Chapter 286: Moonshadow Forest
Chapter 286: Moonshadow Forest
As Li Qian and Al Du, the senior student, conversed, seven students led by Instructor Zhou appeared at the entrance of the Beast Center. He scanned the area and noticed that all the freshmen had assembled. Nodding slightly, he said, "Good job, everyone. Since we're all gathered, let's not wait for the designated time and head out now."
Instructor Zhou led the freshmen out of the Beast Center in Cloudsky City.
After leaving the Beast Center, the group of freshmen gathered at the central plaza, rearranged themselves into a neat formation, and headed straight for the South Gate.
Cloudsky City had four exits, the four main gates facing the four cardinal directions.
The reason for choosing the South Gate was that it was the closest to their destination, the Moonshadow Forest.
At the South Gate, robotic soldiers stood guard, appearing to be of a considerable level. They showed no reaction as Li Qian and the others passed through.
"These robotic soldiers are powerful, each possessing the strength of an Overlord Rank."
Sister Ling explained to the freshmen, "Additionally, they have the ability to combine and reorganize. Every three, five, or nine robots can merge to form a new robot, reaching the peak of their power at the High Sovereign Rank."
"They not only safeguard the security of Cloudsky City but also maintain order within. If anyone causes trouble in the city, they will be arrested and apprehended by these robots."
As Sister Ling explained, the group walked out of the city gates.
After leaving the city gates, Instructor Zhou extended his hand, and a bag suddenly appeared in his palm.
"Put on these custom communication bracelets. There's no signal for phones here." He took out a batch of bracelet-like devices and instructed the students.
After distributing the bracelets, Instructor Zhou added, "Remember, if you encounter any special situations, like sudden light circles or unusually ferocious extraordinary creatures, never initiate an attack recklessly. Stay away and immediately report to your squad leader or me."
"Great! We can finally embark on a real adventure."
"Amy, remember to hide behind me if we encounter danger later."
"Take care of yourself."
"I can't believe we can enter a dimensional plane right after enrolling in the Beastmaster University."
"..."
Once the students had put on their bracelets, they began to chatter excitedly, their expressions filled with excitement.
Instructor Zhou did not stop the freshmen's lively discussion this time.
On the way to the Moonshadow Forest, Al Du, the senior student, took the lead and began describing the forest to the students.
In general, if one were to use the level classification of certain online games from his previous life, the Moonshadow Forest would be considered a beginner's map at most.
The most common extraordinary creatures in the forest were of three types: the one-tailed cats, two-tailed cats, and three-tailed cats; venomous spiders and multicolored venomous spiders; and white cotton silkworms and sleep butterflies.
There were other extraordinary creatures, but their numbers were not as concentrated or abundant as these three types.
After about two hours of traveling with Instructor Zhou and the three senior students, the group reached a distinct boundary area.
Behind the boundary was the direction they had come from, featuring low bushes and vast grasslands. In front of the boundary, a dense forest stood tall, like an ocean of trees with no visible end.
Crimson, silver, yellow, and even red trees could be found in this forest, each more fantastical than the last.
Li Qian was certain that such scenery could not be found on Earth in his previous life or his current home planet.
Such a sight could only exist within the dimensional plane.
"Up ahead is the Moonshadow Twilight Forest," said Al Du, the senior student leading the group, as he glanced at the trees ahead. He then turned to Zhou Jiaoguan, the instructor who was trailing behind, and suggested, "With so many of us, it's not convenient to move together. Let's split into four smaller teams like we did before."
Zhou Jiaoguan nodded in agreement, understanding the need for smaller groups.
After making this decision, Zhou Jiaoguan wasted no time. He walked directly to the group of new students and announced their next steps. "Up ahead is the Moonshadow Twilight Forest. We've already discussed the details about it during our journey here. Now, let's divide into our four teams and begin our exploration."
The group of new students didn't question Zhou Jiaoguan's arrangement.
They were well aware that gathering in such a large group, chattering and making noise, would not provide them with the true training experience they sought.
Accepting Zhou Jiaoguan's plan without objection, the four teams immediately sprang into action, just as they had done previously. Li Qian's team was still led by Al Du, who guided them northwest while discussing their strategy.
"What about you, Al Du?" The senior student's words sparked curiosity among the six newcomers.
Al Du smiled faintly. "Normally, I wouldn't intervene. But if I do, it means your trial is over, and you can go home early."
Among the six-person team, the lively and slightly overweight student, Ding Ganmao, spoke up with confidence. "Rest assured, Al Du. We will surely complete this training."
"Confidence is good," Al Du said, leaving them with a final word before striding forward without further delay.
As they watched Al Du's retreating figure, the group of six didn't immediately follow. Ding Ganmao raised his hand and proposed, "Before we enter, let's discuss our individual strengths and the roles we can take on within the team."
Li Qian nodded in agreement, recognizing Ding Ganmao's suggestion as a good idea. It would increase their chances of success and give them a semblance of teamwork rather than appearing as a mob.
With no objections, Ding Ganmao volunteered to go first, sharing his situation. "I'm Ding Ganmao. I'm a newly entered Elite rank with two companion beasts, one ice-type and one water-type, both capable of offense and crowd control."
"I'm a regular Rank 9 with one companion beast, a wind-type, and I can provide support."
"I also have a companion beast, a fighting-type skilled in close combat!"
"...
The new students took turns sharing their information, and soon it was Li Qian's turn...
