Chapter 266: Enrollment
Chapter 266: Enrollment
In the office of Principal Fei of the Cultivation College, Li Qian curiously surveyed the room and found that it was a little different from what he had imagined.
"Does it feel a bit different?" Principal Fei chuckled and brought up the topic.
Li Qian agreed, "Indeed, it's a bit different."
The office was spacious but a bit chaotic, clearly divided into two distinct halves.
The left side was the work area, slightly tidier, while the right side resembled a laboratory, filled with various equipment, instruments, test tubes, and books scattered everywhere, leaving one's eyes spinning.
Principal Fei let out a bitter laugh, "I have no choice. There's too much official work to handle daily, leaving no time for research, so I had to set it up like this."
Li Qian was surprised by this, "You're still doing research!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he realized his words might have been inappropriate, so he quickly added, "I didn't mean to say you don't do research; I just thought you might not have the time for it."
"Haha..." Principal Fei laughed heartily, "No need to worry, I won't take offense. In fact, many people in my position might not engage in hands-on research work."
"It's not that they don't want to, but once they take on this role, they may not have the time for specific research tasks."
Li Qian understood and nodded, agreeing with Principal Fei's statement.
Moreover, he had a good impression of Principal Fei, who wasn't the typical high-and-mighty "manager" but a very practical person.
After a quick scan of the office, Li Qian asked curiously, "What are you researching lately?"
"I'm working on a potion that can promote positive mutations in Shadowhounds."
Principal Fei explained, "My research space is limited, and my research time is fragmented, so I can only focus on small projects like this."
"Research has no distinction of high or low, noble or humble," Li Qian said.
Of course, this was just a polite remark.
Li Qian knew, and Principal Fei understood even better.
How could research not have distinctions of high or low, noble or humble? The impact of research outcomes and funding were the criteria.
Both individuals were intelligent, knowing which topics were appropriate for discussion and which were off-limits, so they swiftly changed the subject.
Thus, the two conversed and laughed, their interaction more like a friendship between two people of different ages than a typical student-principal encounter.
Of course, describing it as a friendship between two people of different ages might not be entirely accurate, as Principal Fei only appeared old; in reality, he was still young and vigorous.
Through his conversation with Li Qian, Principal Fei also gained some insights, unlike his interactions with other students, where he did most of the talking, and the students couldn't contribute much due to the gap in knowledge.
This demonstrated that Li Qian's abilities were not just a result of good luck but a testament to his genuine talent.
After chatting for a while, a school staff member, possibly an assistant or a logistics teacher, entered and reported.
Based on the report, Li Qian's enrollment process was complete, and even his accommodation was already arranged.
Hearing this report, Li Qian was still surprised.
How much time had passed? The entire process was completed so efficiently, truly remarkable.
"Well, Principal Fei, I'll be heading out now.
"After exchanging greetings, Li Qian followed the young logistics teacher out of the office building of the Cultivation College."
The campus, spanning over 10,000 acres, was indeed vast. Walking around on foot could be tiring.
As soon as they left the office building, the logistics teacher, Mr. Jin, led Li Qian onto a small bus resembling a tourist sightseeing vehicle.
The mini-bus moved along at a moderate pace, neither too fast nor too slow, making it ideal for sightseeing within the school grounds.
"Our Shazhou Imperial Beast University, just the main campus alone, covers an area of 13,200 acres, and we have eight departments..." Mr. Jin, like Yi Hongling before, began to talk enthusiastically.
Li Qian listened casually, paying closer attention when something caught his interest and tuning out when it didn't.
However, from Mr. Jin and Yi Hongling's words, it was evident that Shazhou Imperial Beast University had a strong academic atmosphere.
Otherwise, they wouldn't all have such a proud and boastful demeanor.
The electric mini-bus continued at a steady pace, and after about ten minutes, they arrived in front of a dormitory building by the lake.
The dormitory building was not tall, with only five floors. Its white walls and dark-tiled roof stood out elegantly against the backdrop of lush trees and shimmering water.
Just one glance was enough for Li Qian to take a liking to this dormitory building.
"Is this my dormitory?" Li Qian asked, his eyes scanning the building as he spoke. There were only five such dormitories surrounding the lake, each with a unique design.
Mr. Jin also looked at the dormitory building, a hint of envy flashing in his eyes. "Yes, Li Qian, this will be your residence from now on."
"This is the dormitory specially prepared by Shazhou Imperial Beast University for exceptional talents and some outstanding faculty members. Each unit is a standard one-bedroom apartment, fully furnished with appliances." Mr. Jin introduced.
Li Qian nodded in satisfaction upon hearing this.
As a specially recruited talent, it was expected that Shazhou Imperial Beast University would offer such treatment, which was also within Li Qian's expectations.
"Thank you, Mr. Jin," Li Qian smiled and followed Mr. Jin's footsteps into the nearest dormitory building.
"Xianya Courtyard, Building Three."
Li Qian glanced at the number on the dormitory building and entered without hesitation.
Upon entering Building Three, they quickly took the elevator, and soon Li Qian, accompanied by Mr. Jin, arrived at his dormitory.
"Want to try it?" Mr. Jin pointed at a liquid crystal display on the dormitory door and guided Li Qian.
Without hesitation, Li Qian walked over.
The liquid crystal display scanned his appearance, and with a beep, the door unlocked.
Li Qian understood that the school must have registered his facial data during the enrollment process.
The efficiency was indeed impressive.
As he pushed open the door and stepped inside, he saw that the apartment was not large. It was a one-bedroom unit, totaling around 40 square feet. However, as it didn't require much furnishing, it appeared spacious, and the space didn't feel cramped.
"How is it?" Mr. Jin also surveyed the interior and asked.
Li Qian smiled and replied honestly, "It's great, Mr. Jin. Thank you for your efforts."
Whether it was arranged by Principal Fei himself or not, and whether Mr. Jin had put in the effort or not, the saying goes that many hands make light work, and being polite doesn't cost a thing. Li Qian naturally wouldn't hold back on expressing his gratitude.
