Chapter 262: The Appearance of the Water Card (Second Update)
Chapter 262: The Appearance of the Water Card (Second Update)
The next morning at ten o'clock, at the entrance of Penguin Park.
"Jerry, over here!"
Snow Hare, wearing large silver-rimmed glasses and an orange jacket, saw Jerry appear on the street and immediately waved and called out.
Jerry walked over with a smile.
"Snow Hare, you're here so early?"
"I didn't want to keep you waiting, so I arrived fifteen minutes early!"
Snow Hare's tone always gave off a gentle and kind feeling.
"Haha, I prefer to arrive right on time!"
Jerry patted Snow Hare's shoulder and walked into Penguin Park with him.
It wasn't that Jerry really liked to arrive just in time; after all, doing so could easily lead to problems, and being late would be impolite. But since he learned Phantom Shift, arriving just in time had become the norm.
When you can instantly reach your destination, waiting there in advance seemed like a waste of precious time.
So, one minute before coming to Penguin Park, Jerry was still in the Box Space, continually experimenting with various uses of Shadow Magic and studying its deeper principles.
"There's a nice café in the aquarium, and Toya's job is to feed the fish to the performing penguins."
Snow Hare led Jerry through the park, squeezed through the crowd, and bought tickets to enter the aquarium.
Today was Saturday, and the park had several times more visitors than usual.
"Is Toya already at work?"
Walking through the aquarium's corridor, Jerry looked at the various marine creatures swimming behind the glass, feeling a bit like he was back in the Slytherin dormitory.
Of course, the aquarium didn't have any mermaids, Grindylows, or octopus-like Fantastic Beasts.
"He should be at the penguin performance area, feeding the fish."
Snow Hare thought for a moment and replied.
"Let's go say hello to him!"
Jerry suddenly turned his head as if he had seen something, then changed direction and headed straight for the penguin performance area.
Snow Hare didn't object when he heard this and immediately followed.
Not far ahead, in the penguin performance area, a group of elementary school students wearing white caps and sailor uniforms were gathered around the glass, watching a female trainer perform an entertaining penguin show.
These elementary school students were from Tomoeda Elementary, and the one who was the most excited, jumping and dancing, was Sakura.
"Could today be the day the Water Card appears!"
"Sakura?"
Snow Hare, who had just caught up, clearly saw Sakura and immediately waved with a smile.
Sakura, who had been bouncing around cutely, froze at the familiar voice. She quickly composed herself, smoothed a strand of hair behind her ear, and turned around.
"Big Brother Snow Hare, Big Brother Jerry, are you here to visit the aquarium too?"
"Yep, to thank Jerry for taking care of me these past few days, Toya and I wanted to invite Jerry to come here and have a look around, and maybe grab something to eat."
Snow Hare bent down to reply.
"Big Brother Toya is here too?"
Sakura's face showed surprise.
"He's working here. See, that's him."
Snow Hare pointed to a staff member in the glass, carrying a bucket to feed the penguins.
Sakura looked closely and indeed saw her brother, Toya.
"Sakura, is this a school activity?"
Jerry, noticing Tomoyo and a few of her classmates who had followed Sakura, asked for confirmation.
Sakura nodded.
"Today is an off-campus study day, and the school has divided us into groups to visit various public facilities. Our group is visiting the aquarium."
"It looks like I'm right!"
Recalling the time and location, Jerry was now fairly certain that the Water Card must be inside the Aquarium. The only thing left was to figure out the exact spot.
Turning to look at the penguin performance area, he didn't sense any magical fluctuations for the moment.
"My name is Jerry Carmen, Sakura's brother's classmate. Nice to meet you all. Here, these are some pancakes I made. You can have them as a snack when you get hungry!"
Reaching behind him, he pulled out a bag from thin air, opened it, and took out several boxes of pancakes, handing them to Sakura and her classmates.
"Thank you, Jerry-kun."
"Thank you, Jerry-kun. I'm Tomoyo."
"I'm Nagisa Yanase."
"I'm Chiharu Mihara."
"I'm Rika Sasaki."
Sakura, Tomoyo, and the three classmates behind them happily accepted the beautifully packaged pancakes, bowing to thank Jerry.
"Hey, Jerry, did you just pull out a bag?"
Yukito, noticing Jerry suddenly holding a bag, blinked in confusion.
"Yes, it's a white bag. You might not have noticed. These are for you and Toya!"
Jerry handed the last two boxes of pancakes to Yukito.
Seeing the pancakes in his hands, Yukito felt his stomach growl again and didn't question the bag any further.
"Ah, help me!"
Just then, a scream came from the penguin performance area.
Everyone turned to look.
The young and attractive female trainer was directing the penguins in the pool when something suddenly wrapped around her feet, pulling her underwater. She had to grab the edge of the pool and shout for help.
"Sure enough, it's here!"
Feeling the magical power fluctuation from the trainer's feet, Jerry knew the Water Card had appeared.
"Drying Charm!"
Pointing towards the pool, Jerry cast the Drying Charm, and the water in the pool instantly vanished.
The Drying Charm is a spell that can dry up water. If the caster has enough magical power, it can even drain an entire lake. It's a spell from the fourth-year textbook at Hogwarts.
The water in the pool disappeared in an instant, leaving everyone stunned. The trainer stood on the bottom of the pool, stopping her cries for help. Toya, who was about to rush over to help, also stopped in his tracks.
The Water Card's spirit, who had been planning a prank, was also taken aback.
However, it quickly transformed into a little girl, glaring at Jerry, then looking at Sakura, Yukito, and Toya behind them, before diving into the inlet and disappearing.
An unknown magic user, the new owner of the Sealing Key, Judge Moon, and the descendant of the original owner with powerful magical power—this place was clearly not suitable for a prolonged stay.
"Could it be a Clow Card?"
Sakura, seeing the little girl, immediately guessed that it might be a Clow Card.
Clow Card spirits can only be seen by those with magical power unless they choose to reveal themselves. So, when the Water Card appeared, only Jerry, Sakura, and Toya saw it, while the others did not.
Yukito, currently in his human form, couldn't see it either.
"Good that it ran. I'll come back tonight to capture it."
Watching the Water Card escape through the inlet, Jerry raised his hand but then let it drop.
Fighting the Water Card here and now could harm innocent people. It was better to wait until night.
Besides, now that Sakura had discovered the Clow Card, she would likely come back tonight. They could see if they could work together.
