Chapter 28: The Conditions for Ceasing
Chapter 28: The Conditions for Ceasing
Luk took a deep breath and began to sift through the memories of the other Loks, hoping to find something useful.
The most useless Lok, the Dragon Blood Lok, had nothing but memories of showing off, face-palming, and fist fights with his girlfriend group in various settings, times, and backgrounds. Truly a waste, offering no help at all.
Fortunately, Luk didn't expect much from him and quickly moved on to the next Lok's memories.
The Supernatural Lok's memories were filled with training at Dragon Tiger Mountain, discussing scriptures and theories with his fellow disciples. While this might be useful for a verbal duel, it offered no practical combat skills.
Sighing, Luk switched to the next set of memories, finally finding something useful.
These were techniques for evading, hiding, fleeing, and playing dead. Survival in the Rukongai wasn't easy, and the Shinigami Lok spent most of his life mastering these skills.
This was the last one, and Luk didn't hold much hope as he quickly scanned through the Naruto Lok's memories.
...
"Poisoning, ambushing, feigning weakness, feinting, and group attacks. The only goal in battle is victory. A ninja doesn't need a senseless sense of honor."
Kakashi wiped his short blade and casually explained to his friend.
"And if you must fight head-on, intelligence is key. Know your opponent's methods, count your own cards, think about the conditions for victory, and use everything at your disposal to the fullest. That's the secret to battle."
"What if the enemy is far stronger than you?" Luk asked.
"Run. Running is not shameful. Run to a place the enemy can't reach, or to someone who can protect you." Kakashi sheathed his blade and answered solemnly.
"Would you protect me?"
"..."
Luk blinked. "If the village is attacked in the future, will you come to protect me? I am your only true friend, after all."
"I have more than one friend."
After a moment of silence, Kakashi lowered his head and muttered a single word.
"Yes."
...
Damn, this guy is so gay!
Even knowing that the Naruto Lok was trying to find a protector before his golden finger kicked in, Luk couldn't help but comment, at least flirt with a girl or something!
However, thanks to Kakashi's introduction to combat techniques, the Naruto Lok was able to easily beat the Dragon Blood Lok and hold his own for a while even when teamed up with the Shinigami Lok.
Luk's mind raced, evaluating the abilities of both sides as Kakashi had suggested.
Garp had top-tier physical skills, top-tier Haki techniques, and top-tier combat experience. Despite his age, he showed no signs of physical decline like Whitebeard, making him a well-rounded fighter, a six-sided warrior.
On our side, we have decent physical attributes and subpar sword skills, providing basic combat power. In the world of pirates, there's no concept of a blue bar; only stamina. However, Luk had a mixed energy source of chakra, reiatsu, and qi, giving him an additional blue bar, which was an advantage.
But at Garp's level, even his blue bar and stamina combined might not match half of Garp's.
The Golden Light Spell was a good tool, highly compatible with all worlds, and its protective and enhancing functions were very practical. The power level in the "One Punch Below the Heaven" world might not be the highest, but the quality was excellent, and the water was deep.
The Shinigami Lok had put in a lot of effort into Shunpo, achieving a minor mastery. The Haki-based movement in the pirate world was purely a violent physical skill, and Luk felt that with his full effort, he could keep up with Garp's speed, as long as he was prepared.
Perhaps because of the Devil Fruits, the rules in the pirate world were all-encompassing. Kido techniques were mostly unaffected, but relying solely on Rank 40 Kido spells, unless Garp stood still and didn't resist, breaking through his defenses would be difficult.
Damn, no matter how you calculate it, there's no chance of winning.
Luk anxiously held the Peregrine Falcon in front of his chest, his eyes determined.
The only thing he could do now was run!
Luffy had to run right up to Luffy, who would never actually finish him off, especially not in front of his grandson. And Luffy would definitely block him.
Garp approached step by step, the oppressive aura making Luk feel suffocated. He cautiously glanced at Garp and decisively used his Shunpo to escape.
Whoosh! His ghostly figure moved at lightning speed, but after just a few steps, Luk felt an overwhelming threat. He quickly turned right, and the place he was about to stand was hit by a powerful punch.
"In a fight, you actually left your back to the enemy. How naive," Garp said, his cold expression as he punched at Luk.
Luk couldn't block it!
A golden glow enveloped the yanxun, and he dodged the powerful punch. He drew his sword and slashed, but the blade struggled to penetrate Garp's body, and he felt a momentary resistance.
Closing his eyes and clearing his mind, Luk felt Garp's breathing.
He could hear it! Even Garp's robust body showed signs of fatigue.
Just as he was about to strike, Luk opened his eyes and saw the familiar fist growing larger.
Boom!
Luk's body flew backward, crashing into a thick tree before finally landing.
"Even sensing your opponent's breathing requires you to clear your mind. Has your swordsmanship been practiced for a year? Who was your master, for you to be so weak?"
Garp criticized Luk's exposed weaknesses, but he didn't stop his relentless attacks, as if he intended to use the pain to make Luk remember.
Before Luk could even get up, Garp lunged forward and delivered a powerful punch to Luk's face.
Boom—
The ground shattered with a mournful cry, a massive crater forming from the punch. Garp didn't pull back his fist, and the last moment Luk dodged it.
Luk's gaze swept the battlefield, spotting his cautious self.
"Phew!"
Luk spat a mouthful of blood, his escape plan failing. Garp's speed was unmatched, and his explosive power was even greater, leaving Luk no chance to evade the iron-fisted assault.
"Old man, don't push people too far!"
He was really starting to lose control, this was a fight to the death!
Garp didn't reply, instead choosing to charge forward with a raised fist.
His attack style was simple and direct, no matter what, he smashed everything with powerful punches.
Damn, not dodging!
Luk gripped the yanxun and continuously slashed, the black sword energy cutting through Garp's unyielding iron fist, leaving faint white marks on the powerful punches.
Seeing his flying slash attacks useless, Luk discarded the yanxun, tearing his clothes viciously, gathering all his energy in his arms and legs, aiming to capture Garp's fists and feet.
Smack!
Garp's iron fist, now glowing with golden light, hit Luk's forearm, causing the direction of the punch to deviate.
Luk knew that a direct confrontation was a dead end, and a frontal assault wouldn't work. So he used a feinted attack, but the next moment, he was hit by another punch to the abdomen._
_How could Luk's skills possibly match Garp's seasoned experience? In the instant his right fist deviated, he closed in on Luk, and his left fist slammed into Luk's stomach._
"Cough!"
Luk spat out a mouthful of blood, the terrifying punch force destroying his body, giving him the sensation of internal organs shattering.
Using all his strength, Luk grabbed Garp's arm, gritting his teeth, and glaring at Garp with intense hatred.
Old bastard, let's see this through!
