Chapter 283: Cricket Fighting
Chapter 283: Cricket Fighting
"Ah, refreshing!" Lu Ran exclaimed, shaking his sleeves with satisfaction.
Recalling the battle with the Ghost General during last month's city defense, it was a back-and-forth exchange.
But now, looking at the current battle, it was a one-sided crush!
With such combat power, he should be able to gain the Sage Sheep's approval, right?
On this pilgrimage, he was determined to explore new realms and broaden his horizons.
Lu Ran thought to himself as he slowly raised his hand.
In the Spiritual World's Divine Demon Sculpture Garden, Lu Ran and the Night Charm's evil sculpture were closely connected.
"Huff~"
Streams of energy surged from Lu Ran's palm.
"Energy shapes its body, and the essence of its soul," Lu Ran murmured, working together with the evil sculpture's original body to cast the spell.
Under his palm, a figure slowly took shape.
A mysterious black veil covered her head, and her curvaceous body was stunning.
A Night Charm from the Demon Clan, and a Fifth-Stage River Realm Night Charm at that!
In Lu Ran's sculpture garden, the Night Charm's evil sculpture was from the River Realm, so it could only create Night Charms of the River Realm and below.
Previously, at home, Lu Ran had created a Night Charm of the lowest rank, the Fog Realm, to practice and do chores.
Now, in the demon's lair, Lu Ran could let loose.
Within his capabilities, he sculpted the most powerful servant.
Damn, that figure of the Night Charm was so hot!
Was he testing his subordinates?
"What a sin," Lu Ran muttered, shaking his head to clear his mind of these random thoughts.
A little evil demon, how dare it disturb my focus!
As the saying goes, the final touch brings the dragon to life.
He summoned the essence of the Night Charm's evil sculpture, adding the most crucial detail to the alluring body before him.
"Hiss!"
The Night Charm came to life, fully awakened, and let out a deep, throaty sound.
"Shut up!" Lu Ran extended two fingers and flicked the brim of the black veil.
What was this commotion about?
Didn't she know how tempting she was?
"Hiss!" The Night Charm immediately drew her Night Charm Blades, slightly bending her long legs.
Lu Ran was startled!
Was she rebelling?
The Night Charm Clan was known for its cruelty and brutality, and their evil nature couldn't be changed.
However, the scene of a servant killing their master didn't unfold.
"Huh?" The Night Charm suddenly realized that the person standing beside her was her master.
Her murderous intent dissipated, and she faced Lu Ran with a respectful bow.
Lu Ran: "..."
The Night Charm had just awakened and was struck, so it was a reflexive reaction to kill.
Lu Ran looked left and right, examining the obedient and docile Night Charm, and finally nodded in satisfaction:
"That's more like it."
Due to the language barrier, Lu Ran spent the next few minutes teaching the Night Charm some simple commands.
The Night Charm Clan was known for its intelligence, and she quickly grasped the instructions.
Lu Ran was even more pleased and raised his hand to tap the black veil again:
"Let's go, it's time for some cricket fighting!"
The Night Charm obviously didn't understand what "cricket fighting" meant, but she followed Lu Ran's lead.
Master and servant headed deeper into the forest.
Soon, Lu Ran spotted a mound of dirt.
He pointed, giving a simple and direct order: "Kill."
The Night Charm raised her hand as well, and a string of Night Charm Blades pierced the mound.
"Ahhhh!" A painful scream echoed from within the tomb.
The next moment, thick black mist emerged from the grave.
The Night Charm's slender hands were already filled with energy, and she unleashed a fierce gust of wind.
"Huff!"
A violent wind rose, and the mist dissipated!
The poor Ghost General died in such a pitiful manner.
Lu Ran: "..."
Where was the promised cricket fighting?
The Night Charm Clan seemed to have a strong advantage over the Ghost General Clan.
Sensing her master's gaze, the Night Charm turned to face Lu Ran, slightly lowering her head, once again displaying her obedient and docile nature.
Lu Ran patted her shoulder and praised, "Well done."
He couldn't criticize his servant for being too strong, could he?
Lu Ran opened his Netherworld Eyes and searched for the Ghost General's soul, striding towards it.
The powerful Night Charm closely followed Lu Ran, and two of the eight Night Charm Blades she had thrown earlier returned, landing in her left and right hands.
After a short while, the master and servant finally encountered a Ghost General who hadn't been buried yet.
"Go," Lu Ran commanded.
"Hiss!" The Night Charm took a step forward with her long legs, her figure rapidly closing in.
The Ghost General stood firm, immediately raising a large black banner.
In the human world, evil demons rarely fought among themselves.
After all, they were all busy—busy eating people and busy tormenting them.
But now?
The Night Charm was brimming with murderous intent, clearly ready for a fight. How could the Ghost General back down?
"Hiss!" The Night Charm gripped her twin blades, dragging them across the ground, leaving long scratches!
"Crack!"
The Night Charm and the Ghost General brushed past each other, and both the banner and its bearer were slashed to the ground!
Lu Ran: "..."
Was it so difficult to have a simple cricket fight?
"Huff~"
The Night Charm swiftly slid backwards and landed gracefully behind Lu Ran.
The mysterious black veil fluttered gently, and behind it was a beautiful face with lowered eyebrows and a serene gaze.
Lu Ran was stunned by this sliding maneuver!
No!
You're too much like me!
Hmm, that's not right. The Night Charm before him was created by Lu Ran and the evil sculpture.
The Night Charm did indeed inherit the evil sculpture's lineage, but it also possessed some of Lu Ran's characteristics.
Lu Ran sighed inwardly, gazing at the Ghost General who had been cut in half. He quickly stepped forward and captured the soul within his eyes.
