Chapter 254: Maisha Edwards
Chapter 254: Maisha Edwards
October 25, 2024
Fleming and Hailin were taken aback. They hadn't expected the magical beast the person in front of them was looking for to be Amy.
After a moment's reflection, they recalled that they had indeed heard that Amy wasn't Master Su Nan's magical beast and that she had come from the golden age of wizards two thousand years ago.
So, it made sense that the owner of Amy was likely the person standing before them!
Regaining his composure, Fleming said with a strange look, "The Star Alliance does have a white cat beast named Amy, and it has lived for at least two thousand years. If I'm not mistaken, it should be the magical beast you're looking for. Don't worry, she's doing well."
The woman's face showed a hint of relief.
"As long as she's alright."
"Can you take me to her?"
Fleming hesitated, exchanging a glance with Hailin, and then said, "I'm sorry, but I don't have the authority to make that decision. I need to report to my superiors."
A look of surprise flashed across the woman's eyes.
Two official wizards weren't even part of the upper echelons. It seemed the Star Alliance was a formidable wizard organization.
"I understand. Thank you for your trouble."
Fleming took out the Book of Stars and began to report to his superiors.
As she watched the Book of Stars, the woman's face showed a hint of curiosity.
A long-range projection communication device, it must be part of the omnipresent detection network she had sensed since entering the Starlight Continent.
It seemed the Star Alliance had complete control over the entire Starlight Continent.
For a plane as desolate as the Elemental Wasteland to give rise to such a powerful wizard organization, it was truly fascinating to wonder what had transpired over the past two thousand years.
In the Starlight Mage Tower's laboratory.
With the final stroke, the Mage Hand carved the last rune. A thin light spread along the pattern, flowing through the floor, walls, and ceiling of the entire laboratory, transforming the room in a peculiar way.
"Done!"
Su Nan let out a long breath, a smile spreading across his face.
With this, the spatial planning was complete.
"The central crystal energy transmission system and the elemental pool have both been upgraded. All that's left is the Labyrinth Shield and the puppet army."
"Unit 1, scan the status of the mage tower."
[Command received. Scanning... Scan complete.]
[Mage Tower: Starlight]
[Level: Medium (Upgrade Progress: 93.16%)]
[Current Energy: 82.19%]
[Energy Capacity: 50%]
[Intelligent Auxiliary Life: Tower Spirit 1 (Enhanced), Tower Spirit 2 (Enhanced), Tower Spirit 3]
[Facilities: Elemental Pool (Super Large/Enhanced), Floating Ring, Central Crystal Energy Transmission System, Living Quarters, Storage Area, Laboratory, Training Area, Meditation Area, Cultivation Area]
[Servants: Clay Golems × 300, Water Sprites × 482, Flower Fairies × 502]
[Defensive Systems: Labyrinth Shield (Large/Enhanced)]
[Combat Systems: Spell Cannon Towers II × 300, Disintegration Cannons II, Puppet Army (Adamantine Golems × 5000, Tentacle Puppets × 63, Secret Puppets × 31)]
Over the past decade, Su Nan had continuously synthesized the elemental pool, finally upgrading it from large to super large.
The super large elemental pool not only significantly increased the energy capacity and recovery speed but also added an energy storage function.
In simple terms, it allowed for the storage of energy.
During peacetime, it could store extra energy, which could then be used to supplement the elemental pool's energy consumption during battles.
Su Nan had tested it and found that 150% full energy was enough for 300 Spell Cannon Towers II to fire sixteen rounds!
The abundance of energy far exceeded what it used to be.
With this, the energy consumption issue for long-range strikes was basically resolved.
Additionally, Su Nan had used the knowledge from the Dark Throne to enhance the computational and data analysis capabilities of Tower Spirits 1 and 2.
Next, he planned to enhance Tower Spirit 3 as well.
It was worth noting that after the mage tower reached the medium level, the 'Enhanced' suffix for the Floating Ring disappeared.
This indicated that the current functionality of the Floating Ring was exactly at the standard for a medium-level mage tower and did not exceed it.
Unless he continued to synthesize and upgrade, the 'Enhanced' suffix would reappear.
"Synthesizing three more small Labyrinth Shields should upgrade it to super large."
"Only six more wizard-level puppets are needed to reach the goal of one hundred."
Su Nan nodded in satisfaction.
