Chapter 253: Lanchi Never Sets Limits for Himself
Chapter 253: Lanchi Never Sets Limits for Himself
"Before the preparations with Protoss are in order, I will personally teach you for a while to help you become as strong as possible."
The Ice Snow Witch temporarily put away her documents, setting them aside to give to Hiberlian later so she could look through them.
Hearing the Ice Snow Witch's words, Hiberlian snapped back to attention.
"Are you going to teach me magic?" Hiberlian asked eagerly. The thought of learning magic from another witch, especially one as powerful as the Ice Snow Witch, was thrilling. There would surely be things she could learn from her that no one else, not even the demons, could teach her.
"No, our affinity for magic is too different, and you wouldn't be able to learn my magic easily. But you can observe the magic I use, and I will do my best to rush and create magic cards for you with those spells." The Ice Snow Witch replied directly.
She was confident she could help Hiberlian replicate the pink Sacred-level spells, and while the orange Epic-level spells couldn't be replicated, she would strive to create pink Sacred-level alternatives for Hiberlian.
"There's such a convenient way to improve?" Hiberlian asked, astonished.
"I will do my best to help you, given the daunting task I've assigned you." The Ice Snow Witch assured.
In human terms, she was still a young woman, but compared to humans, she had lived an extremely long life. She had long since tapped into her potential in magic engineering, so creating cards for Hiberlian wouldn't be an issue.
There was only one reason why the Protoss Empire hadn't gone to war yet: they didn't deem their chances of victory to be a hundred percent.
In the balance of war, any eighth-rank powerhouse carried enough weight, and those with special functions were even more critical.
As long as Hiberlian could help rescue the powerful demon, she would severely disrupt the Empire's plans and buy significant time for the Aethailand Kingdom and the northern allies.
"Thank you, Miss Almythe." Hiberlian expressed her gratitude. She had heard this saint's name from the three gods as well.
"I heard from the clerics that a young man named Lanchi is always by your side. Did he also come to the Northern Continent this time?" The Ice Snow Witch inquired thoughtfully.
She didn't understand why those three clerics kept bringing up Lanchi's name after returning from the Shadow World, but she later found out that he was Loren's student and very friendly to the clerics.
Since those three clerics had come into contact with Lanchi and Hiberlian, it seemed like something fundamental within them had changed, though the Ice Snow Witch couldn't quite pinpoint what it was.
However, she suspected it had something to do with Hiberlian, given that she was Ifatia's daughter.
Here in the Northern Continent, they didn't have the recording devices or massive reading terminals of the Shadow World Management Association in the Southern Continent, so they couldn't see what had transpired there.
The development of magic engineering differed slightly between the two continents.
The peaceful Southern Continent focused on improving residents' quality of life, using magic engineering to combat natural disasters, and enhancing training and challenges in the Shadow World. Their magic engineering was purely human-based, and with the management association overseeing the entire continent, there was greater sharing, exchange of technology, and cooperation.
On the other hand, the Northern Continent, plagued by constant warfare, focused more on gaining resources in the present world to enhance strategic capabilities, with a secondary emphasis on the Shadow World. Their magic engineering leaned more towards the original demon-based style, and the various ancient racial traditions flourished.
After being isolated by the maritime disaster for decades, the two continents had gradually diverged.
"He came with me, but we got separated at the beginning. However, he's more likely to be in the Protoss Empire by now."
Hiberlian wondered if Lanchi had also come to the Aethailand Kingdom and guessed that she would seek out the Three Gods. If so, he should have met up with her. Therefore, Lanchi was most likely drifting in Protoss territory now.
"If you happen to meet Lanchi, seek his help as well. When the time comes, I will write a letter to Loren and ask him to bestow rewards upon you on behalf of the church."
The Ice Snow Witch nodded as she spoke.
"That might be a little dangerous..." Hiberlian's gaze shifted uneasily.
"Your mission is indeed dangerous, but I will do my best to ensure your safety." The Ice Snow Witch acknowledged with her eyes closed.
"No, I'm afraid he might over-fulfill the mission..." Hiberlian murmured, looking down.
"Don't worry, I'll take responsibility for whatever happens. Just let him do his best." The Ice Snow Witch leaned back in her sofa, casually waving her hand.
Having been taught by Loren, who was honest and loyal, the Ice Snow Witch could guess Lanchi's character.
She hoped that his talents would be put to good use and that he could be of assistance to Hiberlian.
...
Time passed by.
It had been two weeks since Lanchi arrived in the southwestern province of the Protoss Empire, in the city of Lilom.
In the afternoon, the ancient stone buildings of Lilom stood along the roads, their windows and balconies adorned with blooming flowers and lush greenery. The gentle breeze carried a fragrant floral scent, mingling with the sound of the sea, creating a continuous melody.
Crossing streets and bridges, one would reach the center of the town, where a majestic temple stood in a spacious garden square, becoming the landmark of this place.
Its spire reached for the sky, adorned with golden trim that sparkled in the sunlight.
The exterior walls of the temple were constructed from beige marble, polished smooth by the passage of time, retaining their pristine beauty. Delicate bas-reliefs adorned the walls, depicting ancient legends and heroic deeds. On either side of the front entrance stood two towering stone lions, their majestic and robust appearance serving as a warning to all who entered, reminding them to respect this solemn and sacred place.
This temple, once belonging to the Church of the Goddess of Fate, was now rarely visited by residents, and it had been taken over by the Church of Resurrection.
What was unusual today was the absence of silver-robed priests in the vicinity of the temple.
In the deepest part of the temple, within the central hall.
A vast space housed a massive crucifix at its center, and stained glass windows cast a kaleidoscope of colors across the entire hall, illuminated by the sunlight.
All the silver-robed priests in Lilom had gathered in this grand hall, their gazes intense and fervent, focused on the figure at the front, standing on a pulpit.
A sermon was underway in the temple.
Row after row of seats were filled with silver-robed priests, attentively taking notes as they received guidance.
"The world outside is rotten," the figure on the pulpit proclaimed, his voice carrying a sense of authority. "The so-called 'plunder' and 'cruelty' are lies they weave. Only we possess the true revelation, for we know the truth of love."
He slowly raised his palm, guiding the emotions of the crowd, "They will try to lead you astray, but you must have faith. Only here will you find your true home."
"Do not be blinded by the outside world," his voice resonated with calmness and depth, "For true strength, true wisdom, and true freedom lie within us."
The silver-robed figure on the pulpit seemed enveloped in a golden, holy mist, obscuring his features and adding an air of mystery. Only his eyes, a vivid green, shone with divinity and compassion, piercing through the haze of light.
