Chapter 274: The Wild Battle
Chapter 274: The Wild Battle
Gao Qiu and Lu Shiqi's muscles tensed up involuntarily.
As Third Limit Fighters, while they couldn't be considered severely injured, they were no longer in their prime condition.
Facing a well-prepared and armed skilled fighter, even if they teamed up, they might not be able to win.
As for the spectators in the surrounding fighting arenas, they slowly retreated, moving away from the central area, fearing they might provoke the intruder who had inexplicably entered the arena.
This incident had nothing to do with them, and from the intruder's performance, it was clear they were also a Third Limit Fighter. If these three fighters engaged, those nearby wouldn't have a chance to react.
Gong Zhanyi was currently mingling with the crowd, and under the cover of the steward and two guards, he slowly retreated to the entrance. He stared at Wei Wusheng's back, thinking that if it weren't for the Gong Clan's capture team being prohibited from entering the arena, he could have captured this person right then. But there was still a chance; as long as the door opened...
At that moment, Wei Wusheng tilted his head slightly and said, "Gong Zhanyi, I know you're here, and I know you're looking for me."
Gong Zhanyi's face changed slightly, but instead of retreating further, he stood his ground, looking ahead. In a deep voice, he asked, "Wei Wusheng, did you take the item?"
Wei Wusheng replied, "If you're referring to the item that Sun Xuezhang gave me, then yes, I took it. Do you want it back? I'm afraid you'll never have that chance again."
Gong Zhanyi's fingers trembled slightly, but he maintained his composure, "What are you trying to do? Kill me here?"
"Not just you, but everyone here."
Wei Wusheng spoke as if it were a casual matter, causing the fighters present to change their expressions.
After saying this, he turned his head to look at Gao Qiu and Lu Shiqi.
"You have five minutes to prepare. After that, I will attack you. Either you kill me, or I'll kill you."
Gao and Lu's expressions turned solemn, and they didn't ask why he was doing this.
Fighters pursue different goals; sometimes, it's about reaching higher levels, and sometimes, it's purely for personal beliefs. As a result, they might do things that seem crazy to ordinary people.
Gao Qiu lowered his head, sniffed, and reached into the water to retrieve a bloody piece of flesh, which he swallowed.
It was his own flesh, including bone fragments. He picked up each piece and chewed them, swallowing them down. As he ate, the wounds on his body began to squirm and contract, and his mental state gradually recovered.
Lu Shiqi reached into his abdomen and pulled out his small intestine.
This was an implanted intestine. He had previously consumed a type of indigestible silk fiber that, when combined with the intestine, formed a whip-like resilience. It could be used as a weapon in critical moments, but since it had been cut in half by Gao Qiu's sharp nails, it was now two three-meter-long intestine whips.
Wei Wusheng didn't interfere. He had given them five minutes, and he wouldn't initiate the fight during this period.
At this moment, Lu Shiqi licked his palm and wiped it over his wound, using the implanted gland under his jaw to secrete a biogel through his saliva, accelerating the repair of his damaged tissue. Although it wasn't as fast as brain stimulation recovery, it didn't require additional stamina or energy.
They prepared while the other fighters in the arena had mixed expressions, initially planning to retreat further to stay out of trouble. But they couldn't take Wei Wusheng's words as a joke.
However, they were self-aware enough not to rush into battle with this person. Even with medication, they knew they had no chance of winning against a Third Limit Fighter.
So, they could only wait for Wei Wusheng to engage the other two fighters and then look for an opportunity.
But after just over a minute, something seemed to affect most of the people in the arena. Their eyes began to redden and swell, and their breathing became rapid. A mania and desire to destroy everything in front of them took hold.
Chen Chuan and his three companions stood in a separate circle, not mingling with the other fighters. But he noticed the strange changes occurring in Tan Zhi and his two companions.
The three of them also realized something was wrong and retreated further from each other, but the mania grew stronger, an uncontrollable urge to vent it building within them, their faces flushing red.
Chen Chuan glanced at his Second Eye, where signs of virtualization appeared, indicating that a special substance was invading them.
In the main cabin of the cruise ship, Sun Xuezhang was in communication with a high-ranking company official. The latter spoke sternly, "The company is aware of this incident, Director Sun. As the on-site person in charge, do you have any plans?"
Sun Xuezhang replied, "The 'Polyope' project must be kept secret. To lead the way in the next era, we must make significant progress in these projects."
"Then how do you plan to hide the situation on-site? I remind you that even if you eliminate everyone and blame Wei Wusheng, the company's secrets will still be exposed during the subsequent investigation."
Sun Xuezhang said, "I don't intend to do that. Such an action would severely damage the company's reputation. Fortunately, there's a Crimson Sea Worm we modified on- its Mania Toxin has a similar effect to the Polyope Field. We originally prepared it for the show's entertainment, and we can use this as an explanation afterward.
