Chapter 265: Win-Win Cooperation (Second Update)
Chapter 265: Win-Win Cooperation (Second Update)
"Oh no, what do we do now?"
Sakura looked down at the first floor, which had been turned into a mess by the Water Card, and felt a headache coming on.
If the security guards saw this, there would be no explaining it.
"Don't worry, it's a small problem."
Jerry summoned a large amount of magic power and stretched out his hand, whispering a spell toward the first floor:
"Repair Spell!"
Instantly, the entire first floor seemed to experience a time reversal. The water and fish that had flowed out of the broken glass returned to their original positions, and the shattered glass became whole again. The tables, chairs, and utensils that had been swept away by the water also returned to their places.
In less than five seconds, the first floor was completely restored to its state before they arrived.
The Repair Spell can fix broken ordinary items and return them to their original state, provided they do not possess magic power. If this spell is studied more deeply, it can not only repair items but also restore their original arrangement, as demonstrated just now.
However, the longer the time span and the wider the area to be restored, the more magic power is consumed, sometimes even increasing exponentially.
Fortunately, Jerry's magic power far exceeded that of an ordinary witch. Restoring the aquarium's first floor to its state from just a few minutes ago was well within his capabilities.
"Wow, Brother Jerry is so amazing!"
Seeing Jerry use magic to restore the first floor, Sakura and Tomoyo, two young girls who had only recently been introduced to magic, looked on in amazement.
Kero, upon seeing Jerry's use of magic, immediately exclaimed:
"Time Magic!"
Among the Clow Cards, there is one that embodies Clow Reed's understanding of time magic, the "Time" card. As the Seal Beast, Kero, of course, was familiar with time magic.
However, time magic is an extremely advanced form of magic. In this world, apart from his master Clow Reed, Kero had never heard of any mage who could wield such powerful magic.
Therefore, Kero was genuinely surprised that Jerry could use time magic. In Kero's view, this young mage, who had suddenly appeared, might still be far from matching his deceased master, Clow Reed, in terms of overall power. But he was certainly more powerful than most of the mages Kero had encountered.
Thus, Kero was even more curious about why Jerry was here and why he was helping Sakura capture the Clow Cards.
"Grab my hand, we need to leave now!"
Hearing the footsteps approaching the entrance of the first floor, Jerry smiled and extended his hand to Sakura and Tomoyo.
Sakura and Tomoyo didn't hesitate, each grabbing one of Jerry's hands. Kero, moving quickly, grabbed onto the little finger Jerry had left for him.
"Phantom Shift!"
With a crackle, the three humans and one creature vanished from the spot.
Less than two seconds after they disappeared, five uniformed staff members, flashlights in hand, rushed into the first floor.
"Huh, nothing's here. But who turned on all the lights?"
After a quick search of the aquarium's main hall, the five staff members found nothing and turned off the lights, returning to their posts.
Near a large van outside the penguin park,
the three humans and one creature reappeared.
"Wow, I'm so dizzy!"
Sakura, Tomoyo, and Kero, upon reappearing, clutched their heads, feeling disoriented.
For those not yet accustomed to the Phantom Shift, being teleported can be quite disorienting.
"Let me introduce myself again. I'm Mage Jerry Carmen from New York. Hello, Clow Reed's little Magic user!"
Seeing that the two girls and the creature had finally recovered from their dizziness, Jerry smiled and extended his hand to Sakura.
Sakura, a bit dazed, shook Jerry's hand.
"Hello, Jerry-oniisan."
"Do you have a purpose for coming here?"
At this moment, Kero flew between Jerry and Sakura, his eyes filled with a hint of wariness.
Although Jerry had helped them capture the Water Card, a foreign Mage specifically traveling to this small town and appearing near the Clow Cards was enough to raise suspicions.
"Are you the legendary, powerful, handsome, stylish, and elegant Seal Beast Kerberos of the Clow Cards?"
Jerry turned his gaze to Kero.
"Ha ha ha, yes, yes, yes, I didn't expect that after so many years, there would still be a Mage who knows of my existence!"
Hearing Jerry's adjectives, Kero placed his hands on his hips, a look of pride spreading across his face, and his hostility towards Jerry instantly diminished by half.
Sakura and Tomoyo, however, looked at Kero with disbelief. Those adjectives didn't seem to fit him at all.
"I came to Tomeda Town because of the Clow Cards!"
Jerry's words immediately caused Kero's expression to change.
"Of course, I'm not a thief. I'm not here to steal or collect the Clow Cards. You can rest assured, otherwise, I wouldn't have helped you just now!"
Seeing Kero's reaction, Jerry smiled and explained.
"In fact, I stumbled upon some information that the strongest Mage, Clow Reed, created the Clow Cards, which seemed to be in Tomeda Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. So, I was curious and decided to come and see for myself.
It turns out they are indeed here, and I've found their new master."
"Jerry-oniisan, since you're a Mage and so powerful, why don't you become the Magic user and help Kero collect the Clow Cards?"
Sakura's eyes lit up as she heard Jerry's explanation and suggested.
She had never volunteered to be the Clow Magic user; it was because she accidentally opened Clow's magic book and released the Clow Cards, feeling guilty.
As a fourth-grader, it was a huge responsibility to bear.
"Anyone can't just become the master of the Clow Cards. Since they chose you, there must be a reason. However, if you encounter any trouble while collecting the Clow Cards, I'd be happy to lend a hand, like I did today."
Jerry didn't accept Sakura's proposal.
Kero and Tomoyo also cast their votes against it.
Kero was firmly committed to Sakura, and Tomoyo wanted to continue filming the stylish and cool videos of Sakura using the Clow Cards in the outfits she designed.
Sakura, looking at the pleading faces of Kero and Tomoyo, could only sigh.
"Alright, then!"
She then bowed deeply to Jerry.
"Thank you, Jerry-oniisan, for your help today. I hope you can continue to assist Sakura in capturing the Clow Cards in the future!"
"It's no trouble at all. However, if it's convenient for you, I have a small request."
Jerry's smile grew even warmer.
"As a Mage, I want to create my own set of Magic cards. So, when Sakura captures a new Clow Card, could you lend it to me to study? I hope to gain some inspiration and experience from it."
"Of course, no problem!"
Sakura immediately nodded, relieved that it was such a simple request.
