Chapter 251: The Resurrected Coulson (Third Update)
Chapter 251: The Resurrected Coulson (Third Update)
On a desolate cliff face, inside one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most secretive facilities.
Nick Fury stood on a high platform, looking down at the operating table where Coulson lay, being treated by various high-tech instruments. He sighed:
"Coulson, you are one of the few people I can completely trust. You can't just die like this!"
"Director, are you sure you want to administer GH325?"
A female doctor in a white coat asked, her face serious.
"Administer it!"
Fury nodded without hesitation.
The doctor carefully withdrew a glass vial containing a sky-blue mysterious liquid from a metal box covered in cold air and placed it in the instrument's slot.
She pressed the red button on the instrument, and it immediately began to treat the lifeless Coulson, who had several large wounds in his chest.
"Ah!"
As the blue liquid was injected, Coulson, who had been dead, suddenly let out a piercing scream.
The doctor, who seemed to have seen this before, approached the instrument and began to operate it, initiating various shock treatments to Coulson's brain.
"Kill me, it's too painful, please, let me go, please, let me go!"
Coulson's agonized cries continued to echo from the operating table, but the doctor showed no sign of stopping, continuing to operate the instrument methodically.
As time passed, the large wounds on Coulson's body began to shrink visibly and then completely disappeared, as if they had never been there.
"Report any changes with Coulson to me immediately. Once he is fully recovered, implant a beautiful memory to make him forget this pain."
Nick Fury, watching Coulson's suffering, showed a moment of hesitation on his face, but ultimately did not intervene. He gave the order and then turned to leave resolutely.
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have always been trained in a mentor-apprentice system, similar to a master and disciple relationship. Back when Nick Fury was not yet the director, he had mentored Coulson.
So, in a way, Fury and Coulson had a master-disciple relationship.
Moreover, when the Skrulls infiltrated Earth and transformed into S.H.I.E.L.D. high command, issuing orders to capture him, only Coulson had been willing to trust him.
Therefore, in the entire S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson was one of the few people Fury could completely trust.
This was why, both emotionally and strategically, he had to resurrect Coulson.
However, the special base originally planned to treat the Avengers still had significant technical risks. Whether the resurrected Coulson would still be the same person was uncertain.
After Fury left, Coulson continued to lie on the operating table, moaning in pain. Perhaps due to the extreme agony, some memories that Jerry had sealed deep in his brain with the Obliviation Spell began to resurface.
June 31, 2012.
It had been over a month since the end of the school term and exactly fifteen days since the alien invasion of Earth.
In the living room, Jerry was reading a high school biology textbook titled "Cell Biology" while sipping coffee.
Although he had studied high school biology in his previous life, it had been a long time, and the curriculum was different in different countries. He wanted to spend a year in high school before moving on to university, so he needed to spend more time studying.
Now that he had enough red stars, he didn't plan to expand the number of new Magics he was learning. Instead, he focused his main efforts on increasing the power of the Magics he had already mastered.
The extra time was spent studying high school material to skip grades and get into a good university. He then planned to research biology to find a way to purify his Sorcerer Bloodline, which would help him quickly advance his Mage level.
Across from Jerry, Aisha was holding a primary school math book. However, judging by her distracted state, she was likely to fall asleep on the table soon.
"Cough, cough. Jerry, Aisha, come over here. Belle and I have something to tell you!"
At that moment, Has and Teacher Belle, who had been in the room, suddenly came out and beckoned to Jerry and Aisha.
Aisha immediately looked relieved, quickly throwing away her math book and running over to the sofa.
Jerry, seeing this, shook his head in exasperation and put down his book to follow.
"What's up? You both seem a bit nervous!"
Noticing Has and Teacher Belle's hesitant demeanor, Jerry couldn't help but ask.
Has seemed to have made up his mind and quickly announced:
"Here's the thing, Belle and I have decided to get married, and we hope you and Aisha will agree!"
"Getting married, that's great news! I have no objections!"
The two had been living together for some time. Although they occasionally had minor disagreements, their overall relationship was very good, and it was time for them to get married.
"Will there be cake? I'll agree if there's cake!"
Aisha, lying on the sofa, raised her right hand.
"Yes, of course! We'll have a seven-tiered cake!"
Hearing that Jerry and Aisha were supportive of their decision to get married, Has and Belle visibly relaxed.
"Have you set a date?"
Jerry asked.
"The date is set for next Sunday, July 7th!"
For Americans, the number seven is considered the luckiest, much like the number eight for the Chinese. In religious contexts, seven is a mystical number. God created the world in seven days, created Adam in seven days, and used Adam's seventh rib to create Eve.
Therefore, July 7th is one of the most popular days for weddings in the United States.
"It looks like the things I've been preparing for the past two weeks can serve as wedding gifts!"
Jerry had always felt that living in such a densely populated building was neither safe nor convenient. For example, when he last used Apparition to return, he accidentally ran into Grandpa George.
Moreover, the building had surveillance cameras, and he could easily be caught on camera at any moment.
So, over the past two weeks, he had specifically bought a mini mansion nearby, not too far from their current neighborhood.
The key was that he had used Magic to modify the entire mini mansion. It looked ordinary on the surface, but it was actually full of hidden dangers, making it a very secure base.
He had been considering when the right time would be to give this villa to Has so that the family could move in. This way, even if he wasn't around, Has and the others would be better protected.
Now that Has and Teacher Belle were getting married, he decided to give them the villa as a wedding gift over the next couple of days.
However, how could he give it to Has without raising suspicion?
After all, he was only a twelve-year-old child on the surface. If he suddenly presented a villa to Has, it would surely shock him.
After some thought, he decided he would need to use some special means.
