Chapter 29: Dragon Breathing Technique
Chapter 29: Dragon Breathing Technique
Inside the cave, the rock walls began to crack, and huge boulders broke free, falling downward. They crashed onto the ships below, sinking them into the sea and destroying them completely.
All of them?
Sag's eyes widened as he involuntarily shouted, "My ship! My money! My treasure! Aki, go!"
His voice trailed off as he noticed the glint of gold on Aki's wrist, shining brightly in the dim cave.
It was a golden bracelet.
Sag turned to look at the others.
Paru had a golden earring, and the rest of the pirates either had bulging waist pouches emitting a faint golden glow or were adorned with golden jewelry.
Had they all kept the spoils with them?
"Sag, I'm afraid your ship might have sunk," Lily said as she walked over, pursing her lips. "But don't worry, I can lend you some money if you need it."
However, as she said this, she tried to hide something behind her back with one hand, and Sag remembered the jewel-studded bracelet she had.
Those were the spoils from before.
"Are you crazy?" Sag snapped. "Who keeps their money on them? It should all be securely hidden on the ship!"
"Captain Sag, it's more convenient to keep these things on us," Aki said with an embarrassed laugh.
So, was it his fault for having a lot of items, or was he in the wrong?
The voice on the other end of the line continued to laugh. "Hahaha! Everything will be gone soon enough. Once this place is destroyed, even the space will cease to exist, and you will be forever buried on this island!"
Along with the mocking laughter, the massive layer of rocks above began to shake and sink.
If it were to fall completely, this space would be utterly annihilated!
"You old fart! You wrinkly-eyed geezer! Hemorrhoid monster! May your mother rot in hell!" Renitia's eyes were red with anger, and her voice was filled with tears. She raised her war hammer and twisted the handle, causing it to extend and push against the falling rocks.
"I'll kill you! Dynamic Impact!!"
Boom!
A visible wave of air burst forth from the hammer's face, momentarily halting the descending rock layer. But it was only a brief pause, as the rocks continued their downward trajectory.
This was the collapse of an entire island's space, and no matter how much force Renitia applied, she couldn't stop it.
"It's useless," the voice on the other end sneered. "Do you think I didn't know what you were up to when you dug that secret tunnel under the island? That's why I didn't use a phone worm and made you set up a simple two-way communication device. I wanted you to die quietly here, Renitia. Your usefulness has come to an end!"
"Sag, we..." Lily began, her face paling as she looked up at the slowly descending mass of rock.
Such immense power seemed unstoppable.
Was their dream of sailing the seas about to end here?
She had only just discovered her dream!
Lily tightened her grip on her rapier and pointed it upward. "Even so, I refuse to give up without a fight!"
"Storm Leg!"
Sag delivered a powerful kick upward, sending a slicing attack toward the rock layer. It carved a deep gash in the rocks, but the wound seemed insignificant compared to the massive layer.
"It's no use," Renitia said, dejectedly lowering her hammer. "I know this height. Even if you could cut through it all, it would only make the fall faster."
"That's true for you," Sag said as he lowered his foot and glared at the microphone. "But you, old timer, are dead meat! You sank my money, and not even a god could save you now!"
"I'm not old!" the voice on the other end exclaimed, almost as if the microphone itself were about to jump up in protest.
Sag took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling rapidly. He clenched his fists and slowly raised his arms.
Hiss!
A white stream of air shot out from his nose like an arrow, spreading out in a circular wave on the ground.
An invisible aura seemed to surround him, and with each breath, the energy sank into his body, causing his frame to expand slightly.
He was growing!
Sag raised his head to look at the falling mass of rock. "A mere rock layer? I'll just break through it!"
While Sag hadn't destroyed an entire island, it didn't mean he couldn't handle a small rock layer.
All he had to do was punch through the island from bottom to top, and this island wasn't that big anyway.
He had tested it with Storm Feet earlier, and it was doable!
However, using ordinary techniques probably wouldn't be enough.
But the North Star Divine Fist wasn't just about secret acupoint strikes and iron-crushing fists.
It also had...
"Secret arts."
Once again, a white stream of air shot out from Sag's nose, spreading on the ground, and with each breath, his body expanded further.
