Chapter 295: The Fight's Just Starting, You Thief!
Chapter 295: The Fight’s Just Starting, You Thief!
Outside, Klah had just returned to the port. He lowered his telescope and stared at the approaching ship’s silhouette, his expression puzzled.
It had only been half a day—how had that ship returned so quickly?
Had they already found someone?
Through the telescope, the figures on the ship were clearly different now. A group of people in martial arts uniforms had replaced the crew, and their auras radiated raw power.
Were they here to reclaim the Weapon?
“Major, what do we do?” a Navy officer saluted and asked.
“No need to bother Commander Kuro,” Klah said, glancing toward the base’s direction. “Open fire. Sink that ship.”
“Yes, sir!”
The officer barked orders, rallying his comrades to adjust the heavy artillery recently set up at the port, aiming the cannons at the approaching vessel.
Once within range, the dozens of cannons would unleash their barrage, sending the ship to the depths of the Grand Line.
The ship drew closer, its blurry silhouette sharpening into clarity.
The officer measured the distance, then roared, “Fire! Sink that ship!”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The cannons roared to life. A hail of cannonballs erupted from their barrels, soaring through the sky before arcing down toward the lone ship.
Suddenly, Klah twitched his nose, sniffing the air toward the ship. His expression darkened. “That blood scent… what’s going on?”
“Whoa!”
On the ship, Luo Wei tilted his head upward, watching the descending cannonballs with a grin. “Such a warm welcome! If they explode, it’ll be dazzling, don’t you think? Let’s make them pop!”
His figure flickered. In a flash, he leaped into the air. His arms erupted with Armament Haki, his eyes flaring wide. For a brief moment, he froze midair.
“Asura Path.”
The words rippled across the sea, carrying even to the port.
“Black Rope: Heaven Flash!”
Whoosh!!!
Jet-black martial arts robes. Jet-black arms cloaked in Armament Haki. In a blur, he streaked through the air, leaving behind a wispy afterimage that slashed through the cannonballs. Each cannonball struck by the afterimage detonated in unison.
Boom! Boom! Boom!!!
The explosions lit up the sky in a dazzling fireworks display.
Thud!
From the fiery sparks, a wisp-like figure soared forth, rocketing toward the port. It descended like lightning, landing with a thunderous boom.
“Yo!” Luo Wei grinned, raising a single hand in greeting to the Navy soldiers. “Konnichiwa, hardworking Navy men! You’ve given me such a grand welcome. I’m truly flattered. How should I repay you?”
He tapped his chin thoughtfully, then his eyes lit up. “How about this? Let me send you to meet your ancestors!”
The words had barely left his mouth when he became a wisp of an afterimage, reappearing beside a Navy soldier. The man’s eyes widened in terror as Luo Wei’s fist clenched, ready to strike.
But at that moment, Klah’s eyes narrowed. He twisted his body sideways, spinning backward a few steps.
Whoosh!
A silver arc flashed where Luo Wei had stood moments ago. A werewolf-like beastman appeared there, locking eyes with him. “You dare attack Navy soldiers? Do you know what that means, brat?”
“Oh? A Zoan user? A Devil Fruit user here? Impressive,” Luo Wei said, surprised. “You’re strong. You’re the one who drove off the Pirate Alliance, right? Truly remarkable.”
“Looks like he’s not the listening type.”
Klah crouched slightly, his voice low. “Time for a lesson.”
Swoosh!
His feet scuffed the ground, kicking up wisps of smoke and dust. In an instant, he rocketed forward, appearing at Luo Wei’s flank.
“Superspeed Shave: Wolf Fang Cross!”
Klah’s hands crossed into an X-shape, slashing forward with claws that tore through the air, releasing two glowing slashes toward the white-haired youth.
“Huh?”
As the claws neared Luo Wei, he tilted his body backward, narrowly evading the attack with an expression of surprise.
