Chapter 292: Jonin Meeting
Chapter 292: Jonin Meeting
"Good morning, Teacher Mu Yue," the entire class enthusiastically greeted Mu Yue, their Jonin teacher.
The more socially confident Anko Mitarashi even stood up and waved at Mu Yue.
"Good morning, everyone," Mu Yue smiled and gestured for Anko to take her seat.
"Starting today, you will no longer be first-year students but second-year students. Last year, everyone worked hard and performed well. Do you want to surpass yourselves this year?" Mu Yue scanned the room with a smile.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Anko enthusiastically replied, emphasizing her determination.
"This summer, I'm aiming to join Group B for special training!" Tetsu Hiiragikawa declared his goal for the semester.
"I want to continue developing more practical ninjutsu this year!" Izumo Kamizuki shouted simultaneously.
"I must score over ninety-five in theory this year," one student declared.
"My goal is to score over thirty-five in combat," added another.
After Mu Yue's prompt, the students eagerly shared their goals for the semester, their passion igniting the classroom.
Mu Yue nodded with a smile, pleased with her students' enthusiasm.
"Now, let's begin the lesson," she said.
The students immediately quieted down. While there was some hushed whispering at the start, the room soon fell into a focused silence as they listened intently to the lesson and practiced.

Mu Yue planned to spend this academic year mastering various ninjutsu, expanding her skill set, and improving her proficiency.
While a typical ninja needed to find a specific path and delve deeply into it to construct their own system, Mu Yue, with her unique advantage, didn't have to face such complexities.
She could effortlessly switch between different styles—from using the Lightning Breath's spotted pattern to become a swift ninja, to employing highly proficient nature transformation ninjutsu to unleash powerful combination techniques. Even with just the Rock Breath and the Eight Inner Gates, she was a formidable taijutsu expert.
With no fear of taking on too much and failing, Mu Yue was determined to make herself as versatile as possible.
In the world of ninjas and ninjutsu, there were inherent counters and strengths; for example, in the future, Danzo would be defeated by Kisame, and the current Minato wouldn't be able to take down a jinchuriki alone. But that didn't mean Kisame could defeat the current Minato; even the younger Minato, who hadn't yet mastered the Rasengan, possessed immense strength.
It was the unique abilities of Kisame's Samehada and his water style that countered Danzo's molten style, resulting in Danzo's defeat.
However, if Kisame were to face the current Minato, Mu Yue believed that while Kisame might not lose, the winner would undoubtedly be Minato, even in his younger days.
To avoid being countered and to gain the upper hand herself, Mu Yue aimed to master a diverse range of high-proficiency skills.
She wasn't neglecting the construction of her own system; instead, she was simultaneously building multiple systems to become a jack-of-all-trades.
The afternoon class was a large one, and Mu Yue successfully acquired two wind style ninjutsu.
As Mu Yue prepared to find Tsunade, she noticed that a Jonin meeting was taking place.
Changing her course, she headed directly to the Hokage Building.
Mu Yue arrived at a time when the room was starting to fill up with Jonin, but it wasn't overly crowded yet.
"Jonin Mu Yue," one of the Jonin present greeted her.
Mu Yue smiled in acknowledgment; she recognized this ninja as one of the Leaf Jonin she had encountered on the battlefield.
Unlike before, Mu Yue now had a bit of fame, earned through her own prowess. This led to several Jonin initiating conversations with her, curious to learn more about this suddenly appearing strong Jonin.
"Mhm, I can already perform it pretty well, but there are a few things I'm unsure about. We can discuss it in detail after the meeting," Mu Yue replied with a nod and a smile.
It would be a bit intimidating to display proficiency all at once, so it was better to show gradual progress.
The surrounding jonin, who had overheard their conversation, looked at Mu Yue with even more curiosity. Chen's taijutsu was quite famous among the Leaf jonin, and now, it seemed that even he had questions for Mu Yue about her taijutsu.
"Haha, Mu Yue, how's your training with Tsunade going? Make sure you don't anger her, or the consequences could be terrifying," Jiraiya said with a smile as he walked in alongside Minato.
Perhaps due to her exceptional medical ninjutsu, Tsunade tended to be a bit heavy-handed, even with her fellow Leaf ninja.
"It's going well," Mu Yue replied to Jiraiya with a smile, also greeting Minato.
"How am I terrifying?" Tsunade, who had walked in behind Jiraiya, asked with a frown, crossing her arms.
While she did punch Jiraiya quite a bit, she believed he deserved it.
"Ahaha, what I meant was that you're a strict but excellent teacher, and Mu Yue should study hard not to disappoint your earnest teachings," Jiraiya explained with an awkward laugh.
Fortunately, Tsunade had no intention of causing trouble; she had just said it casually. After her brief exchange with Jiraiya, she walked over to Mu Yue and asked if she would be coming for training today.
Initially, Mu Yue had planned to go, but now, with the meeting taking up some time, she might be late.
Mu Yue thought about it and assured Tsunade that she would come, but it would have to be later in the day.
"When did you discover his potential?" Danzo, one of the four present, glared at Hiruzen Sarutobi as he watched Mu Yue interacting with many of the Fire Shadow's jonin.
"On his first day at the Ninja Academy," Hiruzen Sarutobi replied with a smile, stroking his goatee.
If Danzo hadn't sent Mu Yue to the Ninja Academy, he wouldn't have known about this talented individual under his command.
"The ninja world is growing more chaotic by the day, with countries waging wars against each other. I need stronger subordinates to gather intelligence. With his abilities, he shouldn't be wasting time at the Ninja Academy; he should be back in Root, carrying out more important missions," Danzo said in a low voice.
"As you know, I am the Hokage," Hiruzen Sarutobi said, his eyes narrowing. His gaze was sharp, leaving Danzo speechless.
Danzo cursed inwardly but soon regained his composure, thinking to himself, "Of course Sarutobi won't let him go. Once you take someone of that caliber, you don't give them back. Sarutobi won't be that foolish over something so simple."
The reason he said this was so that he could ask for something from Sarutobi after the meeting in exchange for letting this go.
"Sarutobi, you still underestimate me. My subordinates aren't that easy to take away," Danzo thought with a smirk.
He still remembered the sincere expression on Mu Yue's face before he left for the Root base—an expression that spoke of a pure Root member with the Will of Root.
"Let's begin the meeting," Hiruzen Sarutobi said, nodding, once most of the jonin had arrived.
