Chapter 275: Massacre
Shriek—
With Kai Xiusu’s furious roar echoing through the sky, black blood erupted in midair. The shadow dragon’s half-wing was torn clean off, its translucent, ethereal membrane dissolving into nothingness.
Roar!
Mortifer screamed in agony, his charred-black body writhing in torment. But under the overwhelming dominance of Bloodscaled Fury’s raw strength and the chaotic flames that twisted around him, his struggles were feeble—pitiful, almost laughable.
“I’ll tear you to pieces!” Kai Xiusu laughed maniacally, his pale golden eyes now bloodshot with crimson veins. He was a predator toying with prey, savoring the taste of blood, relishing every moment of dragging out the torment, every slow, brutal dismemberment.
“No… no! I am the Whisper of the Night!”
“Seven hundred years of cultivation… millions of lives sacrificed… how could I lose to you?”
Driven by sheer will to survive, the shadow dragon finally unleashed his spell.
【Shadow Escape】
A ripple tore through space. Mortifer’s body fragmented into swirling clumps of black mist, slipping through Kai Xiusu’s claws like smoke.
Immediately afterward, dozens of shadow dragons materialized in the sky—wings torn, bodies scarred—draining energy from the Shadow Domain, their forms regenerating visibly, flesh and bone knitting back together before the eyes.
The dragons let out a chorus of soul-chilling shrieks, their cries like the wails of vengeful spirits.
【Hell Legion】
Hundreds of hellish devils materialized in the sky—twisted, monstrous beings wielding jagged weapons. They surged forward from all directions, converging on the frenzied Red Dragon in a wave of demonic fury.
This was the power of 【Shadow Incantation】—a spell that conjured illusions from shadow substance. The phantoms were 80% real, indistinguishable to the untrained eye. Worse still, those who saw through the deception were struck by shadow energy, suffering severe mental wounds as the darkness seeped into their minds.
But Bloodscaled Fury didn’t care whether the enemies were real or illusion. He only wanted them destroyed.
Roar—
Kai Xiusu roared again, his massive, powerful frame barreling through the air like a living storm. He snapped his giant maw, teeth like obsidian blades. He raked with claws like scythes. He swung his thick, whip-like tail with devastating force.
In just a few breaths, bloodlight flashed across the sky. The Red Dragon tore through the Hell Legion, annihilating every last shadow demon—no survivors, not one.
Mortifer never intended to defeat the Red Dragon with these illusions. He only wanted to stall—just long enough.
His true form had already fled, transported miles away to Dragonshadow City. Now, within the chaotic weave of magic, he was desperately crafting a Spellcraft Model, preparing a Gate to Another Realm to escape this plane.
Just a little longer… just a little more time…
Wait, Kai Xiusu. I’ll return. The Whisper of the Night knows how to endure.
The night will swallow you whole. And when it does… your body… your secrets… everything… will be mine.
A low, chilling whisper drifted through the air. The shadow dragon spat black fog, weaving it into a spiraling vortex in the sky. His pale, ash-white eyes burned with venomous hatred.
But then—something terrible came from behind.
What?
Mortifer spun around in panic.
There, streaking through the sky like a falling star, came the Red Dragon—moving at terrifying speed, wings trailing dark-red flames in its wake.
The shadow dragon’s face twisted in horror. He frantically accelerated the gate’s formation—but Kai Xiusu was already upon him, roaring in frenzied fury.
He’d been cornered.
No—!
Mortifer’s cry echoed as Kai Xiusu seized his slender body. The two dragons plummeted together from the sky, the Red Dragon’s immense weight crushing the shadow dragon into the earth.
Boom—!
The ground trembled. Dust roared into the air. Entire buildings collapsed into ruins. The thunderous impact rang clear across Dragonshadow City—every soul within could hear it.
Upon impact, a massive shockwave erupted from the center of the struggle, shattering windows across nearby buildings.
The shadow dragon was pinned beneath Kai Xiusu, utterly unable to move.
Though his body was made of shadowstuff—intangible, insubstantial—he was still vulnerable. With his supernatural essence shattered by the Scales of Blood and the Chaos Flame, he suffered grievous wounds.
But within the Shadow Domain, endless black mist poured from the sky, flooding his broken form. His body regenerated at a visible pace—flesh knitting, wings reforming.
In normal circumstances, this realm would have made him immortal.
But now, trapped in close combat, it only fueled the Red Dragon’s bloodlust. The more the shadow dragon struggled, the more Kai Xiusu relished his torment—finally releasing the years of pent-up rage.
Roar! Mortifer twisted, spewing black shadow currents from his mouth.
But the next moment, the Red Dragon tore open his neck with a claw. Then, with a crushing step, he slammed the dragon’s head into the ground.
Crack!
The earth cracked. A deep pit formed. The head was severed, crushed into a mangled mess—black, viscous sludge.
The sky continued to rain down mist, replenishing the shadow dragon’s body. His head reformed, but now his pale eyes were filled with raw terror.
Mortifer had never felt so humiliated.
He tried to struggle. He tried to flee. But the Chaos energy was everywhere—inescapable.
Kai Xiusu gripped his neck with one arm, lifted him high, then slammed him forward with brutal force. The shadow dragon’s massive body crushed several buildings to dust.
No… no… just get away…
Mortifer staggered to his feet, flapping his wings desperately, striving to rise into the sky—anything to escape this nightmare.
But as he cleared the ground, the Red Dragon seized his tail in a vice-like grip, yanking him back down with a single, violent pull.
Then—crunch—the head was crushed again.
Boom!
Another explosion of force.
This cycle repeated—over and over. The Red Dragon killed him again and again.
Now, Mortifer was nothing more than a toy.
The battle had reduced half of Dragonshadow City to rubble. Past shops, taverns—everything—was reduced to dust and debris. Countless civilians perished in the shockwaves of the merciless clash.
But Kai Xiusu didn’t care.
Finally, Bloodscaled Fury seemed to grow bored.
Crack!
He seized the shadow dragon’s wings and twisted—snap!—ripping them clean off.
Then, with a violent tear, he tore open the dragon’s chest, exposing a mass of translucent, shadowy organs.
Thick, mud-like blood—like liquefied darkness—spewed from the wound.
Roar—!
The Red Dragon bellowed. From the Dragon Crystal on his chest, chaotic light patterns surged. From his giant, blood-filled maw, a torrent of dark-red Chaos Breath erupted.
The Chaos Flame surged into the open wound, consuming the still-heart of the shadow dragon. It obliterated the dragon’s evil essence, shattered his spiritual soul—reducing him to raw, chaotic shadow matter, scattered into the wind.
