Upon hearing Gousaburou's words, Kaiba was first stunned, frozen in place for a few seconds before he let out a boisterous laugh.
"What kind of lame joke is this, Gousaburou?"
Gousaburou remained unperturbed and simply said, "Of course, I expected as much from your reaction, Seto. It's only because you're still shackled by your mortal coils, unable to view the situation from a higher perspective.
But no matter, I'll help you see clearly."
He extended his hand, and streams of data converged onto his arm, transforming into the shape of a Duel Disk.
"Whoa, interesting," Kaiba narrowed his eyes, "Are you challenging me to a duel?"
"When you were but a child, you defeated me in the realm of chess, the very domain I took the most pride in, thus earning yourself the opportunity to enter the Kaiba Corporation," Gousaburou stated.
"And now, I challenge you in the domain you excel at the most. Well, Seto, do you accept?"
"Heh, interesting. The other you said the same thing right before you died," Kaiba chuckled.
"I told you, I'm not like the defective products of the old era," Gousaburou said indifferently, "Our intelligence, dueling prowess, and computational abilities have far surpassed your imagination."
He paused for a moment and then laughed softly.
"Fujiki You Xuan, I've noticed that young man has caught your eye. You see potential in him, don't you?"
"Is that why you've targeted him? Because of my interest?" Kaiba asked.
"That's one aspect," Gousaburou paused, "As it happens, he has now entered our domain as well. The most advanced AI I've created should have located him by now.
Let me show you the strength of us new-generation AIs after our evolution."
Gousaburou waved his hand, and an image soon projected into the space before them.
It was a live broadcast of You Xuan and Delta dueling.
You Xuan: "'Wind Emperor-Raiser', return 'Darkness Dragon Storm' to the top of your opponent's deck!"

AI donned a mask of pain, teetering on the edge of rampage.

"Conscription," You Xuan declared, "Special Summon the 'Darkness Dragon Storm' from the top of your deck to my field."
Delta had lost all will to live.
Gousaburou silently cut off the live feed.
Hmm, it must be that I'm opening it wrong.
Kaiba, on the other hand, was highly satisfied with You Xuan's performance, unable to suppress the upward curl of his lips. Although the image had been cut off, the outcome of the duel was clear. He turned his head toward Gousaburou and sneered, as if in ridicule.

A small indicator light illuminates on the white-robed magician.
"Then I activate the Magic Card 'Magic Mastery.' Add a Magic Counter to a card on the field that can hold them. Skilled White Magus gains a counter due to the activation, and another one from the effect of 'Magic Mastery.' Thus, Skilled White Magus now has three Magic Counters."
Three indicator lights are lit up on the white-robed magician.
"After that, I can add another 'Magic Mastery' from my deck to my hand." Gousaburou draws a new Magic Card from his deck.
"Now, I tribute Skilled White Magus, who has three Magic Counters! When this card is Tributed, I can Special Summon this card from my hand, deck, or graveyard!" Gousaburou raises his arm and shouts.

Of course, he was familiar with this card. After all, it was one of the signature cards of his only rival, Yami Yugi. In their fateful duel at Battle City, his Blue-Eyes White Dragon had fallen to the combined might of Dark Magician and Buster Blader.
"Indeed, Seto. It's the perfect warrior to counter your current strategy," Gousaburou says.
Kaiba sneers, "Impressive. If it were 'his' Buster Blader, there might be something to fear. But can a third-rate duelist like you truly control it?"
Gousaburou doesn't respond. "I set three cards and end my turn."
"My turn, draw!" Kaiba draws a card.
"First, I activate the Magic Card 'Dragon's Awakening Melody!' Discard one card to add up to two Dragon-Type monsters with 3000 or more ATK and 2500 or less DEF from your deck to your hand!" Kaiba discards a card and then draws two new cards.
"Then, I reveal 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' in my hand and Special Summon 'Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon!'"

"Buster Blader's effect increases its ATK by 500 for each Dragon-Type monster on the field or in the graveyard," Gousaburou explains. "You summoned a Dragon, so its ATK increases to 3100."

"It doesn't matter," Kaiba scoffs. "Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon's effect allows me to destroy one of your monsters once per turn, at the cost of skipping my Battle Phase. Even the Dragoslayer is useless in the hands of a third-rate swordsman."
Kaiba waves his hand dismissively. "Get off the field, Buster Blader!"
"Then I activate my face-down Trap, 'Skill Lock!' Select one card I control. Monster effects that target that card are negated this turn. I protect Buster Blader from Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon's effect with 'Skill Lock.' Therefore, the effect of Azure-Eyes targeting Buster Blader is negated."
An invisible shield envelops Buster Blader, causing the light beam fired by Azure-Eyes to fizzle out upon impact, failing to deal any real damage.
"Looks like it won't be that easy, Seto," Gousaburou says.
"Well, the White Dragon's attack has been blocked, and Buster Blader's ATK has surpassed that of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Summoning more Dragons will only make it stronger. What will you do now?"