To think, it was all thanks to the Dark Throne, which had 'delivered' a small mage tower to him, significantly easing his resource pressure.
If not for that, the upgrade and renovation of the Starlight Mage Tower wouldn't have gone so smoothly.
However, such lucky breaks are unlikely to happen again.
If the Dark Throne isn’t foolish, they should realize that conquering the Starlight Continent is far more challenging than they initially estimated. Unless the planar lock is lifted and a more powerful army is dispatched, any minor skirmishes will be futile and might even provide the enemy with valuable war spoils.
The Dark Throne likely won’t send another Wizard Tower over anytime soon.
With a wave of his hand, Su Nan dismissed the three-dimensional model and sat down cross-legged, preparing to fill his talent crystal model. Suddenly, he received a message from Liz.
Seeing this, he got up and teleported to the study.
Upon meeting, Liz said, “The Dark Throne has sent another invasion force to the Starlight Continent.”
“What kind of force?”
“Twelve Level One Wizards.”
Su Nan raised an eyebrow in surprise but quickly understood. “Their goal is to send information about the Starlight Continent back, isn’t it?”
“Exactly,” Liz nodded. “They are all skilled in stealth. The Star Eye didn’t detect their presence until they acted. By the time we found them, they had already transmitted the information.”
Su Nan narrowed his eyes but soon waved it off. “Forget it, it doesn’t matter at this point.”
The Star Eye’s detection capabilities are not infallible, especially against wizards skilled in concealing their energy particle fluctuations.
Besides, the planar barrier will be fully repaired in at most a year. By then, the Star Alliance will be fully exposed to numerous wizard factions. Leaking information a bit earlier won’t affect the bigger picture.
“There’s one more thing,” Liz suddenly had a strange look on her face. “Amy’s owner has come looking.”
Su Nan was taken aback for a moment before he reacted. “Amy’s owner?”
“Fleming and Hailin encountered a woman who seems to be from another plane. She claims to have come to the Starlight Continent to find a lost magical pet, and the pet’s characteristics and name match Amy’s perfectly.”
Liz recounted the events.
Hearing this, Su Nan was stunned.
Given that the woman could mention Amy’s name and golden bell, there was a high chance she was indeed Amy’s owner.
What Su Nan didn’t expect was that Amy’s owner would arrive before the Dark Throne launched a major invasion.
How did she manage to enter the Starlight Continent?
Su Nan furrowed his brow in confusion.
But then he thought, the woman must have left a beacon on Amy.
“Where is she now?”
“Near Flash City. Fleming and Hailin are monitoring her. Without your permission, they don’t dare bring her to Dragon Forest.”
Su Nan pondered for a moment.
According to Amy’s description, her owner is a descendant of a True Spirit. At this point, she has likely ascended to a True Spirit Wizard, or at the very least, a Level Three Crystallized Wizard.
With her power, destroying the Star Alliance wouldn’t be difficult.
While Su Nan can fight above his rank, he wasn’t arrogant enough to think he could defeat a Level Three Crystallized Wizard, especially a True Spirit descendant, who likely has as many trump cards as he does.
The woman’s patience in waiting for Fleming and Hailin to report, rather than forcing her way into Dragon Forest, was probably due to the Star Alliance’s care for Amy.
Still, Su Nan didn’t plan to let her enter Dragon Forest.
Better safe than sorry.
However, meeting her in person was necessary.
A glint of light flashed in Su Nan’s eyes as he connected to the Star Eye network and quickly located Amy.
In a blink, he vanished from his spot and reappeared beside Amy.
The little one was basking in the sun on the back of a Hidden Dragon. She was startled by the sudden appearance but then recognized Su Nan and called out happily.
“Meow, Su Nan, why are you here?”
Su Nan smiled. “To tell you some good news.”
“What good news, meow?”
“Your owner is here.”
Amy was stunned for a moment before she realized what Su Nan meant, her eyes widening in surprise.
“Owner is here? Really, meow? Owner really came to find Amy, meow?”
The little one was so excited she nearly slipped off the Hidden Dragon’s back.
“Pretty sure,” Su Nan reached out and caught Amy. “Whether it’s true or not, you can see for yourself if you come with me.”
“Let’s go now, meow!” Amy jumped onto Su Nan’s shoulder, eager to go.
After two thousand years, she was finally going to see her beloved owner. She was so excited she didn’t know what to say.