“Dragon Breathing Technique!”
Ssss!
Sag's upper garment was torn to shreds as his muscles swelled, his body expanding from an ordinary stature to a towering height of three meters.
His physique underwent a profound transformation, with muscles twisting and knotting like steel cables. His shoulders expanded outward, forming what looked like shoulder pads, and the bones at his elbows protruded like thick gauntlets. Even the collarbones around his neck extended, resembling the collar of heavy armor.
Boom!
With just a slight movement, the burst of aura that emanated from him caused Lily to stumble back several steps. The nearby pirate subordinates fared even worse, with several of them staggering and falling to the ground, their eyes wide with astonishment as they beheld Sag's utterly inhuman form.
The potential latent within the human body is vast, and in this vast sea, everyone possesses the power of will within them. Through cultivation, this will can be transformed into Haki, and with training, even a weakling can become a formidable opponent within two years.
Sag, too, had his own potential.
The Dragon Breathing Technique was originally a secret art meant to force out one's latent potential, thereby strengthening the body and allowing one to maximize their capabilities.
However, upon arriving in this world, the Dragon Breathing Technique underwent a change.
The reason was that Sag couldn't force out his entire potential.
The key to unleashing potential lies in recognizing that potential has its limits, but Sag couldn't seem to find those limits within himself.
In essence, the power of the North Star Divine Fist couldn't be considered top-tier in this vast sea. Even Lao's Heaven-Opening Fist, capable of stirring up celestial phenomena, had its equal in the abilities of many others in this world.
Yet, Sag had honed the North Star Divine Fist to its utmost limits, and since he couldn't unleash his full potential, he opted for a different approach—he would settle for maximizing the power of his current stage.
The North Star Divine Fist secret art—Dragon Breathing Technique—enabled him to freely harness all the power of his current stage to strengthen himself.
"Eighty percent will be enough."
Sag clenched his fists and gazed upward at the falling layer of rock. With a slight lift of his legs...
"Moon Step—Comet!"
That exceedingly ferocious frame of his shot forward like a comet, directly colliding with the overhead rock layer.
"Ora!"
Boom!!!
Countless rocks went flying from the middle of the rock layer, as an enormous dent was blasted into the once-impenetrable mass.
Sag stood at the center of the dent, pounding his fist into it and creating yet another indentation. Then, like a phantom, his fist rapidly struck out beneath the rock layer.
"Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora!!"
Like a rock-drilling machine, Sag continued to ascend, relentlessly drilling a massive passage through the rock layer and pushing upward.
The shattered rocks fell to the ground, piling up to form a stone staircase.
Lily's heart stirred, and she stepped onto the staircase. "We can get out by going up! Quickly!"
The pirates reacted, scurrying onto the stone staircase and following the passage that Sag had drilled out, swiftly climbing upward.
...
"Hehehe!"
Inside the castle, within a grand and opulent palace hall, a man tossed aside the microphone and descended from his throne. Gazing at the soldiers filling the hall, he proclaimed, "Rejoice! The ship is complete! From this day forth, the Black Sail Pirates will become the most terrifying legend in the East Sea! Infinite wealth awaits us, and each of you will have your chance to amass a fortune!"
These soldiers, from inside the hall to outside, stood in full attendance.
They were the two thousand soldiers gathered from the Natiya Kingdom.
As the man spoke, the soldiers' eyes gleamed with excitement.
"However..."
The man waved his hand grandly. "The ship's capacity is limited, and not all of you can board. We must be selective. Only the most elite soldiers will be allowed on this black ship. Now, let us—"
"Ora!!"
Boom!!
Before he could finish his sentence, a large clump of rocks went flying from behind the throne, raining down and crushing several unfortunate souls beneath them.
A violent gust of air blew out from behind the throne, toppling the bejeweled chair and revealing a large cavity behind it.
A residual image burst forth from the cavity, freezing in mid-air to reveal a sinister figure.
It was a man!
His white hair billowed, and his body was sinister, resembling a devil that had crawled out from the depths of the earth as he looked down upon those below him.
Sag's lips peeled back, baring his teeth in a sinister grin. "Just as I said, you're a dead man today!"
