Chapter 268: Snape's Disappointment
Chapter 268: Snape's Disappointment
"Are you ready, Kyle?" Newt asked, standing on the empty field outside the room, replied, "If we leave now, we should be able to make it just in time for the banquet."
That was true...
Kyle looked up at the darkening sky, thinking that it was indeed the time for the train's arrival, unless something unexpected happened.
But there was something he couldn't quite understand.
Newt had said he would send him to Hogwarts, so why was he standing so far away? And why did Fox suddenly land on his shoulder?
Kyle cleared his throat, as if considering a possibility.
He looked at Newt and asked tentatively, "You're sending me to Hogwarts, right?"
"Actually, I just received a letter," Newt said, turning his head away and avoiding Kyle's gaze. "The black dragon on Herbibary Islands seems a bit off, and I need to go check on it immediately."
"Due to the urgency, I can only have Fox send you back to school."
Upon hearing Newt's words, Kyle's entire being seemed to freeze, and he stared at Newt with a hint of disappointment.
"Ahem, I know that the Phoenix's Apparition isn't very comfortable, but... well... it's not that bad either," Newt added, feeling more guilty as he saw the look in Kyle's eyes.
"And besides Dumbledore, you're probably the only wizard favored by the Phoenix, which is a rare opportunity..."
"If it's this kind of opportunity, then I'd rather not," Kyle thought to himself.
The Phoenix's method of travel was not just "uncomfortable"; it was a mind-blowing experience in the entire magical world.
Every time he thought about yesterday's experience during this period, his legs would tremble uncontrollably, and he still hadn't fully recovered from it.
"I can go back on my own," Kyle said, extending his hand and glancing at the ring on his finger.
He still had two chances to use the Phoenix's Apparition, and he could easily return to school by himself.
Or, as long as Fox left his shoulder, even if he used up both opportunities, it wouldn't be a problem.
Unfortunately, Fox didn't give him that chance.
Perhaps feeling rejected for the first time, Fox seemed a bit unhappy. Without any warning, it tightened its claws and spread its wings.
Once again, Kyle saw the familiar red light before his eyes... He only caught a glimpse of Newt's incredible agility as he quickly darted over and tossed a fruit into his pocket.
And then... there was no more.
He was once again transformed into a "Traveling Ball," being mercilessly struck by a stick.
At the same time, in the underground classroom at Hogwarts.
Harry and Ron were huddled in a corner, their bodies covered in dirt as if they had just rolled in the mud.
But the reality was far worse... They hadn't even entered the station; instead, they had flown all the way from King's Cross Station in Mr. Weasley's nine-handed modified Ford car.
After flying to Hogwarts, the car had crashed into a Whomping Willow. If it hadn't miraculously started again, they would have likely been beaten into a custard fruit tart by those frenzied branches.
The experience of this journey could only be described as thrilling and heart-pounding, comparable to the excitement of encountering Voldemort last year.
At least, that's how Harry felt.
Currently, the two of them were anxiously watching the row of professors in front of them, including Dumbledore, the headmaster, in the middle.
"Are we expelled...?" Ron asked despairingly.
"Not today, Mr. Weasley," Dumbledore said sternly, looking at them with a serious expression. "But I must make you understand the severity of your actions.
I'll be writing to your parents tonight, and I must also warn you that if this behavior continues, I'll have no choice but to expel you."
Snape's expression was as if he had heard that a troll was coming to his class, his face looking longer than a Niffler.
"Professor Dumbledore, these two students have severely damaged a precious ancient tree, disregarding the Minor Wizard Regulation Act. Of course, this behavior should..."
"Bang!"
Before he could finish his sentence, a flash of fire suddenly erupted in front of him.
The next second, a person and a bird suddenly appeared in the underground classroom.
"It's you..."
When Severus Snape recognized the visitor, his expression changed... into one of great pleasure.
Great, the troll who came for class is gone!
"Another young wizard who didn't take the school bus..." Snape drawled. "It seems that Hogwarts' expulsion list will be quite long this year."
"Oh, what's going on here?"
Professor McGonagall was also startled. She looked at Kyle, leaning against the wall with one hand on his head and the other on his stomach, looking as if he had consumed some counterfeit alcohol.
"What's wrong with him?"
"It's fine, Minerva. Don't worry," Dumbledore said with a startled expression, then laughed heartily. "He's just not used to the Phoenix's Apparition method. He'll be fine in a while."

Apparition...
Professor McGonagall realized they were inside the castle, where Apparition was prohibited.
However, after glancing at Fox on Kyle's shoulder, she stopped talking.
Obviously, like house-elves, Phoenixes were not affected by such rules.
"Oh, Fox... It's great to see you." Dumbledore said happily. "I was just wondering where you had gone."
Fox turned her head to the side, ignoring him.
Dumbledore wasn't upset.
The fact that Fox had come directly to his underground classroom was already very telling.
At this moment, Kyle took out the fruits Newt had given him and popped two into his mouth.
Biting into them, the sour and bitter taste exploded in his mouth, finally providing some relief.
He looked at the familiar faces before him in a daze. "Is this... Hogwarts?"
"To be precise, it's the underground classroom," Dumbledore explained. "Fox came directly to find me, and I happened to have some matters to attend to here."
That's right...
Kyle noticed the bottles and jars on the surrounding shelves, filled with various parts... Only Snape's underground classroom would have such things.
...Oh, he was here too.
Kyle saw Snape, who seemed to have encountered something pleasant and was still smiling.
"Let Professor McGonagall decide the punishment for these two students, Severus," Dumbledore said to Snape.
Then he walked to Kyle's side.
"Although you missed the Sorting Hat ceremony, the food at the feast was still good. Come with me. Your friends must be worried about you."
"Wait, Professor Dumbledore... Have you forgotten something?" Snape suddenly frowned. "What about the punishment?"
He also realized that Dumbledore probably wouldn't expel anyone, but he couldn't just let it go so lightly, could he?
"He didn't violate any school rules, Severus."
Dumbledore calmly said, "Hogwarts allows students to return to school in alternative ways, of course, as long as they're not seen by too many Muggles."
Dumbledore glanced at Harry and Ron, then continued, "Come on, Severus. Leave this to Minerva.
There's a custard fruit tart that looks quite delicious. I'd like to try it."
Snape wanted to say something more, but he was pulled out of the office.
His mood was complicated.
The troll who had just left returned... and brought along an entire family of trolls.
