Chapter 261: Crushing
Gazing up at the colossal Red Dragon suspended high in the sky, Koman’s heart surged with an uncontainable fury as he locked eyes with its golden vertical pupils—cold, disdainful, utterly mocking.
“You dare ignore me!”
“I am Koman, son of Kasa Youshuang, the last heir of the Youshuang Tribe, a vengeful specter from the Bottomless Abyss—and the one who will bury you beneath the earth!”
The Fallen Giant roared, his eyes bulging, veins writhing across his grotesquely twisted frame. Cracks spiderwebbed across his massive body, from which an eerie, amber glow seeped—like the light of the abyss itself.
“Abyssal Wrath!”
With a thunderous bellow that split the heavens, Koman hurled his black Spear. A torrent of Abyssal Current surged upward in reverse, spiraling like a maelstrom toward the floating Red Dragon. Within the churning darkness swirled chaotic energy, the wails of countless tormented souls, and shadowy limbs writhing in the void.
Kai Xiusu let out a cold, mocking laugh.
“So, the remnants of a Frost Giant still linger.”
“Seems I wasn’t thorough enough back then. Should’ve cut the root clean.”
As he spoke, Kai Xiusu extended his lateral wings with impossible speed, pivoting midair in a blur. Yet the black Spear followed—cutting through the sky in a graceful arc, bending around the dragon’s flight path with uncanny precision.
“Oh? It has targeting?”
A flicker of surprise crossed Kai Xiusu’s face. He tightened his wings slightly, instantly accelerating and creating a hundred-meter gap between himself and the pursuing weapon.
On the ground, Koman strained with every ounce of will, his face twisted in agony, channeling Abyssal Energy into the Spear with relentless force.
The Fallen Giant watched the dark streak tear through the sky, the Spear chasing the Red Dragon like a vengeful shadow. A mad, guttural laugh erupted from his throat.
“Kai Xiusu! You cowardly, scuttling Crawler!”
“The Revenge Spear will chase you until it pierces your heart!”
A deep, demonic voice echoed in Koman’s mind—fueled by hatred, stoking his rage even further.
“Yes… come, drink from the breast of the Mother of the Abyss. Pin your enemy to the earth!”
Kai Xiusu said nothing. Instead, he began to slow, letting the Spear close the distance—deliberately tempting it.
Just as the Spear, brimming with Abyssal power, was about to strike—Kai Xiusu unleashed a torrent of blazing fire from his maw, channeling it through sheer will.
【Through Fire and Flame】
In an instant, his entire body erupted into a roaring inferno, transforming into a towering wall of flame that blazed across the sky.
The black Spear pierced through the firestorm—but missed its mark. The sheer momentum carried it forward, slowing only gradually as it continued its doomed flight.
When its speed finally faltered, nearly reversing course, the flames coalesced into solid form. The Red Dragon reappeared—burning, radiant, reborn from the fire.
Kai Xiusu used a Force Field spell to probe the Abyssal Currents, mapping every twist and turn of the chaotic flow. The very fabric of magic around him warped and frayed, as if caught in the depths of primordial chaos—unpredictable, untamable.
“Interesting… but this experiment ends here.”
A cruel smile curled his lips. With a single flick of his claw, a thin, invisible Anti-Magic Ray lanced forth.
The moment it struck the Spear, the ancient runes etched along its length dimmed. The swirling Abyssal energy vanished like smoke in the wind.
Crack!
A sharp, brittle sound rang out. Cracks exploded across the spear’s surface, spreading like lightning. Then—shattered into a thousand jagged fragments, scattering like ash.
“No—!”
Koman’s scream tore from the earth below, raw and soul-rending.
That spear had taken three years of relentless devotion—his hatred, his grief, his soul poured into it. It was forged to track and destroy a single heart. And now, with a single Eighth-Level Disintegration Spell, Kai Xiusu had reduced it to nothing.
“If this is all you have… it’s terribly dull.”
Kai Xiusu extended both claws, slicing through space as if tearing paper. A rift of fire-lit darkness split open in the sky—its edges blazing with flame.
“Shriiiink!”
The sound was sharp, like cloth tearing through steel. The claw tip pierced the air behind the Fallen Giant.
The Red Dragon tore open the fragile veil of reality. From the rift emerged a monstrous four-horned dragon head, then a thick, serpentine neck, and finally a broad, powerful torso and massive, leathery wings.
With a surge of strength, Kai Xiusu rose onto his hind legs, spreading his wings wide. The shadow they cast engulfed the giant, blotting out the sky.
Koman turned sharply, lifting his head in disbelief.
Even at thirty meters long, the Red Dragon dwarfed him. Though Koman stood ten meters tall—far beyond the limits of any Frost Giant—before this beast, he looked like a child.
Kai Xiusu grinned, revealing rows of jagged fangs.
“Got you.”
In an instant, the Red Dragon descended with crushing force—like a crimson mountain crashing down. His scaled arms, thick as ancient tree trunks, pressed the Fallen Giant into the earth. The claws dug deep, pinning him beneath a weight that crushed bone and muscle alike.
Boom!
The ground cracked like a shattered web. The giant’s body collapsed inward, half his form crushed flat. Black-red blood sprayed into the air, and fragments of internal organs spilled from his mouth.
This was the true strength of the Red Dragon after Awakening—beyond the reach of mortal limits.
“You’re nothing like your father.”
“He at least gave me a challenge. But you? Just a deformed abomination, forcibly birthed from the abyss.”
“If you’d been backed by the Frost Giant’s wrathful monarch, Koschetchi, I might’ve spared you a moment’s thought.”
Kai Xiusu pressed down harder, savoring the sensation of flesh tearing, bones crumbling beneath his claws. Then, slowly, he opened his maw. Deep within his throat, molten heat surged—a furnace of pure fire.
“So, farewell… Revenge Seeker.”
“No!”
“Revenge… I need more strength!”
The Fallen Giant screamed, summoning his final breath. He raised a trembling arm toward the sky.
“Jezarslak… I beg you!”
Blood and chunks of meat poured from his mouth, yet his plea did not cease.
“This is my last prayer. I will claim my reward.”
At last, the void answered—cold, indifferent.
As Kai Xiusu unleashed a blinding white flame, the Fallen Giant turned translucent. A vortex of space formed around him at terrifying speed. With a burst of lightning, he vanished—leaving behind only a fleeting, monstrous silhouette burned into every nearby wall.
Then, the Abyssal Energy gathered once more—and the giant reappeared, whole, far away.
Kai Xiusu’s breath missed. He struck only earth—scorching it to a depth of several feet, leaving a smoking, charred crater.
“Oh?”
A flicker of interest sparked in the Red Dragon’s golden eyes. He slowly closed his jaws, the white smoke curling from his nostrils.
“Now… that’s more like it.”
