Chapter 3: The Extraordinary World
Chapter 3: The Extraordinary World
A towering figure, at least 1.9 meters tall, clad in gray metallic armor, strode swiftly with a greatsword that was wider than his palm. With a powerful swing, he cleaved a standing stone slab in half.
"Hua!"
A flash of silver light streaked by.
"Pa!"
The upper half of the stone slab slid down, landing heavily on the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
The cut surface of the stone slab was smooth, without any rough edges.
Instantly, the young masters erupted into applause.
"Amazing! Instructor Peres is truly incredible!"
Wielding a weapon of over 70-80 pounds? This was several times heavier than the cold steel weapons of Rain's previous life! Rain instantly realized this.
I can't believe someone could achieve such strength. If a noble girl possesses this much power, then this world must be an extraordinary one! Rayn couldn't think of any other reasonable explanation.
Sparks flew!
The noble girl turned her head, finally revealing her face to Rayn.
Standing nearby, Rayn stared at the small piece of metal embedded in the ground, his head bowed in awe.
The first sensation he felt was one of heaviness.
"Is this something a human can do?"
Her chestnut-colored ponytail bounced with each movement.
The visual impact and force of this scene were akin to seeing Iron Man landing on one's balcony, leaving Rayn utterly dumbfounded.
If his previous memories of extraordinary and unknown things were merely hearsay from bards and mercenaries, this scene before him was undeniably real.
This oppressive feeling... However, after a casual glance, they turned their heads away, no longer paying attention to the fragments, as if they were only checking if anyone was injured.
Many of the true second-generation nobles in front couldn't bear it, furrowing their brows and covering their ears. Only four or five people could watch the spar without changing their expressions.
"Can a person barely hold a thick stone slab and then cut it with a single sword strike?"
Swordmaster Perez looked at his two-handed greatsword and the irregular triangular notch on it, feeling a twinge of heartache. This sword had been with him for many years, and he never imagined... "Master Perez, I got carried away earlier and didn't hold back. Your greatsword might need some repairs. I'll inform Master Velintan."
The small fragment in his hand felt heavy and substantial, and its material was clearly not bronze, nor did it seem like ordinary steel.
Even if he became a blacksmith, he would only be an ordinary person. This world is indeed extraordinary!
Amidst his shock, Rayn secretly made up his mind.
After a while, seeing that the other party didn't come to retrieve the fragment, he reached out and dug it out.
If Master Perez's earlier strike that broke the stone slab could be attributed to personal talent, the collision that just occurred, with sparks flying, proved the immense strength of both combatants.
Rayn rubbed his eyes in disbelief as he recalled the previous scene.
"It seems reasonable, but that's for ordinary people."
Four words, a heroic figure!
The girl's oval face, with slightly thick eyebrows, exuded a sense of vigor. Her light brown eyes were captivating, and her tight-fitting hunting attire made her appear agile and robust.
This sight struck a chord in Rayn's heart.
A teeth-grinding sound of metal friction rang out!
Suddenly, a tiny speck of gray flew from the point of the clashing swords and landed about a meter in front of Rayn.
The noble girl, with her quick wit, noticed Master Perez's slightly furrowed brow and spoke up.
At this moment, the central training ground underwent another change.
"Clang, clang, clang!"
Master Perez, with his burly build, could wield the sword, but the slender girl could do the same. How was this possible? Was it some secret technique, a result of rigorous training?
"Clang!"
"But I'm different!"
"If the system can trigger a Blacksmith Apprentice life profession panel, then it should be able to trigger sword profession panels too, right?"
"I heard that the servant training includes learning basic swordsmanship. I wonder if I'll trigger the Swordsman or Swordmaster panel when the time comes."
Rayn's eyes lit up with excitement.
