Chapter 29: Ultra Electro Mode
Chapter 29: Ultra Electro Mode
Kapu's attacks were relentless, his fists, palms, elbows, and legs all serving as weapons, each as formidable as iron fists. The onslaught battered down on Luk, but to everyone's surprise, Luk managed to barely withstand the relentless assault, a spark of electricity flickering in his eyes.
Luk felt as though his body was burning with a fire, his mind equally aflame. But his mind was exceptionally clear, calm enough to quell his anger and prepare for the next battle.
Kapu's attacks rained down like a storm, but Luk, with his incredible control, managed to mimic the technique. He allowed the lightning chakra to flow through his body without causing significant damage, enhancing his reaction speed and adding an extra layer of electrical protection to his body.
There was a difference from the original, but improving his strength was possible. Luk felt a surge of energy within him, like he was a child egg, yet he gritted his teeth, the threat of death pushing him to curse.
The lightning chakra surged within him, its power surging out of his body, and Luk heard the groans of his body under the strain. Fortunately, with the addition of qi, the lightning chakra's rampage was balanced, and the timely restoration of the qi kept his body functional.
Luk named this mode "Ultra Electro Mode"!
He glared at Kapu, delivering his first active punch. The two fists met, and a hint of surprise flickered in Kapu's eyes. The power of this punch was no less than the previous ones, and the points of contact were tingling with electricity, causing a slight numbness.
Amid the flashes of lightning and sparks, their fists and feet clashed hundreds of times, the intense energy making the sky change color, and the surroundings altered by their fierce power.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The ground cracked and the sky tore apart, the chaos around them relentless. While fighting, Luk calculated the time it would take for Lu Fei to arrive.
There was no mistake. Even with all his might, he still couldn't win against Kapu. The conditions for victory hadn't changed, only the method had.
Since he couldn't run to Lu Fei, he made Lu Fei come to him.
He didn't shield the surroundings, but this way, he could draw Lu Fei in.
Their battle dynamics were intense, and Lu Fei, with his street dog character, couldn't come in, the only issue being the timing.
Push through!
Luk cautioned himself, feeling the weight of each attack he barely withstood, the terror of the broken bones, and the shattered golden light flowing again.
His body was continuously refined in destruction and repair, making significant progress in a short time.
He felt the breath of the world flowing smoothly, no longer needing to hold his breath to perceive clearly, but their clash was still at a disadvantage.
Every one of Karp's attacks hit where Luk couldn't easily maneuver, making him feel uncomfortable. Meanwhile, Karp could effortlessly predict and counter each of Luk's moves.
It was Haki of Observation.
Luk understood this, feeling Karp's breathing, pulse, and rhythm. His extraordinary soul gave him a subtle grasp of something profound.
A flash of inspiration, and he found himself in a peculiar state of mind.
His thoughts extended like a physical reach, capturing everything around him, including Karp's punches. It felt as though he had everything under control, even the moisture in the air and the scent of the earth.
This was a different way of perceiving the world, distinct from the Breath of All Things.
So, this is Haki of Observation?
Luk's mind raced, and the punches and kicks that had been suppressed by Karp began to break free, visibly improving until he could match Karp's attack rhythm.
After another intense exchange, both men took a step back.
This was the first time Karp had been forced to retreat!
"Cough, cough."
His body protested, unable to simultaneously repair the strain of the Super Charged Mode and the damage from Karp's attacks. His injuries were piling up, even as his physical strength gradually increased.
Luk forced a smile, maintaining the Super Charged Mode.
"What's wrong, old man? Can't keep up?"
"..."
Impressive.
Looking at the footprints he had left behind, Karp's initial smile was replaced by a cold, stern expression.
"Your physical techniques are weak, your sword skills are poor, your footwork is sloppy, and your reactions are slow. You think you can seriously compete with me at this level..."
"You're still far from ready, Luk!"
Karp's immense strength surged again, his black Haki compressing and converging. Together with his formidable physique, he unleashed a force twice as powerful as before.
The world lost all color, and time seemed to slow to a crawl. In Luk's vision, only the black iron fist, radiating a lethal threat, was closing in.
Luk's mind went blank, and his body moved on its own.
The Golden Light Spell, fully activated.
Super Charged Mode, fully activated.
All the energy within him surged forth, tearing through his flesh, while the Breath of All Things analyzed the weaknesses of the incoming punch, and Haki of Observation sensed its approach.
There was no other way to respond.
His mind, spirit, and body unified in an unprecedented manner, all parts working together to focus everything on his fist. Then, with everything he had, he swung it.
Buzz—
A buzzing sound filled his ears as the force of the two punches shattered everything around them. In the corner of his eye, Luk saw a figure swinging through the trees using extendable arms.
...
Luffy watched the scene in shock.
The sky, ground, lake, and forest were all torn apart, leaving a deep crater that stretched as far as the eye could see. His grandfather stood in the center, while Luk lay on the ground not far away.
"Grandpa, did you do this?"
Karp didn't answer his grandson's question. Instead, he looked down at his Haki-coated, indestructible fist.
The black Haki dissipated, and blood began to drip from the wound on his knuckles.
Drip, drip.
After a long moment, he smiled.
"Youngsters these days are truly formidable."
I originally intended to write a battle sequence and set up the plot for the next chapters. These two chapters might have been a bit frustrating to read, but it won't happen again. Please consider it a failed evolution; I've already reverted. (●''●)
