Chapter 271: Chaos Breath
“Bloodscaled Fury.”
“This feels… incredible.”
Kai Xiusu gasped heavily, his breath ragged, instinctively licking his lips. His bloodshot eyes burned with frenzied ecstasy.
Yet the System’s notifications continued to flood in.

Fearsome Presence
The mere sight of a Bloodscaled Fury stirs primal terror. Its frenzied aura stirs chaos and dread within the hearts of all who witness it—awakening instinctive, overwhelming fear.
Draconic Fury
The fury of a Bloodscaled Fury becomes even more terrifying. When enraged, its Strength and Constitution gain +2, and its willpower becomes unbreakable—any control-based spell fails utterly against it.
Scales of Blood
The name is no exaggeration. When entering a frenzy, a steady trickle of blood seeps from the edges of its scales, outlining them in crimson. This not only amplifies its fearsome presence, but also grants supernatural protection—deflecting both magical and physical attacks.
“This… strength.”
Kai Xiusu lifted a claw, staring at the blood-streaked scales. A guttural, feral roar tore from his throat.
Muscles bulged like iron masses beneath his hide, and veins along his neck stood out like thick cords—pulsing with wrath, as if he were a beast born of divine fury.
The agonizing transformation had reshaped him. His body had swelled, now stretching over thirty meters in length, limbs and torso thickened and reinforced with raw, monstrous power.
With a thunderous, ear-splitting Long Roar, Kai Xiusu raised his head to the sky.
The sound itself was a wave of boiling rage—primitive, terrifying. It sent shockwaves through the land. Birds erupted from the mountains in panicked flocks, only to freeze mid-flight in terror, then plummet like stones, crashing lifelessly onto the ground.
Even the hardened Tiefling Guards—battle-scarred veterans—were overwhelmed. Several collapsed unconscious from sheer psychological pressure. This was the true might of Bloodscaled Fury.
If the current Kai Xiusu faced his former self in close combat, the result would have been catastrophic. The older version would have been torn apart, limb from limb—such was the devastating, overwhelming power of a祖代 Red Dragon, now amplified by Bloodscaled Fury.
Yet the transformation was still not complete. It refused to stop.
“Aaargh—”
The enraged Red Dragon roared again. Cracks spread across his body, widening like fissures in stone. Fiery light flickered beneath the surface, pulsing with each heartbeat.
With a violent thud, the Heart within him convulsed. The Heart of Karex flared with apocalyptic energy. The crystal embedded in his chest cracked—deep fissures spiderwebbing across its surface, from which countless threads of dark red light poured forth.
The light twisted reality itself, carving erratic, unpredictable patterns in the air. Within the Dragon Crystal, spirals of unnatural energy spun in chaotic, hypnotic motion.
Then, without control, Kai Xiusu tore open his Giant Blood-filled Maw, unleashing a torrent of dark red fire.
Boom—
The flames struck everything in their path—rock, earth, metal—and instantly shattered them into the tiniest particles, disintegrating into swirling, chaotic mist.
This was no ordinary fire.
It was the Purifying Flame—the very same one Kai Xiusu had witnessed in the Phantom Image.
And beyond the mountain, a wave of chaotic distortion rippled outward across the Northern Regions and the entire Anzeta.
Every spellcaster, from the deepest forests to the tallest towers, felt the unnatural, frenzied influence—its sheer magnitude shaking their very souls.
A storm of disbelief and dread swept through the magical community.

[You have absorbed fragments of Chaos and Destructive Divine Power from the Heart of Karex, unlocking the unique ability: Chaos Breath]
Chaos Breath
Karex returns periodically to the Prime Material Plane, unleashing purging flames of corruption upon the world. He is The Utter Null, the purifier of existence.
Natural decay and cosmic evolution inevitably lead to increasing chaos and entropy. But your breath accelerates this process—infusing all things with ultimate, irreversible chaos.
When Kai Xiusu finally came to, he slowly closed his maw.
The grand Main Palace had vanished—reduced to a vast, white wasteland. Around it, immense craters yawned into the earth.
Only the most fundamental particles remained—scattered, raw, and lifeless.
And within the inferno, a sea of chaotic fire raged on.
Standing amidst the destruction, Kai Xiusu smiled—a rapturous, almost divine expression. After a long moment, he reluctantly raised a claw and extinguished the flames, as if mourning the end of a beautiful, violent masterpiece.
“Chaos Breath.”
“Pure… divine strength.”
To the Red Dragon, this Purifying Flame seemed unstoppable. Nothing could resist it. Not magic. Not matter. Not even existence itself.
Only oblivion remained.
“Master—”
Kai Xiusu turned.
There, soaring through the air, was Lanpu, the Cannibal Magician, descending in a panicked rush.
Lanpu landed with a thunderous crash, panting heavily. “Y-You… did you feel it? The Weave of Magic…”
He hadn’t finished the sentence when a wave of instinctive terror surged through him. Cold sweat poured down his face. His hands flew to his mouth, trembling.
“I—I said…”
“No one is allowed to approach this place.”
The Red Dragon’s eyes glowed crimson, radiating lethal intent. The aura of blood and fury spread like a plague, suffocating the air.
Lanpu, even at three meters tall, felt his knees buckle. For the first time in his life, he knew true, soul-crushing fear. He had never seen a master so terrifying—so utterly beyond mortal comprehension.
He collapsed to his knees, his massive body shaking uncontrollably. His grotesque face twisted with terror, yet he held onto his wits by sheer will.
“M-Master… I-I’m sorry… I forgot… I didn’t mean to—”
He held his breath, waiting.
Then—finally—the oppressive aura lessened.
His heart sank back into his chest—but he did not relax. Not yet.
“Never again.”
Kai Xiusu’s voice was cold, like ice.
He would not tolerate even the slightest intrusion into his power—no matter how loyal the subordinate.
“So… what is it?”
The question struck like a blade.
Lanpu’s forehead broke out in cold sweat again. His heart hammered.
He had wanted to report the anomaly in the Weave of Magic—but now, he realized, this was the source.
The disturbance wasn’t external.
It was his master—the very thing Kai Xiusu now guarded as a forbidden treasure.
To probe further would be suicide.
After years of power and dominance, Lanpu felt the old, familiar dread of being at the mercy of a god.
He thought fast—scouring his mind for recent intelligence.
Finally, he spoke, carefully:
“It’s… Lakanman Castle. The prohibition there… it’s loosening.”
“Mortifer?”
A flicker of hunger sparked in Kai Xiusu’s eyes.
“Perfect. I’ve been waiting for a chance to test this strength.”
He licked his lips, excitement flaring.
But he did not see it—the faint, pure will to destroy, now flickering deep within his pupils.
