Chapter 27: Is Xu Xu Baby Cheating Too?
Chapter 27: Is Xu Xu Baby Cheating Too?
Chen Mo’s sudden Uchiha-style laughter caught Wang Lei and Wang Teng off guard. They exchanged confused glances.
“Chen Mo, what’s so funny?” Wang Lei asked.
“Oh, I just remembered something amusing.”
“Like what?”
“My wife gave birth to a baby!”
The two Wangs: “Huh?!”
Chen Mo would’ve laughed at their reactions, but he had no intention of revealing his system to anyone—not even close friends. Some secrets were too dangerous to trust others with. He had no desire to end up dissected in an Fbi lab.
After exchanging a few more casual remarks, Chen Mo opened QQ to contact the merchants he’d traded with the previous night about selling his Light Cards. Unfortunately, whether due to the early hour or the merchants’ nocturnal habits, none of them were online. With no choice, he left messages for each one.
Dai Dai Da Shi Xiong: Contact me tonight when you’re online. Big business to discuss.
He checked the time at the bottom right of his screen—9:30 AM. Exactly twenty-five hours had passed since his transmigration. After a day and night of relentless gaming with barely any rest, even Chen Mo’s legendary stamina was wearing thin.
“Yawn… Hey, Old Wang, Tengzi, I’m heading back to sleep!”
“Yeah, watch your back on the way. Don’t get molested!” Wang Teng teased.
Chen Mo: “……”
Leaving the two Wangs behind, he walked toward the dormitory behind the internet cafe. Navigating the dim corridor and dodging piles of junk in the narrow path, he finally reached a weathered bungalow—employee housing for the cafe.
The door creaked open with a grating screeeak. Chen Mo stepped inside, bracing himself, but even so, his lips twitched in dismay. The room was a dump: two peeling bunk beds, a grimy wooden desk, a wardrobe missing its doors, and a wobbly electric fan dangling from the ceiling.
“Damn… I’d forgotten how miserable my old life was. This is worse than a concentration camp!”
Still, his exhausted body had no energy to complain further. He flopped onto his bed, fan humming overhead, and fell asleep within minutes.
---
Hours later, Chen Mo jolted awake, stripped off his sweat-soaked underwear, and stood up. It wasn’t a sudden burst of passion for Crescent Sky Slash—the heat was unbearable. The stagnant air hovered above 40°C, and the fan’s sluggish rotations were useless. Even bare-skinned, he was drenched in sweat.
“Damn it! Once I sell these Light Cards tonight, I’m moving somewhere else. This place is unlivable!”
He splashed cold water over himself, realizing sleep was futile. Drying off, he dressed and headed back to the cafe.
Inside, Wang Teng was gone, but Wang Lei sat in a corner, engrossed in something on-screen. Chen Mo approached, skeptical—was he already watching that in broad daylight?
But instead of a lewd video, Wang Lei was watching Dnf content—none other than Big Ma Hou’s livestream. The streamer was tackling a legendary challenge: Ice Dragon Skarsa’s Nest.
“Wait, Xu Xu Baby?!” Chen Mo blurted.
“Huh? Chen Mo, why’re you here so early?” Wang Lei replied.
“Too hot to sleep. I nearly melted in my underwear!”
Wang Lei chuckled. “You’ve got no survival skills. Our dorm’s like a sauna—others pay for that kind of ‘luxury’!”
After teasing him, Wang Lei grew curious. “Why the shock at Xu Xu Baby’s name? You know him?”
“Nah, just thought the name sounded cute. Figured he might be a girl.”
“Girl? Please! He’s a hardcore male streamer—and a cheater to boot!” Wang Lei scoffed.
“Cheating?” Chen Mo leaned in. “What kind of dirt’s he got?”
“He streams himself claiming he’s ‘redeeming Red-Eye’s reputation’ while using hacks! Total PR stunt!”
On-screen, Xu Xu Baby’s Red-Eye entered the Ice Dragon’s lair.
Mountain Splitter!
Rage Burst!
Three health bars vanished instantly. Then, a frenzy of slashes:
Mountain Shattering Slash!
Rage Burst!
Fourteen seconds later—Ice Dragon Skarsa’s Nest cleared. The timer flashed: 1 minute, 42 seconds!
“See?!” Wang Lei threw his hands up. “Even if I weren’t a Red-Eye main, I’d never believe this! This record’s impossible without hacks! Toxic King or Grenadier can’t do this!”
Chen Mo frowned. “Maybe he’s legit. Red-Eye’s weak in the Level 60 version, sure—but timing depends on gear, skills, and strategy, not just class.”
“Bull! No way!” Wang Lei snapped.
Chen Mo grabbed the mouse, rewinding the video. “Watch. Let me break it down…”
