Chapter 26: Song Ting
Chapter 26: Song Ting
In his bedroom, Song Chi skillfully locked the door and entered the Market of All Realms, more specifically, the All-Attribute Training Room within the marketplace.
He had long been eager to try out the 580% increase in the cultivation speed of his Shadow Energy Guidance Technique. He decided to spend the next month in this training room. With a 5.8 times boost, a month here would be equivalent to six months of cultivation in the outside world. He hoped to use this opportunity to break through to Level 5 in the Shadow Energy Guidance Technique, which had been stuck at Level 4 for two years. It wasn't far from Level 5, and who knew, he might just succeed.
...
The next day, in the afternoon.
Driving his father's "Pentium III" kinetic flyer, Song Chi headed straight for the Jiangyuan Dragon Soaring High School. As one of the best junior high schools in Jiangyuan, Dragon Soaring High School was well-known.
It was the school's holiday, and the roads near the school gates were particularly congested. Fortunately, Song Chi was driving a kinetic flyer, so he didn't have to join the traffic jam on the ground, adding to the chaos.
He parked in an empty spot not far from the school gates and settled down to wait. He always parked in the same spot, and Song Ting knew this well, so there was no need for him to wait at the school gates.
While waiting, Song Chi focused his mind and actively visualized the projection of the Mythic Mech that had been imprinted deep within his psyche. Although the projection could autonomously enhance the mental strength of the imprintee, actively visualizing it would naturally yield better results.
Yesterday, he had asked his father more questions about the projection of the Dragon Spine Tyrant Whale in its Mythic Mech form. The reason for waiting until the age of thirty to attempt visualization was that only after successfully awakening the Spark of Flame and receiving its mental enhancement could one withstand the immense power of the projection acting directly on the mind.
Otherwise, at best, one's mental state would be damaged, and at worst, one's mind would collapse, turning them into a mindless madman.
After generations of the Song family's testing, it was determined that the highest success rate for imprinting occurred after the Spark of Flame had been awakened.
Because of this, Song Chi, who felt he had started late, became even more diligent with the visualization. With the Market of All Realms at his disposal, he was confident in his future achievements, but he couldn't afford to be lax when it came to the so-called Mythic Mech form.
"Song Chi, why are you here? Where's Dad?"
After an unknown amount of time, a familiar voice finally sounded in his ears.
Before he could respond, the voice spoke again.
"Right, the annual awakening ceremony was just a few days ago. Song Chi, you didn't fail the awakening, did you? That's why Dad sent you here, right?"
Song Chi opened his eyes and glared fiercely at the girl standing not far from the right side of the flyer.
"I'm your brother, don't jinx me."
The girl was Song Ting, his younger sister by twelve years, who had just turned eighteen.
Song Chi's expression remained unchanged as he scanned the area.
Then, two soft voices came from behind Song Ting.
"Hello, Big Brother Song."
"Big Brother Song!"
Two beautiful figures stepped out from behind Song Ting and stood beside her. Looking at the three vibrant young women, Song Chi was momentarily stunned. Just a few years ago, they were just little girls, but now they had grown into elegant young women, which made him feel a bit nostalgic.
Lu Xue and Wang Mengqing, Song Ting's classmates and best friends, had been close since childhood. Song Chi knew them well.
"Xiao Xue, Meng Jing, you two are here too."
"Alright, everyone get in the car."
Hearing this, the three girls smiled and climbed into the car without any hesitation. Over the past eighteen years, Song Chi had picked them up many times, always taking a detour to drop them off at home, so they were quite used to it.
The engine of the Type 3 Sprinter flying car hummed to life, and the vehicle slowly lifted into the air. Song Ting, sitting in the passenger seat, couldn't contain her curiosity any longer.
"Bro, did you successfully awaken?"
Hearing her serious tone, Song Chi knew that despite her usually carefree demeanor, his sister was deeply concerned about her family. She might act nonchalant, but she was more worried about his awakening than anyone else.
Seeing him nod, the girl's eyes lit up with a smile, but it only lasted a moment. The next second, her bright eyes started to twinkle, as if she was rapidly formulating a plan.
Having experienced this before, Song Chi decided to take the initiative.
"Nothing else, the lowest level."
Song Ting, of course, wasn't about to let it go. It was a rare holiday, and she wasn't going to just go home without a fight. After a brief moment of silence, she turned to Song Chi with a pleading look.
"Bro, I'm hungry. Let's go eat hot pot. I remember the place on Minyuan Road; it's amazing."
Song Chi rolled his eyes and pulled out a small briefcase from the side.
"Hungry, huh? Drink one of these, and you won't be hungry for half a day."
Song Ting opened the briefcase with curiosity, her eyes filled with anticipation. But when she saw the ten familiar blue tubes of medication, she was speechless.
"Song Chi, you can't be serious."
Before Song Chi could respond, Lu Xue, sitting in the back, her eyes brightened and whispered,
"Ting Ting, those are Intermediate Body Strengthening Potions."
Hearing the word "Intermediate," Song Ting finally realized what she was looking at. She glanced down again, and her eyes sparkled with joy.
In the past, she had mostly used Basic Body Strengthening Potions. With Song Chi's imminent awakening, their parents had allocated most of their resources to him, so she rarely got to use Intermediate Body Strengthening Potions.
"Bro, you just awakened. You don't need to buy these for me. From now on, Mom and Dad will focus on me..."
Holding the briefcase worth a million credits, Song Ting's voice softened. Song Chi had just awakened and was in dire need of resources, so while she was grateful, she was also concerned about his situation.
Song Chi waved it off nonchalantly.
"This time, the exploration mission was quite successful, so you don't need to worry about me. As for you, you have two years until the Ascension Exam for the Flame Seed Academy, and your Guiding Technique is still at Level 1..."
He turned his gaze to Lu Xue and Wang Mengjing in the back seat.
"And you two, you're always so in sync in the wrong areas. Level 1 Guiding Technique is too low. It will not only affect your future studies but also reduce your chances of successfully awakening the Flame Seed. Put aside other distractions and focus more on improving your Guiding Technique."
With that, he pulled out two wooden boxes from his side and handed one to each of them.
