You’re different from me, Ivan thought to himself. His achievements were partly due to the accelerated learning mode provided by the experience card, and partly due to the two dangerous blood rituals he underwent.
Hermione, on the other hand, had reached this point entirely through her own talent and hard work. This was what amazed Ivan, and it explained why the young witch in the original timeline could eventually become the Minister of Magic.
Hermione was unaware of this. As they walked to their Arithmancy class, she recalled the Slytherin girl and Malfoy, and couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Ivan, are all pure-blood wizards as arrogant and unpleasant as that?"
"Ron wouldn’t be happy if he heard you say that. The Weasleys are pure-bloods too!" Ivan shook his head with a smile.
"Sorry, I didn’t know", Hermione stuck out her tongue, a bit embarrassed. She had met the Weasleys, and Ron’s parents were very kind and had no prejudice against her. They had even invited her to visit the Burrow.
Compared to the arrogant Malfoys, the Weasleys were like a breath of fresh air.
"By the way, Ivan, are you a pure-blood wizard?" Hermione suddenly thought of this and asked.
"How would I know? Probably not", Ivan hesitated. He still didn’t know much about his parents’ family, and Aisha had never told him.
However, in the wizarding world, only the Sacred Twenty-Eight families were widely recognized as pure-bloods, and the Hals family wasn’t among them.
"Moreover, strictly speaking, there are probably no completely pure-blood families left in the wizarding world now", Ivan added with a laugh.
Hermione was a bit surprised. Why did he say that?

"I’ll use that to counter Malfoy next time I see him", Hermione said with a smile.
"I doubt Malfoy will believe you", Ivan shrugged, then added with a touch of sadness. It was because of such conservative pure-blood wizards holding power that the wizarding world had remained unchanged for centuries.
The two of them walked into the Arithmancy classroom, chatting and laughing. Professor Septima Vector, who taught Arithmancy, was a very meticulous person, quite different from the mysterious Professor Trelawney.
Professor Vector even held Professor Trelawney in high contempt. At the start of the class, she bluntly stated that only through rigorous and meticulous reasoning and calculation could one glimpse the future!
Most of the students in the class were from Ravenclaw, and Hermione was thoroughly engrossed in the lesson. By the end of the class, the young witch couldn’t help but comment that Professor Vector was much more reliable than Professor Trelawney. This was the kind of Divination she wanted to learn.
Ivan, on the other hand, earned another batch of academic points. The two then hurried to their next class.
By the end of the day, they had spent over ten hours in nine different classes.
In the evening, Ivan used the Time Turner to go back five hours to conduct his potion improvement experiments.
These days, although Ivan had Snape’s potion research notes, the progress in potion improvement was slow. He needed more time and relevant books.
Fortunately, the time issue could be solved with the Time Turner, and the necessary books could be found in the Restricted Section.
Thus, Ivan spent some time convincing Lupin to sign a book borrowing slip for him, citing potion research as the reason.
Lupin, who had been avoiding Ivan due to some rumors he had heard, was almost startled when Ivan came to see him. He thought Ivan had discovered his secret.
Fortunately, Ivan quickly explained his purpose, and Lupin agreed without much hesitation. After all, he knew Ivan was the creator of the Wolfsbane Potion, and it was normal for him to want to borrow advanced potion books. Lupin even hoped that one day Ivan might find a cure for Werewolves.
As Ivan left the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, he had a vague feeling that Lupin seemed to be afraid of him, but he couldn’t understand why.
Was he that scary?
Ivan remembered that he was quite handsome, especially after fusing with the unicorn blood.
Unable to figure it out, Ivan took the slip from Lupin and borrowed three advanced potion books from the Restricted Section: *Comprehensive Guide to Advanced Potion Ingredients*, *Advanced Potion Making*, and *Potion Improvement*.
He then found a secluded, empty classroom to begin his research on potion improvement.
Why not the library?
The only thing that made Ivan a bit frustrated was that although Hermione didn’t stop him from using the Time Turner for extra research, she also went back five hours with him.
"Hermione, you’ve been in class for almost twenty hours today. You should go back to the dormitory and rest", Ivan said, looking at Hermione, who clearly looked tired.
Hermione shook her head firmly. She felt that if Ivan didn’t need rest and was still working hard on potion knowledge, she needed to work even harder.
"Besides, I’ve read a lot of books and know the methods of making most potions. I can definitely help!" the young witch said confidently.
After saying this, Hermione looked at Ivan with a hint of anxiety. She could sense how important this potion improvement was to Ivan, and she hoped to be of help.
Ivan thought for a moment and didn’t refuse. Having an extra pair of hands to help with the potion improvement research would be beneficial.
Hermione was very happy, but when she actually joined the potion research, she realized that Ivan’s research topic was far beyond her understanding.
Moreover, she had never worked on potion improvement before, so she couldn’t make sense of Ivan’s research materials.