Seeing this, Su Nan didn’t waste any time. He took Amy and teleported from Dragon Forest to the teleportation array in Flash City, then flew toward their destination.
At full speed, it took less than two minutes for them to arrive.
Seeing Su Nan, Fleming and Hailin immediately bowed in greeting.
"Master Su Nan."
Before Su Nan could respond, he heard an Excited Shout from Beside Him.
"Master!"
Immediately, his shoulder felt light as Emy instantly warped through space, leaping into the woman’s arms and hugging her tightly.
"Meow, Master Emy missed you so much, you’ve finally come!"
The woman’s eyes softened, and she reached out to gently stroke Emy’s fur, saying softly, "I'm sorry, Emy, for leaving you alone on the Starlight Continent for so long. But I'm back now, and I won't leave you again."
Her calm voice seemed to carry a strange power, and Emy gradually calmed down, Sniffling her Nose before remembering Su Nan. He tugged the woman’s long robe, lifting his paw to point at Su Nan.
"Master, that’s Su Nan. He took care of me ever since I woke up. He’s a very good person, meow."
The woman looked up at Su Nan, nodding slightly and said, "Thank you for taking care of Emy."
"You’re welcome."
Su Nan subtly observed the woman.
The energy particles surrounding her were extremely faint, almost like those of a novice wizard.
Even a first-tier wizard might not be able to discern her true power.
However, Su Nan could faintly sense the deep, immeasurable soul aura around her.
He had a vague understanding.
"Master, listen to me."
Emy chattered away, telling the woman about Su Nan.
When she heard that Su Nan was a second-tier Crystal Wizard and the founder of the Star Alliance, her gaze finally changed, carrying a hint of surprise.
Then, the woman introduced herself.
"My name is Mysha Edhartz."
"Su Nan Yanest."
Su Nan replied, adding silently to himself,
She is a proud woman.
Though Mysha seemed gentle and kind, Su Nan could still clearly detect a subtle air of condescension: this gentleness and humility were tinged with a sense of superiority.
This wasn’t because Mysha was insincere or pretending. It was because she was a True Spirit Wizard.
A True Spirit Wizard might be polite to ordinary wizards, but it was hard to imagine her showing respect to them.
This subtle condescension meant a certain level of cultivation and demeanor, but not respect.
Su Nan understood this well and had no complaints.
After all, when facing the novice wizards of the Star Alliance, he and Mysha weren’t much different.
Perhaps it was his status as a second-tier wizard and his founding of the Star Alliance that made Mysha look at him differently, leading her to introduce herself for the first time.
"Emy is my most important magical pet."
Mysha stroked Emy’s head, making it look content.
"At that time, I was in crisis. To keep Emy from being involved, I had it hide and enter hibernation, planning to retrieve it after the crisis was resolved. But when I was free, the Starlight Continent’s plane was already sealed, and I had to wait until today to return."
"Emy’s personality is innocent and simple. Surviving alone on the Starlight Continent must have been very hard. Thanks to your care, it managed to live safely."
Mysha looked at Su Nan, her expression sincere as she repeated her gratitude.
"I am very grateful for your help with Emy. As a return, if you have any requests, I will try my best to fulfill them."
Hardly had she finished speaking when Emy couldn’t wait to speak up.
"Great, Master, you should help Su Nan deal with the Dark Throne’s gang of bad guys!"
"Dark Throne?" A hint of surprise flashed across Mysha’s face as she glanced at Su Nan, quickly understanding, "The Dark Throne has invaded the Starlight Continent early?"
"Yes," Su Nan didn’t hide it, "They started the invasion over a decade ago, and we’ve clashed several times since then."
"Su Nan even destroyed two wizard towers of the Dark Throne!" Emy said with pride.
Mysha’s gaze toward Su Nan carried a new trace of astonishment.
"You have your own wizard tower?"
"Just a small one," Su Nan said calmly.
"That’s impressive."
Mysha was well aware of how difficult it was to construct a wizard tower, especially on the Starlight Continent in the Elemental Wasteland.
The young wizard before her was more outstanding than she had imagined.
Mysha’s insight and experience were far beyond those of ordinary wizards. She thought for a moment and her eyes flickered.
"Perhaps I can help you." She spoke softly, "I forgot to mention, I come from the Codex of Wisdom."
