Chapter 26: Don't Stand in Front of Me Again
Chapter 26: Don't Stand in Front of Me Again
Under the starry sky, two ships sailed one after the other towards the rear of the Kingdom of Natia.
With Sag's secret pain hole, there was nothing that couldn't be asked.
The first pirate who was hit quickly revealed the location of the hidden cave.
Just in case, Sag also randomly selected three, took them to the cabin and interrogated them one by one. If there was any discrepancy in their statements, he would randomly execute three of them and then select another three to question.
This group of pirates obviously didn't have the guts to lie; their statements were identical, confirming that the hidden cave was indeed on the rear of this island.
The surrounding cliffs of this island were incredibly tall and vast, and no opening was visible no matter how long one looked. The 'hidden cave' that the pirates had mentioned was nowhere to be seen.
Sag was currently on the fast ship, with Lily by his side, while the tamed pirates crouched in the corner, ready to be swiftly dealt with should Sag sense anything amiss.
There was no way they could deceive him, especially since they were so close; if he couldn't find the hidden cave, the deception would be quickly exposed. These pirates weren't that foolish.
The so-called 'hidden cave' must be within these cliffs.
"Sag, I think I see a cave."
As they drew closer to the cliffs, Lily noticed something and whispered to Sag.
"Ah, I see it too."
Sag raised his head and looked towards the tall cliffs. Above them, there was a round cave that resembled an eye.
As the sailboat approached, the round cave suddenly emitted light, illuminating the ship. At that moment, the seawater stirred up waves, and the cliff in front of the sailboat emitted a rumbling sound as it began to rise.
A door appeared in the middle of the cliff!
Beyond the door was a deep waterway, large enough for a ship to pass through. On both sides, there were even platforms for people to walk on!
"This..."
Shock was evident in Lily's eyes. Had the interior of the island been hollowed out?
How was such an engineering feat even possible?
"Ship, captain... This is our hidden cave. We didn't deceive you."
With the opening of the rock door, the surrounding pirates also breathed a sigh of relief. These pirates who could still move had all been affected by the secret pain hole and didn't dare to contemplate rebellion.
"Shut up."
Lily swept her gaze over them and coldly said, "No talking."
The pirates covered their mouths and stood there obediently, even their breathing becoming softer.
Apart from the location of the hidden cave, the amount of intelligence that could be extracted from this group of pirates was limited.
They knew that their top boss was the king, but they hadn't seen much of him. As for the tall, black-robed figure, they didn't know his specific appearance either. They only knew that he hid within a large black cloak but was very powerful, capable of easily lifting up a house.
However, this was enough for Sag.
He didn't need overly detailed intelligence; as long as he confirmed that the king and the black-robed figure were here, it was sufficient.
Sag waited for the fast ship and the black-sailed warship to enter together. He then turned his head to look at the rock door above, where there was a structure similar to a ship's rudder. Outside, a round hole had been drilled, allowing someone to observe from within and decide whether to open the rock door or not.
"Now."
Sag flicked his finger at the pirate who was about to turn the rudder, and a flying finger gun struck the back of his head, causing him to fall forward and collapse on the operating platform.
"It's Plundering Time!" Sag bared his teeth, his face twisted in a sinister grin.
"We'll follow your command!"
The pirates could no longer contain their fear, and they cried out, "You said you would spare us! We've told you everything!"
"Lily, get down."
Sag extended his leg and, as Lily crouched, he swept his leg in an arc.
"Storm Leg: Circle Sever."
Whoosh!
A circle of blue energy emanated from his leg, swiftly slicing across the pirates' necks and chests. Blood splattered, and they all fell to the ground.
He glanced at the people on the ground and coldly huffed, "All of you are idiots with your heads hanging from your belts. How can you still be so naive? Moreover, when did I ever say I would let you go?"
He had come here to pick a fight; how could he possibly let these people live?
"It's all the same whether we fight now or later. No one can make me take the fall and get away with it. No one!"
As the ships approached the mooring point of the channel, the pirates waiting at the spot happened to witness the scene of Sag killing. Their eyes widened, mouths agape, and arms grasping their weapons.
A flash of light zinged from the fast ship, swiftly slashing across their vital points and leaving bloodstains on Lily's sword as she stood at the shore.
Sag bared his teeth and leaped off the ship, proclaiming, "Let's stir up some trouble, boys!"
"Kill 'em all!"
Ajin led the charge, jumping off the black-sailed warship onto the platform with the pirates, weapons brandished.
Beyond the mooring point lay a waterside cave, housing numerous ships and pirates dwelling within. Startled by the sounds, the pirates residing there rushed to engage in combat.
However, a group of ordinary pirates was no match for Ajin. With an exceptionally bizarre twist of his body, he dodged their attacks, and his spinning iron ball-mace struck down with full force.
Boom!!
The ground caved in from the force of his strike, blowing away the surrounding pirates, who were then mercilessly finished off by the incoming pirates.
"Open fire! Open fire!"
Nearby pirates snapped back to their senses and raised their firearms, aiming at the group and pulling the triggers. But their bullets were blocked by a large round shield.
Par wore a massive iron shield, unfazed by the sparks dancing off the shield as bullets struck it. He tucked a few more flintstones between his fingers, ready to ignite them with a flick. "I—"
"Get out of my way."
Sag yanked Par aside and unleashed a kick, sending forth a pale blue slash that sliced through the pirates' bodies.
He glanced at Par and clicked his tongue. "Next time, don't stand in front of me. People might mistake you for the captain."
"Yes, Captain!" Par snapped to attention, standing upright.
"Finish them off."
Sag issued the command and strode forward.
On the left, flames engulfed the twin shields on Par's arms as he led a charge with the pirates, rushing toward their opponents. He tucked a few more flintstones in the crevices of their targets, igniting them and causing chaos as they frantically tried to extinguish the flames, only to be taken advantage of by the pirates in the heat of battle.
On the right, Ajin dominated without breaking a sweat, his spinning iron ball-mace mercilessly smashing out with the iron ball. One pirate was sent flying by the force, and the resulting blast blew away the surrounding pirates, who were then swiftly taken down by the advancing pirates.
There was a world of difference between pirates with combat capabilities and those without.
Sag strolled nonchalantly through the middle of the chaos, with Lily by his side. Those who found themselves isolated were swiftly dispatched with a flick of her slender sword, spraying blood as they collapsed.
Only when they reached the deepest part of the cave did Sag finally halt his steps. There, a large flat ground extended before them, surrounded by stairs ascending upward, seemingly leading to the upper reaches of the island.
And near the waterside, a figure clad in a black cloak stood with their back turned, hammer in hand, tapping away.
Scattered across this flat ground were various materials.
There were canvas remnants from sail-making, leftover iron nails and bolts, and pitch-black wooden remnants that seemed to have been carved from iron.
"It's done. Send someone to inspect."
The black-robed figure delivered the last tap, their voice as cold and mechanical as ever. As they straightened up, their cloaked figure seemed to stretch infinitely taller.
The figure beneath the black cloak turned around to face Sag, and as they did so, an enormous object behind them gradually came into view.
It was a ship constructed on land, seemingly freshly completed.
The ship's size was staggering, its mast reaching up to the overhead cliff. The black-sailed warship Sag had seized seemed like a child's plaything compared to this behemoth.
It was a black ship.
