Chapter 266: Could It Be You?
Chapter 266: Could It Be You?
"Fang."
Fang's eyes glowed blue, and he used his Psychic Power to send Treasure Seeker back to its training area, signaling for it to train diligently and not slack off.
"Xun..."
Treasure Seeker was taken aback.
What about the acting?
"Lulu!"
Aquariana pointed at the tiles she had just arranged and called out to Treasure Seeker.
Hurry up and train!
Treasure Seeker: "..."
Qiao Sang watched from a distance, and for some reason, it felt like a scene where parents were urging their child to study.
That night, Treasure Seeker, looking like a thief, peeked out the door to make sure Aquariana wasn't in the living room. Then, it turned to pout and asked Fang why he didn't cooperate with the act.
"Fang?" Fang looked puzzled.
"Xunxun!" Treasure Seeker accused.
Just now, in the courtyard!
"Fang."
Fang's eyes widened, realizing that it was all an act.
Qiao Sang, half-reclining on the bed, put down her book and said almost simultaneously with Fang, "So you were just acting!"
"Xun."
Treasure Seeker's body wobbled as if it had been severely struck.
At that moment, Treasure Seeker deeply doubted its acting skills.
"Actually, there's no rush", Qiao Sang said. "We should wait until Aquariana's proficiency in Healing Light reaches Mastery before we act it out for her. It's still early, and we can do it in a few days."
Seeing that Treasure Seeker still looked deeply hurt, she consoled, "Fortunately, no one noticed you were acting just now. If Aquariana hadn't reached Mastery in Healing Light and you had evolved prematurely, it wouldn't have been good."
"Fang!"
Fang nodded vigorously in agreement.
"Xun."
Treasure Seeker's body wobbled again.
Why do I feel even worse?
At 2:30 AM, in the quiet of the night.
Treasure Seeker held a mobile phone in the dark living room, mimicking the facial expressions of actors in the videos.
Yang Du, yawning, came out of his room to use the bathroom. He noticed a faint light downstairs and instinctively leaned over the railing to look down, instantly feeling a chill and all his drowsiness vanishing.
The light from the mobile phone screen illuminated the face of the Treasure Hunter Demon, which was much smaller than normal, creating a very eerie atmosphere.
If it were just that, he wouldn't have been scared, as he had encountered many Ghost Familiars before. However, the Treasure Hunter Demon had a sad expression one moment and then a wide, silent grin the next, giving off a distinctly horror-movie vibe.
Yang Du hurried back to his room, not even wanting to use the bathroom anymore.
Treasure Seeker, mimicking the serious expression from the video, had no idea it had just extinguished someone's desire to use the bathroom.
The next day.
Qiao Sang arrived at the classroom, where the study gods were as usual meditating.
After Morning Study, a classmate suddenly exclaimed, "Damn! Where's my breakfast?!"
Everyone turned to look. "What happened?"
"I bought breakfast and put it in my drawer, but it's gone!"
The classmate's words were met with disbelief.
"That's impossible. Maybe you should look again."
"Did you even bring it to class?"
"Maybe you just forgot."
Only Qiao Sang stood there, a bad feeling creeping over her.
She turned her head, covering half her face with her hand, and whispered, "Could it be you?"
No one answered.
About half a minute later, the classmate who had lost his breakfast shouted again, "What the heck, my breakfast is back!"
He excitedly pulled the bag of breakfast from his drawer and opened it. The next second, his expression fell.
A mournful cry echoed through the classroom, "Who ate half of my breakfast?!"
That day, the entire school received the news: the familiar that had been stealing snacks from the Junior Year Division had likely moved on to the Senior Year Division.
At 6:57 PM.
Qiao Sang was doing homework in her room.
"Lulu." Aquariana flowed in through the door crack, condensed into her original form, and nudged Qiao Sang with her paw.
Qiao Sang turned her head in surprise. "You mean Rain Invocation?"
"Lulu!"
Aquariana nodded, sitting on the ground and counting on its claws with a serious expression.
It had been several days!
"Um, I have an idea for how to learn Rain Invocation, but for now, we still need to focus most of our time on practicing Healing Light", Qiao Sang said.
"Lulu!"
Aquariana put down its claws, which it hadn't finished counting, and nodded to show it understood.
Qiao Sang put down her pen and led Aquariana to a part of the Courtyard that hadn't been affected by Mars Rain. She said earnestly, "To cast Rain Invocation, you first need to turn the clouds into dark clouds. Dark clouds are formed by Mist Drops. Your first step is to figure out how to condense Mist Drops."
"Lulu?"
Aquariana called out, asking what Mist Drops were.
"Mist Drops are the tiny water droplets that make up fog", Qiao Sang explained. "You know Water Mist, which is a form of fog, just in a different shape. Try to gather and condense Water Mist as much as possible, and see if you can turn it into Mist Drops."
"Lulu!"
Aquariana nodded and immediately began to regulate its energy.
Soon, a white, gauzy mist enveloped the area, making the air more humid.
"Lulu." Aquariana tried to condense the Water Mist.
Gradually, the mist darkened, and the air became even more humid.
But the mist quickly dispersed.
"Great, it looks like we're on the right track. With more practice, you should be able to make the conversion smoothly", Qiao Sang smiled.
"Lulu!" Aquariana nodded vigorously, feeling the same way!
"However, for now, the main focus should still be on practicing Healing Light. If you want to practice Rain Invocation, wait until Treasure Seeker isn't busy with Tile Split", Qiao Sang reminded.
Actually, once you evolve, you can practice whenever you want, Qiao Sang added silently in her mind. She didn't dare say this out loud, fearing that Aquariana would remember its unfortunate evolution condition.
"Lulu!" Aquariana showed a "no problem" expression.
For the next six days, Fangy, Treasure Seeker, and Aquariana continued their training routine.
The only addition was sparring practice.
According to the original schedule, there shouldn't have been any time for sparring practice except on weekends. However, to help Aquariana gain Points quickly, Qiao Sang had to speed up her homework, completing it an hour faster than usual.
There was no choice; at Aquariana's current training pace, it would be difficult to reach Mastery in Healing Light before evolution without the help of a Golden Finger.
At the Heng Eagle Beast Combat Club, in the sparring practice room.
The sparring session was nearly over. Qiao Sang glanced at the time and called out, "Water Spray."
In the next moment, a Puffbird fell in front of Aquariana.
"Lulu."
Aquariana flicked its tail and walked proudly to Qiao Sang's side.
"Your Puffbird's speed is decent, but its flight path is a bit predictable, making it easy to anticipate", Qiao Sang pointed out.
The 16-year-old girl, who had been standing there, suddenly looked surprised. "My Puffbird's speed is decent, really?!"
Qiao Sang paused for a moment. "Among its kind, it's decent."
Girl: "."
That night, after Qiao Sang finished washing up, she returned to her room and lay on the bed. She entered the Beastmaster Codex and flipped to Aquariana's page, adding Points to Healing Light as she had done before.
Soon, the data in front of her changed.
[Healing Light (Mastery 10001/20000) +]