“Fast! That technique—stepping dozens of times in an instant. Is this the Navy’s ‘Six Styles’? I’ve never seen it before. But I’ll bet your Six Styles are stronger than the average,” Luo Wei said, grinning.
“Calm Step!”
Missing his strike, Klah leaped into a flying kick, his leg trailing a blue slash that slashed toward his opponent.
Luo Wei watched the kick, then suddenly jumped. “Let me see if I can—”
Whoosh!
Klah’s leg struck true but passed straight through Luo Wei’s body. The Calm Step’s slash erupted from his leg, shooting skyward.
“Afterimage?” Klah’s eyes widened.
“Like this?”
The relaxed voice came from behind.
Klah’s pupils constricted, his fur bristling. His tail lashed backward like a sword, thrusting straight behind him.
“Iron Body Fist Technique: Sword Tail!”
“Superspeed Shave!”
The blade-like tail struck another afterimage.
Luo Wei appeared at Klah’s flank. Before his body fully landed, he swung his leg downward.
“Calm Step!”
Boom!
A massive blue slash erupted forward, tearing through the ground with a deep gash, sending rocks and debris flying as it slammed into Klah’s body at point-blank range.
“Huh?”
Luo Wei tilted his head, watching. “Not bad. You actually blocked it. This full-body blood circulation hardening technique—is that part of the Six Styles too? The guy who created these martial arts is truly amazing.”
The smoke and dust slowly cleared, revealing Klah. His head bowed slightly, his torn chest fur exposing a long bloodless gash.
This Calm Step’s power had pierced his defense!
The wound wasn’t deep, but this was his transformed ‘Iron Body’ form—one that could even shrug off ordinary Armament Haki strikes.
“You…”
He lifted his head, eyes fixed on Luo Wei, his mind churning with shock.
Calm Step, Shave… no, Superspeed Shave. The speed used earlier was an evolution of Shave—ultra-high-speed movement.
Two techniques, used only once each, and they’d been copied.
This learning ability…
Are all white-haired freaks this gifted?
“Surprised by my skills?” Luo Wei chuckled. “No need to worry. It’s perfectly natural. In my eyes, there’s no martial art I can’t replicate after watching it once. If you won’t come at me…”
Hiss!
“Then I’ll come at you myself!”
He hadn’t even finished speaking.
Already, he stood before Klah, his palm transformed into a blade-like hand, piercing through Klah’s defense and into his chest.
“You!” Klah’s eyes widened.
“Mmm, this technique—your tail used it earlier. Besides the hardening, there’s that impact and sharpness. That’s another Six Styles, isn’t it? Combining them… too bad for you, I saw it. So now I can do it too.” Luo Wei grinned.
‘Sword Tail’ combined Iron Body and Fishman Karate, but it was just a momentary reflective attack.
“Now then, be amazed! Be awed! Bow to my innate talent!”
Luo Wei lifted his head proudly. “For I am Luo Wei, the world’s greatest martial arts genius!”
“Roooaaarrr!!!”
The roar erupted from across the battlefield.
In that instant, Luo Wei’s pupils contracted. He tried to pull back, but his arm was caught—his hand, buried in Klah’s chest, locked in place by the Navy man’s muscle grip!
Hiss!
Boom!
A shockwave exploded outward, sending Luo Wei rocketing backward, spinning twice midair before landing.
He looked down at his torn robe, five deep gashes now torn open, his face darkening. “This Navy guy’s trouble…”
Before him, Klah’s body began swelling. The wound Luo Wei had made closed not through healing, but through sheer muscle contraction, sealing the injury shut. His legs twisted backward, human knees transforming into forward-facing beast joints. His arms elongated, hanging to his thighs, claws like longswords glinting coldly.
The half-human, half-wolf beast towered five meters high, now a gruesome werewolf with gleaming fur.
“Heh…”
Klah crouched low, claws grazing the ground. He lifted one paw, stuck out his long tongue, licking the smear of blood on his claw. His gruesome grin widened.
“The fight’s just starting… you thief!”
