle things even with Naruto as the "piggyback leader," he still acknowledged Sakura’s value as a teammate. Both he and Naruto had skipped classes regularly and lacked theoretical knowledge, whereas Sakura was a top-tier bookworm with perfect scores. She was useful.

Peering through a small hole in the wall, Kakashi observed the scene and gave an initial evaluation: [The classmates seem to have a relatively harmonious atmosphere.]

Time slowly passed as Naruto sat lost in thought, sensing natural energy; Sasuke zapped his desk relentlessly, practicing his Lightning Release techniques; Outer Sakura gazed at Sasuke with adoration, while Inner Sakura raged uncontrollably.

Two hours later, Kakashi finally arrived—fashionably late, as always.

"My first impression of you three is… average," Kakashi said flatly. With his spiky white hair, mask covering most of his face, and forehead protector slanted over one eye, only his deadpan expression was visible.

Upon entering, he saw one student spacing out, another immersed in training, and a third fawning over Sasuke. Combined with his earlier impressions, he concluded they weren’t half bad.

Naruto bit back a sarcastic remark. What do you mean, ‘average’? You’re three hours late!

On the rooftop…

"My name is Hatake Kakashi. I don’t particularly like or dislike anything," Kakashi introduced himself in a monotone voice, his demeanor oozing laziness.

"My dreams for the future? None. As for hobbies… I’d rather not say." The saltiest of salty fish flipped onto its other side—but it was still just as salty.

Naruto rolled his eyes. You’re one of the legendary Konoha Eight Color Shinobi. Just admit your hobby is reading smutty novels already. Do you really have any other interests?

"My name is Uchiha Sasuke. I dislike many things, enjoy training, and my dream is to kill a certain man… and to defeat Naruto."

As the second-highest cheat character on this planet, Sasuke had already been mentally scarred by the number one cheat. His dreams had shifted—he no longer cared about restoring the Uchiha clan. Training under Naruto’s influence suited him well, especially since Naruto doubled as both a hospital and cafeteria. He loved the stress-free lifestyle.

[So it’s revenge, huh? And is Naruto really that much stronger than Sasuke?] Kakashi pondered expressionlessly.

If the gap between them wasn’t significant enough, defeating Naruto wouldn’t qualify as a lifelong ambition.

"My name is Haruno Sakura. Likes… um, dreams… well, I hate Ino." Sakura introduced herself, sneaking glances at Sasuke. Everyone understood where her priorities lay.

"My name is Uzumaki Naruto. I dislike crowded places, love Hyuga Hinata, and my dream is to hold my wedding on the moon."

Naruto hated crowds, and his dream hadn’t changed—he was confident he’d succeed. All he needed was for Toneri to deliver the final push.

Their responses filled Kakashi with envy. These kids were already pairing off romantically, while he remained a single, lonely bachelor.

But having spent over twenty years as a solitary wolf, Kakashi decided to embrace his solitude.

"Starting tomorrow, we’ll begin missions. Your first task is a survival exercise," Kakashi announced without so much as blinking his dead fish eye.

"This exercise has a failure rate of 66%. It’s extremely difficult."

Fed up with the awkwardness of introductions—and feeling bombarded by indirect romantic confessions—Kakashi wanted to wrap things up quickly. He planned to meet up with Gai later to unwind. After all, misery loves company, especially when it comes to fellow single dogs.

"Meet at the training grounds at 5 AM tomorrow. Bring your ninja tools," Kakashi instructed, waving dismissively. "Oh, and don’t eat breakfast—you’ll just throw it up. That’s all. Dismissed."

With that, he disappeared, leaving the three students behind.

"Let’s go, Sasuke," Naruto said casually, opening a portal with a wave of his hand.

Where to? Their usual training spot, of course.

"Mm," Sasuke replied coolly, brushing the dust off his pants before following.

"Sakura, meet us here at 5 PM tonight. We’ll discuss tomorrow’s exercise."

With that, the two left, leaving Sakura standing there with a face full of disbelief.

In the afternoon, the duo typically engaged in intense physical training—kicking trees, punching logs, dragging weights—and then enjoyed dinner in the evening.

At 5 PM sharp, the trio sat on the rooftop eating dinner.

"Cough, cough," Naruto cleared his throat dramatically, preparing to unleash his analytical prowess. "Let’s analyze tomorrow’s survival exercise."

The other two nodded. They knew very little about the exercise, so hearing Naruto’s insights would be helpful.

Naruto paused briefly to build suspense before launching into his analysis: "First, it’s called an exercise. They mentioned a failure rate, not a mortality rate, so there won’t be any casualties."

The others nodded. This made sense.

"Bringing ninja tools implies combat will be involved. There are three possible scenarios: One, we’re dropped into a designated environment to survive—this fits the ‘survival’ theme."

"Two, we fight among ourselves until only one person remains. This aligns with the 66% elimination rate."

"Three, we face Kakashi directly."

Naruto grew visibly excited as he reached the third point. Finally, he’d have a chance to test himself against a worthy opponent. Then again, considering Kakashi’s roughly 50/50 win-loss ratio, it was hard to gauge his true strength accurately.

Sasuke stared at Naruto, dumbfounded. Was this really the same guy who never analyzed anything? Had someone replaced him? Why had he suddenly started breaking down scenarios like this? Would he continue doing this in the future?

Sakura mirrored Sasuke’s expression. Her classmate was surprisingly insightful, deriving so much information from a few simple clues.

Feeling his earlier pontification hadn’t been dramatic enough, Naruto pressed on. Opportunities like this were rare, and he intended to make the most of it.

"If we fight internally, the outcome is obvious, Sasuke. You know it."

Sasuke did. If they fought amongst themselves, Sakura would be easily defeated by either Naruto or Sasuke. Between Naruto and himself, Naruto would undoubtedly prevail. Without his weights, Naruto was someone Sasuke couldn’t beat—not after years of daily sparring and mutual understanding.

"Therefore, we only need to consider two scenarios: survival or fighting Kakashi."

"For survival, there’s nothing to worry about. There aren’t any beasts in Konoha capable of threatening us, and I’ve got all the necessary supplies."

"So our focus should be on fighting Kakashi."

Another torrent of analysis left the others stunned.

This method of deducing processes based on known outcomes was incredibly satisfying.

"Fighting Kakashi could mean one-on-one battles or three-on-one."

"In a one-on-one scenario, given that he’s a jōnin, victory is virtually impossible."

"Therefore, we don’t need to consider one-on-one fights. We’ll focus solely on a three-on-one strategy."

"What we need to discuss is how to defeat a jōnin-level opponent with a three-on-one advantage."

A barrage of analysis struck like a tiger, but when you looked at their actual track record… zero wins, five losses.

The trio began formulating tactics.

From afar, Kakashi observed covertly.

He wasn’t interested in what they were saying. Simply seeing the three of them discussing together was enough…

After all, what he was evaluating wasn’t their individual strength but their teamwork and attitude toward their comrades.
