Chapter 265: Norbert's Adventure with Norbert
Chapter 265: Norbert's Adventure with Norbert
"Who's that?" Tina asked as she placed a freshly baked tray of cookies on the table.
"It's Kyle," Newt said with a smile.
Tina looked up, surprised, as she had thought it was an old friend.
"Did you forget something?" she asked, handing the plate of cookies to Kyle.
"You could have just sent a letter and we would have delivered it to you. Why did you come all the way here?" Tina continued. "And Hogwarts starts tomorrow, right?"
Not long after returning from Paris, Kyle had visited Newt and Tina once and stayed for two days. This time, he had come not only because he was free but also because Fox had delivered the box early.
With the rare opportunity of obtaining the "Phoenix Travel Card," Kyle had planned to take Norbert and the giant away, so he wouldn't have to wait until the Christmas holidays.
However, Kyle hadn't expected the Phoenix's travel method to be so violent... If he had known, he might have waited until the Christmas holidays to come.
Kyle remained silent and placed the box in his hand on the wooden rack beside him.
Newt's eyebrows rose, and he instantly understood. He glanced at Fox on Kyle's shoulder and nodded silently.
"Oh... Is that a Phoenix?" Tina asked, noticing Fox and walking over in surprise. "Isn't Dumbledore here too? Why didn't you invite him in?"
"No, he should still be in Austria at this time," Newt shook his head. "It's just Kyle, Fox brought him here."
Tina was surprised and blinked at Newt's words.
Seeing a Phoenix without Dumbledore present was indeed a rare occurrence.
Tina then brought Kyle a glass of lemonade.
The lemonade was specially made, very sour, and had a slight bitterness, but it felt comfortable after drinking it.
Kyle recalled the fruit Newt had given him earlier, and they seemed to know how to alleviate that discomfort.
"Have you ever been Apparated by a Phoenix before?" Kyle asked curiously.
"That was a long time ago," Newt recalled. "I must say, the feeling was truly terrible and unforgettable."
Kyle nodded in deep agreement.
After finishing the lemonade, the two went into Newt's box without saying a word.
Soon after entering, Fox spread its wings and flew towards a forest not far away.
Kyle frowned, remembering that it was where the Quidditch birds lived, and various medicinal herbs were grown to treat sick magical creatures.
"Don't worry," Newt said, walking over from behind. "Although Phoenixes are proud, they don't reject Quidditch birds, so you don't need to worry about them."
Kyle tugged at the corner of his mouth.
He wasn't worried about the Quidditch birds; he was concerned about the herbs...
Fox was becoming more and more like a foodie. When it left just now, Kyle even heard the sound of drooling, clearly heading for a buffet! Seeing Newt's nonchalant expression, he obviously hadn't realized the seriousness of the situation yet.
But...
Forget it, Kyle shook his head and decided to remain silent.
Let Fox eat; the most important thing now was to make Fox happy and increase its favorability.
As for Newt's losses, Dumbledore could compensate him later. His family business was big, and a few herb losses wouldn't matter.
Kyle nodded and followed Newt to a huge lake.
The size of Newt's box was beyond his imagination...
Just like the lake before them, the Black Lake at school seemed like a small puddle in comparison.
In the center of the lake, there is an island covered in massive rocks, which is where the dragon resides.
The two of them rowed a small boat to the island.
As soon as they landed, Kyle suddenly felt a gust of wind from above and a large shadow enveloping his feet.
Realizing something, Kyle's finger twitched, and he used the ring Diana had given him last year to Apparate several hundred meters away.
The next second, a large Norwegian Ridgeback dragon crashed through the spot where Kyle had just been.
It was Norbert, who had a habit of crashing into Kyle's arms when he was younger.
Although Kyle had corrected this habit after Norbert grew up, perhaps due to not seeing each other for two months, Norbert's excitement caused him to forget about it.

"Norbert, calm down..."
Seeing Norbert turn around, preparing to charge again, Kyle hurriedly shouted.
Norbert had grown significantly in the past two months, and if he were to be hit by him, it could be fatal! Now that Diana wasn't at home, the Apparition method on the ring could only be used a limited number of times, and he didn't want to waste it here.
Hearing Kyle's words, Norbert finally stopped.
He slowly flew over and rubbed his head against Kyle's arm.
At this moment, Newt also approached, smiling as he said, "If you had come a couple of days later, he probably wouldn't have been so excited."
"That's true, but what can we do?" Kyle shrugged.
The last time he came, he had intended to visit Norbert, but at that time, Norbert had gotten into trouble with the original inhabitants of the box, a Hungarian Horntail that had been returned three times by the Romanian Dragon Reserve due to its bad temper.
After all, Norbert was still not fully grown, while the Hungarian Horntail was already an adult. After that beating, Norbert had been unconscious for several days before waking up, just missing Kyle's visit.
But there was a silver lining.
Newt told him that since waking up, Norbert's personality had become much more restrained. Although he didn't turn from a troublemaker into a good boy, he wasn't as mischievous as before.
As they spoke, Newt also took Kyle to see the Hungarian Horntail.
Perhaps out of concern for any unexpected incidents, Newt had never brought Kyle to this area before.
So this was Kyle's first time seeing the Horntail in the box.
It was a strong, black adult dragon. Sensing an unpleasant scent, it stood up on its hind legs, its neck raised high, and its orange-yellow eyes glared at Kyle and Newt.
Kyle noticed that the distance from its mouth to the ground was about sixty feet, making it a full circle larger than a typical adult Horntail.
No wonder it had been returned three times. If a dragon of this size were to suddenly go out of control, even ten wizards together would have a hard time controlling it.
"We have Norbert's scent on us, and she doesn't like that kid," Newt explained.
Kyle nodded, understanding the situation.
They didn't stay in this area for long. After leaving the dragon's island, Newt took Kyle to another area to see the giant.
This guy was quite comfortable. When Kyle approached, he was lying on the grass, hugging his wooden stick, and snoring loudly.
