Chapter 249: Olivia (II)
Faced with such overwhelming oppression, Olivia’s spell could no longer hold.
Her body flickered with scattered magical aura, then suddenly swelled—returning to her true form as a Silver Dragon.
Yet even this young Silver Dragon, stretching over ten meters long and towering like a colossal beast in the eyes of mortals, appeared as insignificant as a kitten before the Red Dragon—her head barely reaching the larger dragon’s chest.
Olivia forced out a weak, trembling growl.
"Awooo… Red Dragon… you face the Silver Star… O- Olivia."
Her declaration lacked any conviction.
The Silver Dragon tried to maintain composure, spreading her radiant silver wings wide, arching her spine slightly, and glaring at the Red Dragon with fierce, defiant eyes.
But even with all her effort, her wings trembled. Her claws dug deep into the ground, her scales standing on end in fear.
The terror that seeped into her bones was nearly impossible to hide.
At the sight of such a frightened, cornered creature, Kai Xiusu spoke slowly, calmly.
"Stay calm, Silver Dragon."
"Perhaps we can talk… about your trespassing on my territory."
Though her body still shook, Olivia summoned what little courage she had left.
"This… this land was never yours! You’re nothing but a cruel invader!"
Kai Xiusu slowly unfurled his wings. The vast shadow they cast engulfed the entire Silver Dragon. On his four-cornered, grimacing dragon heads, a faint smile curled.
"Very well, Silver Dragon. Then let me teach you first—what is the most basic of manners."
As the Red Dragon approached at a deliberate pace, Olivia felt despair claw at her heart.
This was no match for her.
But larger dragons were also clumsier. And the massive Red Dragon, nearly thirty meters long, was even more so.
Perhaps she could exploit that flaw. Find one last chance to survive.
"Awooo—"
Olivia let out a low, resonant cry. The scales across her chest flared with light—silver brilliance flaring like spines. These were spells etched into her very being, not some mindless Spell-Eating Dragon. These were ancient Runes, drawn by her grandfather—the last line of defense.
In an instant, a barrage of magical effects surged through her body, drastically amplifying her speed and defense.
But the magic wasn’t done.
[Crown of Stars]
Hundreds of radiant star-like points materialized, swirling around her head and wings. The light danced across her silver scales, reflecting back into the air, bathing her entire form in a celestial glow.
For a moment, she looked divine—like a being from the Heaven’s Mountain, worthy of the title Silver Star.
The stars then broke apart—shooting through the sky like meteor trails, streaking toward the Red Dragon.
Seizing the moment, Olivia snapped her wings shut, tucking her body into a tight arc, and shot sideways—fleeing through the narrow gap beside the Red Dragon’s massive frame.
She didn’t expect to wound him. She only wanted to draw his attention—just enough to escape.
But the Red Dragon merely raised one claw. From its tip, a thin, unassuming beam shot out.
[Magic Wastage]
In an instant, the dazzling starlight shattered. The celestial streaks vanished like smoke.
Olivia’s heart lurched. She suddenly remembered—this King of the Burnt wielded the power of the Nine-Ring Spell!
But worse was yet to come.
The colossal Red Dragon didn’t slow. In fact, he moved with startling agility—faster than she could react—like lightning, blocking her path as if he were a wall.
The Silver Dragon, still in mid-flight, couldn’t adjust her trajectory in time. She was on a collision course—straight into the Red Dragon’s embrace.
Kai Xiusu extended one massive claw, swift as a whip. He seized her neck—lifting the entire Silver Dragon as if she were a kitten.
"Let me go, you Red Dragon!" Olivia thrashed wildly, clawing at the air, but she couldn’t break free.
The sheer gap in strength and size was too vast. Before this thirty-meter titan, she was no more than a helpless kitten.
With a single, brutal motion, Kai Xiusu flung her aside.
Olivia shot through the air, tumbling dozens of meters before crashing into the ground, rolling several times. Her smooth, silver wing membranes were scraped and torn.
Gasping, she dragged herself up on her front limbs, trying to rise—only for the Red Dragon to close in like a storm.
"Silver Dragon, this is just a small punishment," Kai Xiusu said, his voice calm as he pinned her to the earth with one arm.
[Wagner’s Dragon Binding Array]
The runes beneath them flared to life. Hundreds of chains erupted from the ground, wrapping around the young Silver Dragon, locking her in place—completely immobilized.
"Let me go!" Olivia screamed, writhing in agony. "I am the descendant of Ancient Silver Dragon Oszedro!"
She strained with everything she had, but the chains only glowed brighter, searing her flesh. Blackened marks scorched across her once-pristine silver hide.
Kai Xiusu stared down at her, unmoved.
"You can stay here for hundreds, even thousands of years… or you can submit to me."
In the face of utter despair, Olivia’s heart burned with fury and sorrow. She roared, voice breaking.
"Red Dragon, you’re delusional!"
"Let a noble Silver Dragon submit to a brigand like you? To your evil, natural enemy? That’s the greatest joke in the world!"
"Where is Anher?"
"What have you done to him?"
At that, Kai Xiusu nearly laughed.
He hadn’t expected his false identity to haunt her this long. And now, even after all this time, she still hadn’t recognized the truth behind the so-called Golden Dragon.
Smirking, he let out a cold, mocking cackle—classic villainous laughter.
"Are all Metal Dragons like this?"
"Silver Dragon, if you keep resisting, your fate will be the same as that foolish Golden Dragon."
Olivia’s eyes instantly welled up, tears glinting like silver shards.
The words painted a vision in her mind—the image of that familiar face, crushed beneath the Red Dragon’s claws, the once-steadfast expression burned away by fire.
"Damned evil dragon!"
She howled, voice cracking with tears.
"I will never, ever submit to someone like you! Not even in death!"
Kai Xiusu leaned down, his face level with hers—studying her like prey. The cold gaze made her fur stand on end.
"Evil?"
"Me? Why would I be evil?"
He grinned, sharp fangs glinting.
Olivia glared at him, teeth clenched.
"Kai Xiusu! Your crimes are known throughout Anzeta. Your name is feared across the Northern Regions!"
She spat the words.
"You’ve raised an army of monsters, invaded and conquered at will, hoarded wealth, seized cities, enslaved people, and slaughtered the innocent!"
She gasped for breath—then continued.
"If that’s not evil, then there is no evil in this world!"
She raged, unleashing every curse, every insult she could summon—her voice raw with defiance.
But Kai Xiusu merely shook his head.
"Only you see it that way. You’re not human. You’re just a bystander. Such is the contradiction of your kind—claiming to be close to humans, yet filled with arrogance. You take human form… but can’t truly understand society. You pretend to care, but you only see them as pets."
He paused, eyes narrowing.
"Do you truly believe humans are just one thing?
A noble? Yes.
A citizen? Yes.
A merchant? Yes.
Even a peasant laborer—yes.
I’ve only eliminated a few rotten elements to save the many."
He leaned in, voice low, calm.
"To thousands of peasants, I am their savior. I freed them from lives of shame—lives where they were called Gray Livestock.
To those tormented by Vampires, I am the Judge of Justice. I wiped out the blood-drinking bats, eradicated the Lakanman Family, who bled their people dry for centuries. They should be grateful."
He paused, letting the silence settle.
"Look around you. For most, I’ve brought a better life. I built a new kingdom. I broke the old, corrupt order of the Northern Regions."
He stared at her, almost pityingly.
"And you… you only care about a few obstacles? Are they truly the justice of the many?"
His voice dropped to a whisper—each word deliberate, cutting.
"If my actions aren’t justice… then every noble in the Northern Regions deserves the gallows."
