Chapter 256: The World of Cardcaptor Sakura (Second Update)
Chapter 256: The World of Cardcaptor Sakura (Second Update)
"Another new identity?!"
Jerry quickly scanned the memories in his mind, and a hint of surprise showed on his face.
The last time he went to The Sorcerer's Apprentice world, he didn't receive any identity. He had assumed it was because his strength had increased, and the Panel thought it wasn't necessary to give him an identity.
But now, it seemed his assumption was incorrect.
In this world, his identity was that of a transfer student from New York, and he was currently in Japan.
This suggested that the new world was likely a Magic world set in Japan.
Which Magic world set in Japan could it be? In his past life, he had seen many anime of this type, but he wasn't sure if this world was one of them.
However, the name Star Flag High School sounded somewhat familiar.
"Let's go to the school first; there might be some clues there!"
Based on his previous experiences, Jerry believed that the location where he appeared and the identity the Panel gave him were definitely related to the world's plot.
Given the uncertain situation, it would be safer to explore according to the identity provided by the Panel.
He got out of bed and, following the information in his memory, found the Star Flag High School uniform in the closet.
"A white shirt, a tie, and a blue blazer—this Star Flag High School uniform is quite mature!"
Jerry quickly changed into the uniform and then went to the mirror.
He had started his first Magic Mini World journey during the summer after his eleventh birthday, spending two years at Hogwarts, one year and four months in the Main World, and three months in The Sorcerer's Apprentice world.
In total, his body was now fifteen years old.
With short brown hair, a well-defined face, sky-blue eyes, and a height of about 175 cm with a very well-proportioned build, Jerry's appearance was quite striking.
He picked up his backpack, went downstairs, and opened the front door. A small yard came into view.
He lived in a typical two-story Japanese house, not very large but with a small yard at the entrance. According to his memories, he had bought the house after moving from New York.
"Who would have thought my first visit to Japan would be like this? At least I was prepared!"
Considering the possibility of appearing in different countries, Jerry had spent his free time learning various languages, including Japanese.
While his Japanese wasn't perfect, it was good enough for basic communication.
Fortunately, being a foreigner, it was normal for him to speak imperfectly.
"Bicycle?"
Seeing a large-framed bicycle parked in the yard, Jerry was initially taken aback but quickly understood.
According to his memories, it was 1996, and bicycles of this style were quite common.
Without using a flying spell or a flying broom, he pushed the bicycle out, opened the iron gate of the yard, and started riding towards Star Flag High School.
Since he hadn't yet figured out the situation in this world, it was better to play it safe and act like a regular person for now.
It was always better to be cautious. Although it seemed peaceful and modern, modern times weren't always safe.
In a world like that of the Bald Cloak Hero, even with his current strength, he wouldn't stand out much.
On the quaint street lined with cherry blossom trees, the weather in April or May brought petals dancing in the breeze. Riding his bicycle, Jerry felt his mood inexplicably lift.
Perhaps this world wasn't as dangerous as he had imagined.
"Good, everyone is here. Today, I'd like to introduce a transfer student, Jerry. Please come in!"
Hearing Chiyoko-sensei's call from inside, Jerry pushed open the classroom door and walked in.
"Hello everyone, my name is Jerry Carmen. Please take care of me!"
Jerry smiled and gave a brief introduction to the class.
"Wow, a foreigner, and he's so handsome!"
"How strange, a transfer student at this time of year!"
"He looks so gentle!"
Listening to the buzz of the students' discussions, Chiyoko-sensei coughed to get their attention.
"Jerry is from New York. Everyone, please be kind to him!"
She then pointed to an empty seat behind one of the students and smiled at Jerry.
"Jerry, there's an empty seat behind Toya. You can sit there!"
"Alright, thank you, Chiyoko-sensei!"
Jerry smiled and nodded, making his way to the seat Chiyoko-sensei had indicated.
"Hmm, there's magic power!"
Sure enough, following the implanted memories, he quickly found the Mage in this world.
As he passed the desk of the student named Toya, he instantly detected the hidden magic power within him, and it seemed to be quite strong.
This meant that the student in front of him, Toya, was likely a Mage in this world.
"Alright, everyone, open your textbooks to page thirty-five. Today, we'll be learning about derivatives..."
Seeing that Jerry had settled in, the beautiful thirty-something homeroom teacher, Chiyoko, began the math lesson.
"Snap!"
Jerry lightly snapped his fingers, releasing a Scouting Magic.
Scouting Magic was a branch of the Magic used to test a Mage's level, adapted by Jerry to release a weak mental force to detect any magic power in the vicinity.
"Another one!"
In addition to the student named Toya in front of him, there was another student in the far-right corner who also possessed magic power.
Two Mages in one classroom? It seemed that the number of Mages in this world was not insignificant.
"Kinomoto Toya, Tsukishima Yukito, please come up and solve this problem!"
As Jerry was pondering how to approach these two Mages after class to gather information, the names Chiyoko-sensei called out suddenly made him pause.
"Kinomoto Toya? Tsukishima Yukito? Could this be Cardcaptor Sakura?"
The name "Toya" on its own didn't mean much to him, as it was a fairly common name in Japan. But with the surname "Kinomoto" and the addition of "Tsukishima Yukito", it was hard not to recognize them.
Even though they were boys, even though he had watched it in elementary school, and even though he hadn't seen the entire series because it was on TV, Cardcaptor Sakura held a special place in his heart, much like Sailor Moon.