Through the soul, Lu Ran realized that this was a Stream Realm Ghost General.
Sending a River Realm Night Charm to fight a Stream Realm minion was like using a butcher's knife to cut butter.
As he pondered, Lu Ran's expression became peculiar.
It was common knowledge that the Ghost General's Technique: Ghost Fog Body was compatible with the Third Stage of the River Realm.
Weak Phantom Generals will be easily sliced by Night Charm, while powerful ones will be swept away by her wind and defeated in an instant.
"Good one!" Lu Ran laughed and shook his head.
This cricket fight won't be easy.
"Let's go." Lu Ran summoned the Divine Power Orb and absorbed energy before waving his hand towards Night Charm.
After letting go of his obsession with cricket fighting, Lu Ran felt even more delighted.
He had often fantasized about having powerful demonic servants by his side during his travels.
Now, Night Charm fulfilled all of Lu Ran's fantasies! She was powerful and loyal.
"Don't slack off while we're traveling," Lu Ran instructed. "Keep absorbing energy."
Night Charm looked at Lu Ran, and behind the black veil, her face showed confusion. "Huh?"
Obviously, she couldn't understand what Lu Ran was saying.
During their journey, Lu Ran taught Night Charm how to absorb energy from the heavens and earth, both verbally and through demonstration.
Night Charm caught on quickly, further endearing herself to Lu Ran.
However, Lu Ran soon felt a bit uncomfortable.
After all, once he completed his training and returned to Earth, he would have to deal with this Night Charm as well.
Next time he made a Night Charm, he would have to teach her all over again.
Lu Ran sighed in frustration.
If only he had a storage bag or a spatial ring, he could store Night Charm inside and take her out when needed.
Lu Ran furrowed his brows in thought, not knowing how long he had been walking when he suddenly stopped.
Night Charm immediately halted, her body tensed, sensing everything around her.
Lu Ran sniffed, detecting a strong phantom aura.
"This way," Lu Ran said, creating a layer of wind beneath his feet and stepping up as if on invisible stairs, ascending step by step.
Night Charm followed suit, skillfully using the Night Dance Enchanting the City technique to keep up with Lu Ran.
The master and servant duo crossed the cliff, and Lu Ran gazed into the distance.
In the lush forest, there was an area devoid of any vegetation.
"A cemetery?" Lu Ran's eyes lit up.
Along the way, he had mostly seen solitary graves, but in the distance, there was a cluster of them.
A rough count revealed nearly 30 mounds! This was a jackpot!
They had found the collective dorm of the Phantom General Clan!
"Go, kill!" Lu Ran's heart raced with excitement, pointing towards the cemetery.
Finally, he could engage in cricket fighting!
"Hiss!" Night Charm immediately charged forward.
Eight Night Charm blades led the way, piercing one mound after another.
"Ahh!"
"Haha!" From each mound, a giant hand emerged.
Phantom Generals crawled out, creating a rather chilling scene.
Some Phantom Generals transformed into black mist and floated out of the earth.
Under normal circumstances, these powerful Phantoms would have made a grand entrance!
Unfortunately, they encountered the wind-manipulating Night Charm Clan.
As soon as Night Charm entered the scene, she blew away three powerful Phantom Generals.
"Tsk tsk~"
Lu Ran stood behind a large tree, revealing half his face and observing the distant battlefield.
What a chaotic slaughter!
The Night Charm at the Fifth Stage of the River Realm was like a tiger in a sheep's pen, leaving long slashes in her wake as she dominated the Phantom Generals.
"So fierce," Lu Ran muttered, summoning a small paper puppet with his right hand.
He focused his gaze on a Phantom General, and the paper puppet in his hand was tightly connected to the target.
However, the next moment, this connection was severed! As everyone knew, the Crimson Paper Evil Art: Paper Puppetry involved a spiritual aspect.
The stronger the caster's mental strength, the tighter the binding between the paper puppet and the target.
But the Phantom General Clan possessed defensive techniques! Lu Ran and his paper puppet couldn't bind the Phantom General!
"Pfft," Lu Ran scoffed, not discouraged, and quickly shifted his target.
There were so many Phantom Generals!
Even if this clan had exceptional intelligence, with such numbers, there were bound to be some underachievers, right?
After some attempts, Lu Ran finally found one!
"Hmm?" The Phantom General, holding a Dragon Saber, suddenly felt his body grow heavy.
His face turned serious, and as he tried to retreat from the battle, he felt an immense force crushing his body.
"General, your skills are lacking," Lu Ran said with a slight smirk.
Behind the tree, Lu Ran revealed half his face, holding a paper puppet in his hand.
His palm slowly clenched, squeezing the puppet bit by bit.
"Ah! Ahhh!"
On the battlefield, the Phantom General screamed in terror.
In the shadows, it was as if a giant hand had gripped and crushed his body.
The Phantom General struggled with his heavy body, desperately swinging his great sword, trying to sever the invisible hand.
"Die," Lu Ran said, his voice cold and cruel.
The paper puppet in his hand crumpled into a ball.
The Phantom General on the field could no longer wield his great sword.
"Ahhhh!" The Phantom General wailed in agony.
His arms twisted, his legs bent inch by inch, and his waist was about to snap.
"Thud!" The Phantom General collapsed to the ground.
The sound of cracking bones was enough to make one's teeth chatter.
His limbs were still entangled, and his tall, robust body was finally crumpled into a ball.
Blood flowed from his mouth, and his crimson red eyes slowly dimmed.
Behind the tree, Lu Ran opened his palm.
The paper puppet had turned into a wrinkled little paper ball.
Lu Ran muttered, "Crimson Paper, your methods are ruthless."
Do you think those stone statues can be crushed?
