Chapter 251: Retreat
Chapter 251: Retreat
"Habi!"
Luo and Ailvman found the position of the river crab, and the joy in their voices was evident to all.
"Hey! Luo, Ailvman! Are you two alright?"
Luo self-deprecatingly replied, "We were just being chased around the mountain by someone."
Ailvman flexed his muscles, "But we're fine now, man!"
Seeing the two of them in such disheveled state, Habi didn't believe they were completely fine.
"But at least we're out of danger now," Habi said excitedly, "We just defeated two enemies, two enemies!"
Luo laughed, "I saw it; that move with the fish was really cool."
Ailvman got even more excited, "Habi is a man!"
Habi mimicked Ailvman's pose, "Hey! Man!"
This kid was easily influenced.
Luo asked seriously, "Habi, where did you come from?"
"Of course, from the guild," Habi replied.
"How could you get here so fast?" Luo asked, puzzled, "And who did you come with?"
"We..."
Before Habi could finish, three pursuers emerged from the forest, shouting to their comrades:
"Over here!"
"Move faster, don't let them get away!"
Ailvman and Luo laughed, uncertain who would run and who would stay.
Just as the two were about to take action, the forest suddenly echoed with the sound of an engine.
Immediately, a peculiarly shaped vehicle leaped over a small hill and sped straight toward the pursuers.
"Vehicle?"
"How could there be a vehicle in such a place?"
"Quickly, get out of the way!"
Several people were in a panic, but the vehicle used the small hill to leap high, with a loud thump it hit the three pursuers.
"That... is the... Motored Four-Wheeler?"
Given the speed of the Motored Four-Wheeler, it was been't been abnormal for her to arrive from the guild so quickly.
But the key point was who was driving, Luo exclaimed in surprise, "Mila?"
Ailvman and he were equally surprised, "Sister?! Why is Sister driving?"
"Hey! That's how we came here."
The vehicle mercilessly rolled over the three fallen pursuers and then screeched to a stop.
The driver, Mila, removed her SE plug, jumped out of the driver's seat, and without a glance at the fallen pursuers, she ran straight to Luo and Ailvman.
Seeing Luo and Ailvman in such a disheveled state, Mila's heart tightened: "You... are you both alright?"
"Don't worry, Sister, we're fine," Luo tried to soothe her, "You..."
Mila didn't even listen to them, she inspected the two of them up and down, confirmed they were still lively, and then fell to the ground.
"Mila!"
"Sister!"
Luo immediately hugged her, Ailvman quickly followed suit.
At this moment, Ailusha got out of the car, "It's from excessive magic consumption, rest for a while, she drove too fast on the way."
Kana followed, complaining, "Really, it would have been better to take turns, but once she got in, she wouldn't come down."
The Motored Four-Wheeler was originally a high-magic-consuming device, and with Mila's current state, being able to drive from the guild at such speed to here was nothing short of a miracle.
"You all came!" Luo was somewhat moved, calling out, a hundred miles of rescue, and the addition of a demonic tail was just too good.
He summoned a demonic image, placing the Insightful Crown on Mila.
"Just to be safe, I summoned the Tree Monster and placed the Ember Crown on it."
"Kana kicked one of the unlucky ones who had been hit by the car, "Are these the enemies?"
"These minions are a bit numerous, but they're manageable. The problem is the other two."
Luo gave a brief account of Laxtros and Zankrow, "They call themselves the Seven Fiends of Purgatory, meaning they are as strong as the Demon's Heart... and there are at least five more."
"The good news is that they didn't all come this time, but we don't know how important Mal and Vina are to them, so there's a possibility of reinforcements."
"I see, I understand," Aisha nodded seriously, "Don't worry. In the worst case, we can escape in the Motored Four-Wheeler, or wait for the Guild Master to come personally."
As she spoke, Aisha suddenly changed into the Heavenly Wheel Armor, and a dozen swords flew backward, knocking down several approaching enemies.
She didn't even change her tone, "Also, the Council said they would take action. They seem eager to regain some face in the Fiore Kingdom."
Luo thought Aisha's moves were too cool, giving off a sense of effortless destruction.
"A few of us should be enough for now," Luo thought, "Wait, where's Natsu?"
Kana laughed and pointed at the Motored Four-Wheeler, "He's in the car, he should still be alive."
"Na-tsu~" Habi dragged the barely conscious Natsu out.
Natsu struggled, "Stop the car..."
"Love! It's already stopped!"
Luo was both moved and amused. If Natsu didn't get his motion sickness fixed, they'd be in trouble if they encountered an attack halfway.
Also, this could be considered a solo kill by Mira, right?
Rounding it off, it was like her strength was almost back to full.
With the arrival of their companions, a few more waves of attacks came, but Luo and Elfman didn't need to worry.
Aisha, Kana, and Natsu could easily handle them. All they needed to do was watch Mira and cheer her on with "666."
...
"Lord Zankrow, we found them, but they seem to have reinforcements!"
"What reinforcements? I'll burn them all to ashes! Take me there immediately!"
Zankrow didn't even take the time to properly heal himself, just wrapping some bandages around his body before continuing his search.
That bastard dared to lie to him, he would burn that guy to ashes, bones and all.
"Lord Zankrow! The camp received a message, the Guild Master has ordered us to retreat!"
Zankrow grabbed the man by the collar, "What are you saying?"
The man struggled to speak, "There... there is reliable intelligence that the Council is planning a large-scale operation.
The Guild Master says the timing isn't right, and we can't be exposed to the Council's eyes. We also can't rashly confront the top guild in Fiore...
So the Guild Master has ordered us to retreat immediately. Also, Lord Laxtros has returned to the camp, and he is severely injured."
"Damn it!" Zankrow reluctantly let go, "Retreat!"
Given that the information was about the Council's actions, it was certainly accurate.
He dared not disobey the Guild Master's orders and couldn't afford to provoke the one who provided the intelligence, so he reluctantly gave the order.
"By the way, what happened to Laxtros?"
"Well... we're not sure. Lord Laxtros arrived at the camp and immediately fell into a coma. He hasn't recovered yet. We know he lost an arm and was poisoned."
