Chapter 259: Seal 【47】
Chapter 259: Seal 【47】
Feng Ye plucked out a strand of black hair and released the seal.
Bright scarlet-gold chakra of the Nine-Tails overflowed from the hair, rapidly expanding until it transformed back into the massive body of the Nine-Tails, slamming into the ground outside the village with a thunderous crash.
"..."
The Nine-Tails' eyes spun with a dizzying light.
The entire fox lay sprawled on the ground, its nine tails splayed out behind it, even sticking its tongue out a little.
Whoosh!
Feng Ye vanished with a soft patter.
After Feng Ye disappeared, the Nine-Tails shook its head vigorously, clearing the dizziness from its eyes. Then, realizing what had happened, it roared,
"Fifth Hokage!!!"
The immense sound shook everyone in Konoha.
Back in his office, Feng Ye looked at the furious Nine-Tails and said, "Calm down, I was just testing a sealing technique. There's no need to get so angry. I'll play cards with you tomorrow."
"What do you take me for! I'm not that easily appeased!!!"
The Nine-Tails' voice echoed in Feng Ye's mind, and he could feel the spray of spittle on his face. Helpless, he spread his hands and said, "Then how do you want me to make it up to you?"
"Send me five times the amount of rice cakes and drinks tomorrow, no, ten times!!!
"Fine, I'll send you twenty times that amount."
Feng Ye's crisp reply left the Nine-Tails pondering if it had asked for too little. But since it had already spoken, it was too embarrassed to ask for more.
Finally, it harrumphed and said, "That's more like it."
After dismissing the Nine-Tails, Feng Ye called for a Shadow Guard and instructed, "Go tell Hiashi Hyuga that the sealing technique is ready. Ask him to come over."
"Yes."
The Shadow Guard acknowledged the order.
Although he didn't understand what the sealing technique was about, it wasn't his place to ask questions. His duty was to convey Feng Ye's instructions without question or interference.
A moment later.
Hiashi Hyuga arrived with Hinata by his side.
"Hokage-sama."
Hiashi bowed to Feng Ye.
Hinata, standing beside Hiashi, tugged at his clothes and also bowed timidly to Feng Ye.
"Follow me," Feng Ye nodded at Hiashi and Hinata, leading them not to his office but to the second room at the end of the corridor. It was a darkroom.
As the room was pitch-dark without any lamps, little Hinata felt afraid, hiding behind Hiashi and peeking out from behind him.
"Hinata, don't be scared. Go to the Hokage," Hiashi gently patted Hinata's head.
Feng Ye snapped his fingers, and a flame flickered to life in the darkroom. He squatted down, offering his hands to Hinata with a gentle smile.
Meeting Feng Ye's cerulean eyes, Hinata felt a sense of calm wash over her. With Hiashi's encouragement, she cautiously walked over to Feng Ye.
Feng Ye picked Hinata up and carried her to the center of the room.
"You can leave now, Hiashi," Feng Ye said.
"Alright, thank you, Hokage-sama," Hiashi nodded and bowed before leaving the room.
Having met Feng Ye at her birth and again more recently, coupled with Feng Ye's ascension to the Six Paths level, his very presence now embodied nature and balance. Thus, Hinata felt only a slight unease as she was held in Feng Ye's arms, watching Hiashi leave the room.
Feng Ye released her, allowing Hinata to float in the air as he placed his hands together.
Buzz!
Inky black characters of a jutsu formula weaved and contracted in the dark room, centering on Hinata. The massive chakra of Ketsuryugan Otsutsuki, which was attached to her, was gradually sealed and restrained.
Feng Ye brought his hands together and whispered:
"Seal of the Night!"
He felt a strange sense of embarrassment for some reason after shouting out the name of this sealing technique.
Fortunately, Hinata couldn't hear him, and there was no one else in the room, so Feng Ye managed to maintain his composure. However, he decided that he wouldn't shout the name of this sealing technique again in the future.
Swish!
The pitch-black chains rapidly contracted, binding the chakra of Ketsuryugan Otsutsuki into a black character that embedded itself into Hinata's hair, disappearing from view.
Feng Ye reached out and took Hinata back into his arms.
He gently stroked her hair, touching the strand where the seal was affixed.
The seal he had created was incredibly stable. Although it appeared to be attached to her hair, its essence was not actually part of the hair but a phantom seal formed by the jutsu formula.
It would grow or shorten along with her hair, but that was merely the natural contraction and extension of the jutsu formula itself and had nothing to do with the seal.
Only a Six Paths-level existence would have the qualifications to forcibly break this seal.
Below the Six Paths realm, even someone like Senju Hashirama wouldn't be able to break this seal without knowing the specific unsealing formula.
After checking the seal, Feng Ye extended a tendril of chakra to examine Hinata's physical condition.
Once he confirmed that there were no issues, he once again activated the power of his Rinnegan eyes, causing Hinata to awaken from her slumber.
In her grogginess, Hinata opened her eyes to darkness and felt a momentary pang of fear. But the sight of Feng Ye's cerulean eyes, so close to her, immediately soothed her anxiety.
She rubbed her eyes and gradually realized what had transpired. Looking at Feng Ye timidly, she asked, "Hokage-sama... Did I just fall asleep?"
"Mhm."
Feng Ye smiled softly, ruffling her hair affectionately before carrying her out of the darkroom.
Hyuga Hiashi stood outside the room, his eyes reflecting a hint of tension. Although he trusted that Feng Ye wouldn't harm Hinata, the involvement of their ancestor's power and sealing techniques still made him feel a bit uneasy.
It was only when he saw Feng Ye emerge with Hinata, unharmed, that he breathed a sigh of relief. He shot Feng Ye a questioning glance.
Feng Ye set Hinata down and nodded to Hiashi, indicating that everything was fine.
"Thank you, Hokage-sama," Hiashi said gratefully. After expressing his gratitude with another bow, he took Hinata and departed.
As he watched Hiashi and Hinata's retreating figures, Feng Ye suddenly remembered something. "By the way, there's no need to be too strict with her training."
Hiashi acknowledged with a sound of agreement and then disappeared down the corridor with Hinata.
