Chapter 258: Tool Fox [37]
Chapter 258: Tool Fox [37]
Hidden Cloud Village.
The sound of shattering glass pierced the air as a cup was viciously thrown to the ground, splintering into countless pieces.
"Damn it!"
The Fourth Raikage, with one foot propped on his desk, clenched his fist and glared at the ninja before him, his face contorted in rage.
The Yuninja, tasked with reporting on the delegation, stood trembling, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
"Konoha seems to be getting out of hand, big brother. What should we do?"
Killer B appeared beside him, gesturing as he spoke in his habitual sing-song manner.
The Fourth Raikage, his fist still clenched, grit his teeth and said, "That damn Fire Shadow is indeed getting too full of himself..."
"My apologies, Raikage-sama."
The Tsuchikage heaved a sigh and said, "We are in no position to continue the war with Konoha. Although the Fourth Fire Shadow and Danzo are dead, the Sannin are still alive, and the Third Fire Shadow likely still possesses considerable combat strength. Kakashi, with his Sharingan, and the young generation like Minato, have also grown stronger. Add to that the Fifth Fire Shadow, who is comparable to the First Fire Shadow, Hashirama Senju. If we engage in battle again, we have no chance of victory."
Bang!
The Fourth Raikage slammed his palm onto the desk, leaving a spiderweb of cracks on its surface as he glared at the Tsuchikage and said, "Are we just going to let them walk all over us?!"
"As much as I hate to admit it, for now, we have no choice but to bide our time. All the villages suffered heavy losses in the war, and it hasn't been easy to establish this peace treaty. I doubt any of them would be willing to jump back into the fray. We simply don't stand a chance against Konoha on our own."
The Tsuchikage's voice lowered as he continued, "So, for now, we must endure, continue to develop, and restore our strength. We can make other plans once the other villages have also recovered."
There was something else he left unsaid.
Konoha was at its strongest right now, and with Feng Ye, it was akin to having another Hashirama Senju in their midst. As long as Feng Ye lived, war was not an option.
Just as the other villages had to lie low during Hashirama's time, they could only do the same now.
It was only after Hashirama's death that the First Great Shinobi World War had begun.
"Damn it..."
The Fourth Raikage clenched his jaw and, in a fit of anger, smashed through the window, storming out of the Raikage's office toward his training ground.
Despite his anger and reluctance, he knew that engaging Konoha alone would only lead to a brutal end.
...
Konoha.
Behind the Hokage Rock, in the mountains.
In an open space, Feng Ye hovered in the air, his back to the six glowing orbs of the Rikudo Senjutsu that floated behind him. His left hand rested on top of his right, both palms pressed against the void in front of him.
A pitch-black sealing jutsu extended from his palms, weaving in intricate patterns and forming countless black chains that bound the empty space in front of him before contracting.
Hiss!
The black chains wove together rapidly, eventually entrapping a wooden doppelganger of Feng Ye, an exact replica that floated before him.
The chains contracted, transforming into black jutsu formulas that covered the wooden doppelganger's body, causing it to shudder.
"..."
Feng Ye furrowed his brows before snapping his fingers, causing the wooden doppelganger to crumble and dissipate.
"It's still no good. Chakra continues to leak through the seal."
Huzura's chakra was on the level of the Six Paths, and sealing such power required more than ordinary sealing jutsu—in fact, none of the existing seals were sufficient, including the Uzumaki Clan's strongest, the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style.
While he hadn't been able to completely seal his Six Paths-empowered wooden doppelganger with his recent attempts, the amount of chakra that managed to leak had been decreasing.
"There seems to be an issue with the ending formula. I'll need to modify it and make some adjustments to the preceding steps as well..."
Feng Ye rested his hand on his chin, deep in thought.
After a moment, he formed a single-handed seal and once again created a Wood Release doppelganger. He then brought his hands together, causing a multitude of black textual formulas to appear and intertwine, forming chains that wove through the air.
These chains eventually transformed into a black sphere that enveloped the wooden doppelganger. Finally, they turned into countless black characters, branding themselves onto the doppelganger's body.
"Success!"
Feng Ye smiled as he sensed that the wooden doppelganger was unable to leak even a bit of chakra, causing it to naturally crumble and dissipate.
He had finally created a sealing technique that could isolate the Hamura chakra within Hinata's body and sever their connection.
"A sealing technique that surpasses the Eight Trigrams Seal and can seal Six Paths-level chakra... I shall name it the Night Seal."
"Hmm, if it were Minato, he'd probably call it the Dark Spiral Shadow Light Round Dance Seal, Ninth Style."
Feng Ye named the first sealing technique he had created, taking the opportunity to poke fun at Namikaze Minato's naming sense. He then raised his hand once more.
This was still not enough, though.
While the technique was complete, the seal would leave behind black textual formulas that resembled chains on the target, and Feng Ye would not use such a seal on Hinata. Thus, he needed to make further improvements.
Since the main structure was already in place, the subsequent modifications were much simpler. With a few adjustments, Feng Ye made it so that after the seal was complete, the textual formulas would shrink and gather in one direction, eventually condensing onto a single strand of hair, leaving almost no trace of their existence.
"This should be good enough."
Feng Ye nodded in satisfaction as he watched his wooden doppelganger disappear.
Just to be safe,
He still didn't act immediately. Instead, he flashed over to the village entrance and landed on the Nine-Tails' head. With a pat, he activated the seal on the Nine-Tails.
The nearby Konoha ninjas were bewildered to see the Nine-Tails, who had been lazily watching TV, suddenly bound by countless pitch-black chains, turning into a ball.
"What are yo...?"
The Nine-Tails struggled vigorously, but its voice turned into a whimper, as if it had been gagged.
After being bound by the black chains, its massive body quickly shrank, flew towards Feng Ye, landed on his head, and transformed into a strand of black hair that curved backward.
Feng Ye stroked the black strand of hair on his head.
"Hmm, it seems there are no issues."