I've ordered the security team to inject a calming agent, but as it's an immature drug, it will take effect at different times, between five and ten minutes. They will enter to rescue the guests and save as many people as possible."
"Why not let the ship's security advisor handle this matter?"

"The Polyope Field won't affect the Third Limit Fighters in a short time."
Sun Xuechang added, "There are still some unidentified people on the cruise ship. I'm not sure if this incident is premeditated, but I must ensure the safety of the other tourists."
"Your response is noted, Sun Xuechang. I will present it to the company council and hope you can handle this matter, minimizing its impact."
Sun Xuechang assured, "I will. Please convey to the company that I am the person in charge here. If there are any consequences, I will take personal responsibility and not involve other company staff."
"I will deliver your message truthfully."
After ending the call, Sun Xuechang instructed, "Have the security team with the calming agent quickly go to the Combat Deck. Inform all tourists that the company is searching for intruders on board. Ask them to stay in their cabins and not go out unless necessary. They will bear the consequences if they do."
"Yes, sir!"
In the arena, another minute passed, and a frenzied atmosphere spread among the fighters. Many had red eyes, staring intensely at each other, as if they were about to lose control of their emotions.
After a while, a loud shout came from near the door. Finally, someone couldn't hold back and attacked the person next to them. This seemed to ignite the entire arena, as everyone roared and started fighting with those around them.
In the corner where Chen Chuan and his three classmates stood, Pan Xiaode's eyes turned red. He charged towards Chen Chuan and said, "Pan, is this how we practice?"
Chen Chuan raised his hand, and with overwhelming strength, he immediately disrupted Pan Xiaode's balance. With a casual swing, he struck Pan Xiaode's side neck, rendering him unconscious.
Chen Chuan then took a half-step back, avoiding Qi Huixin's kick, and with lightning speed, he kicked her neck, knocking her down without a sound.
He turned to Tan Zhi, only to find that Tan Zhi had punched him before fully unleashing his power, and now he was lying on the ground.
Surprised, Chen Chuan realized this was a good choice. Tan Zhi had some quick wit, as those people wouldn't be interested in someone lying down. Moreover, Chen Chuan's attack was measured, which was better than being hit by others.
Chen Chuan turned to the chaotic crowd of fighters, who had completely lost their senses. He glanced at the platform above the arena and, after a moment's thought, headed towards the people at the back.
On the platform, Wei Wusheng suddenly looked up and said, "Five minutes."
As he spoke, Gao Qiu rushed towards him, intending to block his attack and create an opportunity for Lu Shiqi behind him. He believed Lu Shiqi would understand his intention.
However, facing Wei Wusheng's powerful punch, Gao Qiu suddenly felt a strong sense of danger. He realized he might not be able to block it and quickly switched to evasive maneuvers.
Lu Shiqi knew he couldn't let Gao Qiu face Wei Wusheng alone. He stepped forward, swinging his gut whip towards Wei Wusheng. Wei Wusheng's body suddenly stopped, and he grabbed the whip with his other hand, wrapping it around his hand twice.
As Gao Qiu made this move, Lu Shiqi saw an opportunity. Gao Qiu's retreating body seemed to be pushed forward, and he leaped, palm striking towards Wei Wusheng's spine.
Wei Wusheng slightly shifted his body, allowing the palm to enter, but the hand that had easily torn through Lu Shiqi's chest was now trapped by Wei Wusheng's thick muscles, unable to break free. "Cross-Training Power?" Gao Qiu wondered.
Wei Wusheng then spun, and the powerful force sent Gao Qiu flying forward. Gao Qiu quickly adjusted his posture, his body resembling an eagle with curled toes, ready to kick at any moment.
However, at this moment, a large hand reached out, smashing Gao Qiu's remaining hand block. It grabbed Gao Qiu's face and pushed it down, slamming him into the ground. The entire platform shook.
Wei Wusheng acted swiftly. As he grabbed Gao Qiu's other hand, the gut whip wrapped around it, instantly breaking Gao Qiu's force. Simultaneously, another gut whip struck Gao Qiu's body, and as Wei Wusheng pulled it back, the whip formed several circles around Wei Wusheng's body. With a strong pull, he could bind Wei Wusheng.
But at this moment, a large stone was thrown towards Wei Wusheng's head. Wei Wusheng dodged, losing balance due to the missing arm. As he turned, he saw a fist approaching his face.
Wei Wusheng barely avoided a direct hit but was still struck on the shoulder. A sound of cracking bones echoed, and his body flew sideways, bouncing on the ground.
Wei Wusheng stood up and said, "I said only one will leave standing."
He walked over, bent down to pick up the stone, and as he turned, he felt something. He clenched the stone tightly and turned back, seeing a figure with a sword approaching.
