Chapter 265: Asking for Trouble (Happy National Day, Everyone!!!)
Chapter 265: Asking for Trouble (Happy National Day, Everyone!!!)
However, to their surprise, the vehicle suddenly came to a halt.
A figure leaped out of the car, holding a gun, seemingly a sniper rifle.
"Hmph, looking for death!"
The two gunmen, seeing this, pulled their triggers from over two hundred meters away.
The dense barrage of bullets rained down on Jiang Cheng like a torrential downpour.
A 12.7mm heavy machine gun bullet, with its muzzle energy reaching nearly twenty thousand joules, could still pack a punch of over ten thousand joules even after traveling more than two hundred meters.
Even a Vajra Talisman would shatter in an instant under such firepower.
Thus, Jiang Cheng didn't bother activating his Vajra Talisman, allowing the bullets to pelt his face, chest, and arms.
The sensation was akin to being hit by BB pellets, slightly painful but entirely bearable.
The next moment, he aimed at the gunman on the left and fired continuously.
The first shot caused a white flash on the target's body.
The second shot blew half of the gunman's head, splattering the driver next to him.
"No! Something's wrong!"
The other gunman reacted, shouting, "He's a high-rank Force Knight! Retreat! Let's get out of here!"
To be fair, there were more powerful sniper rifles around that could threaten even a 6th Rank Force Samurai.
But firstly, who could tell if this guy was a 6th Rank or higher? Perhaps a 7th Rank or even stronger?
Secondly, if it were that easy to hit a target while riding in a bumpy vehicle, they wouldn't have used a heavy machine gun in the first place.
The two drivers immediately reacted, frantically maneuvering the steering wheel.
They had encountered such situations a time or two before.
After all, if you hang around the river long enough, you're bound to get wet.
But since the opponents were often only one or two people, they could split up and flee, making it challenging to pursue them. Of course, if they were unlucky enough to be caught, they'd have to accept their fate.
Those who survived would recruit new members, as there was no shortage of people willing to do this kind of work.
Fortunately, their opponent was currently standing outside the car with a gun in hand.
Getting back into the car and giving chase was almost impossible.
"Trying to run?"
Jiang Cheng let out a cold laugh.
It was a bit too late to think about running now.
He immediately aimed at the tires of both vehicles and fired a shot at each.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
The tires burst instantly.
The two off-road vehicles spun wildly, one of them losing control and flipping over.
Jiang Cheng, gripping his sniper rifle, quickly approached the overturned vehicle.
As the driver of the flipped car was thrown around, Jiang Cheng aimed directly at his head and pulled the trigger, also firing a couple of shots at the gunman inside, whose head was now half-missing.
They had killed many in this manner before, and now it seemed like heavenly justice had come full circle.
Then, he turned towards the other vehicle.
"Spare us! Spare us!"
From the stopped vehicle's driver's cabin, pleas for mercy could be heard.
Jiang Cheng looked up; the two inside were quite smart, hiding below the car window, out of sight.
But would that help? He fired directly downwards.
The off-road vehicle's steel plate was no match for the heavy sniper rifle, and it was easily pierced. Moments later, screams emanated from the cabin.
"Big Brother, we were wrong! We admit our mistake! Don't kill us; we'll give you all the money we have!"
Another plea for mercy followed.
"Yes, Big Brother, please spare us." Another voice echoed from inside.
Hearing this, Jiang Cheng's heart stirred.
"Alright, then open the door and come out, and we'll talk."
"What if you shoot us when we open the door?" one of them immediately asked.
"Yeah, yeah."
The other agreed.
"Even if you don't open the door, I can still shoot and kill you."
Jiang Cheng coldly smiled, "Enough, I don't have time to waste here. I'll count to three, and if you don't come out by then, you'll never come out again."
"Three!"
"Two!"
"We're coming out! We're coming out!"
The men inside shouted in panic, and then the car doors opened. Two men stepped out, each holding a gun, one of them a heavy sniper rifle.
"Die!" they roared, pulling the triggers.
They weren't fools; they knew the people outside would never let them go, only to kill them after getting the money.
So, their earlier actions were just a delay tactic, feigning surrender to catch their opponents off guard.
"Rat-a-tat-tat..."
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The gunshots continued.
Within seconds, the magazines were empty.
To their surprise, they realized no one was in front of them.
"Surprised?"
Suddenly, a voice spoke from outside the car window behind them.
Before they could react, their arms and thighs were shot, exploding with pain.
Jiang Cheng then dragged them out of the driver's cabin and threw them to the ground.
"You!"
The two men's eyes were filled with pain and disbelief.
How did their opponent know their intentions? How did he hide behind the car door, unseen?
Jiang Cheng's eyes showed disdain.
These men thought they were safe behind the car door, their small actions unseen.
Unbeknownst to them, at such close range, Jiang Cheng used his mental energy to see everything clearly.
"Now, I'll give you two a choice."
He extended a finger.
"One, transfer the money honestly, and I'll make your deaths less painful after receiving it."
"Two, refuse to transfer, and I'll break every bone in your bodies, letting you die in agony."
"Choose."
The two men, covered in blood, looked at each other, their eyes filled with sorrow and infinite regret.
If only they had quit while they were ahead.
Now, they had put their lives at stake.
As for the choice their opponent offered, wasn't it the same tactic they often used on others?
"We're telling the truth! We have an account, but it's empty; we've spent all the money," the gunmen laughed bitterly.
"Yes, it's because we're broke that we're out here doing this so early," the driver added, his eyes filled with fear.
He could almost see their opponent's rage.
"Is that so?" Jiang Cheng's voice turned cold, and he stomped on one of the men's leg bones, breaking it.
The man in pain couldn't speak, nearly passing out.
"Big Brother, we're not lying! We really spent all our money! Even if you mutilate us, the result will be the same!" The other man was terrified, tears streaming down his face.
They earned money quickly but spent it just as fast.
A trip to the club cost at least ten thousand each, not to mention the resources for cultivation, leaving no room to save.
Jiang Cheng broke a few more bones, and after confirming the same story, he simply shot both men in the head. Asking further was a waste of time and might attract unwanted attention.
As Nightingale predicted, getting money from these men was nearly impossible, but the guns were a different story. There were plenty of heavy machine guns, at least five or six, and two heavy sniper rifles. Even at half the resale price, they were worth over five hundred thousand.
Before leaving, Jiang Cheng opened the back of the two vehicles, finding them empty.
He shook his head; this group didn't come out to hunt beasts.
Suddenly, he remembered something and looked at the car being chased in the distance.
After killing their pursuers, they had come after him, and there might be a few more guns in that car, and with luck, maybe even a beast or two.
