Chapter 252: The Disappearance of Harry
Chapter 252: The Disappearance of Harry
Ever since Fred had switched Ron's magic wand with the joke wand, they had been eagerly awaiting the results. But a week had passed, and Ron hadn't noticed anything... In other words, he hadn't used his wand at all during that time.
Fred and George were deeply disappointed.
"Looks like we have a very obedient little brother," Fred said with a hint of resignation one evening. "He really remembers the rule about not using magic outside of school and strictly adheres to it..."
St. Mungo's Village was a large village with a high concentration of wizards. As long as they remained undetected by Muggles, the Ministry of Magic wouldn't pay any attention to the magical reactions here, readily offers his help, "I'll go with you. I've been wanting to check out some new books anyway."
Even Cedric and Percy often practiced spells in their rooms, but Ron seemed especially well-behaved in this regard.
Because of this, Fred and George's plan to test the joke wand was unlikely to succeed anytime soon.
George sighed, "If only he could be this obedient at school."
"Maybe Gryffindor could even win the House Cup because of it," Fred added.
Fred spread his hands and then turned to Kyle, "Hey Kyle, we're planning to go to Diagon Alley tomorrow to buy some things. Do you want to come along?"
"Sure, when are we leaving tomorrow?" Kyle asked.
"In the morning," George replied. "We need to buy a lot of books, and Ginny needs to get her school supplies, so we have to leave early."
After agreeing on the departure time for the next day, Fred and George left.
Back in his room, Kyle wanted to continue reading, but for some reason, whether it was excitement or something else, he couldn't focus on the words at all.
With no other choice, Kyle turned off the light and went to bed early.
...
After what seemed like a long time, the sky finally brightened.
After getting up, Kyle hurriedly ate a few bites of bread and then headed to the Burrow.
The Weasley family was having breakfast. Despite Kyle's insistence that he had already eaten, Mrs. Weasley still stuffed him with several ham sandwiches.
Ginny made room for him at the table.
As Kyle sat down, Mr. Weasley, who was eating, looked up and asked, "Has your father gone to the Ministry yet?"
Kyle nodded. "Half an hour ago, he received a letter and rushed to the Ministry."
"It must be those guys..." Mr. Weasley muttered. "They're unhappy with the new Muggle Protection Act, so they're throwing their dark magic items in places where Muggles are present.
I guess they think they're being clever, solving their problems and causing us trouble at the same time."
"But they did succeed," Kyle shrugged.
Recently, the Daily Prophet had been reporting daily about Muggles affected by dark magic, and the number was increasing. The Ministry's Incident Response Team was overwhelmed.
Not only that, but even animals weren't spared. Whether it was livestock or pets, after coming into contact with the discarded dark magic items, they became extremely aggressive and highly combative.
Some had even spotted palm-sized purple ants...
This was why Chris had rushed to the Ministry early in the morning.
"They've only succeeded temporarily," Mr. Weasley took a bite of his sandwich and smiled. "Scrimgeour has already sent Aurors to investigate. No one dares to throw those dark magic items anymore.
A bunch of self-proclaimed smart guys, I'll catch them red-handed sooner or later..."
"Go, Dad!" Fred and George exclaimed excitedly.
"Shh!" Mrs. Weasley slapped the twins on the back, admonishing them, "Be careful, Arthur. Those people are not to be trifled with. Don't forget that you've already been suspended from the investigation."
"It's just temporary, Molly," Mr. Weasley said, "The suspension order is only for three days. Kingsley told me that there have been many new faces in Diagon Alley recently. They must be scared and are eager to get rid of their dark magic items quickly."
"But Mr. Weasley, why don't they just put their things in Gringotts?"
Kyle asked curiously, "The Ministry of Magic can't inspect the vaults, so it should be safe, right?"
"I don't know..." Mr. Weasley thought for a moment and said, "Maybe they don't want their cursed items to contaminate their Galleons..."
After breakfast, Mrs. Weasley took a flowerpot from the kitchen fireplace and turned to everyone, saying, "Well, let the guest go first. Harry, you're up!"
She brought the flowerpot to Harry.
"I... what should I do?" Harry was stunned and asked hesitantly.
"Mrs. Weasley, Harry probably hasn't used Floo Powder before," Kyle stepped forward, "I'll go first and show him how it's done."
"He's never used Floo Powder before..." Mrs. Weasley frowned, finding it hard to believe.

Harry glanced at Kyle gratefully and nodded repeatedly.
"Alright then..." Mrs. Weasley brought the flowerpot to Kyle.
Kyle pinched a pinch of glittering powder from it and threw it into the fireplace flames, then walked straight in and shouted, "Diagon Alley!"
In the blink of an eye, Kyle appeared in the Leaky Cauldron.
Perhaps due to the approaching start of the school year, the place was much livelier than usual, with every worn-out table occupied by wizards enjoying their drinks.
If you arrived late, you'd have to stand with your drink in hand.
Soon, Fred and George arrived, followed by Mr. Weasley.
As soon as he emerged from the fireplace, he anxiously looked around.
"Merlin's beard... Kyle, did you see Harry Potter?"
"No," Kyle shook his head, "Has he been here before?"
"He went into the fireplace before me," Mr. Weasley's voice trembled, "Oh no, we've lost Harry Potter..."
After that, Percy, Ron, Ginny, and Mrs. Weasley also arrived.
Upon learning that Harry hadn't appeared in the Leaky Cauldron, Mrs. Weasley's face instantly paled, and she almost collapsed to the ground.
Fortunately, Fred was quick to catch her from behind.
"Arthur..." She sobbed, clutching her chest, "Harry's missing... What are we going to tell his aunt and uncle?"
"Don't worry, Mrs. Weasley, Potter will be fine," Kyle reassured her, "He probably took the wrong fireplace. Maybe we can go to Diagon Alley and check. I remember there's a fireplace there too."
"Yes... you're right, it should be like that."
Mrs. Weasley clung to this idea like a lifeline, "Where's the fireplace in Diagon Alley... damn, I can't remember!"
"Relax... Molly, don't be nervous."
Mr. Weasley held her hand tightly and comforted her, "I remember Kingsley telling me that when they searched Diagon Alley... Oh, I remember, it's Borgin & Burkes!"
"That infamous dark magic shop?!" Mrs. Weasley's face turned even gloomier.
She quickly ran towards the backyard of the Leaky Cauldron, "Hurry... Arthur, we must get there quickly..."
Mr. Weasley, seeing this, also rushed to catch up.
