Chapter 248: Full Body Reception · Beast King's Soul
Chapter 248: Full Body Reception · Beast King's Soul
Ordinary Demon Mages wouldn't be a match for Maer and Vena.
But Zankro was clearly not an ordinary Demon Mage.
The black flames of his blade sliced through, shields, longswords, and the spear's shaft snapped.
"Ah...!" The two of them were forced back, their clothes catching fire, and their skin scorched.
Elfman pushed the two of them to the ground, holding them down, as Zankro charged forward.
A beastly arm grabbed a fist wreathed in black flames, sizzling smoke rising from the palm.
Pain was evident on Elfman's face, but he did not let go, instead gripping the fist tighter:
"Man up!"
Elfman's arm suddenly exerted force, flinging Zankro away.
He wanted to buy some time for his siblings to escape, but unfortunately, he couldn't manage it.
Zankro flipped in mid-air, both feet kicking a large tree, his whole body enveloped in black flames as he shouted:
"Flame God's Kick!"
"Steel Bull's Arm!"
"Ugh!" The steel-like fist hit Zankro's head, also getting scorched.
Not only did Zankro block Elfman's fist, but he also headbutted him in the chest, sending him flying away.
Elfman dragged on the ground for several meters before finally stopping, this person... was too strong.
It was almost like fighting a fully powered Natsu.
Zankro stretched his neck, hands on his hips: "What, is that all the Fairy Tail can do?"
Elfman struggled to stand up, his left hand covering his burned right hand, his expression fierce: "No... you... insulting the Fairy Tail!"
Zankro asked with a mocking tone: "Oh? What can you do?"
Of course, it was to fight. If it were a normal day, he would fight for the guild's honor.
But today, he had a mission.
Elfman took out the magic book again, infusing it with magic, the pages shattering.
Lightning, hurricanes, frost, and water blades of various kinds of magic flew toward Zankro.
Elfman did not have time to see the results, sprinting to Maer and Vena's side. Without asking for their opinion, he hoisted them up and ran off.
The fire on their bodies had already been extinguished, and they had picked up their shield, longsword, and broken spear.
They still hadn't realized how strong their opponent was, thinking that just getting close would give them a chance to win and avenge for the village.
But...
"Flame God's... Roar!"
Black flames spewed from Zankro's mouth, completely engulfing the magic Elfman had launched.
Elfman turned his head while running, seeing nothing but black flames.
The three of them showed fear, all engulfed by flames.
Zankro wiped his lips: "Hehehe... a bit overkill, but you won't die, right?"
The black flames dissipated, leaving only a towering back in Zankro's eyes.
The two siblings huddled together, both embraced by Elfman.
His clothes were even more tattered, his back full of burns, but the two siblings he protected were unharmed.
Maer looked at him in shock: "You... why didn't you do your best...?"
"The Mage of the Fairy Tail... won't give up the mission, I promised Mr. Piet..."
Elfman couldn't hold on, falling to the side, he strained to say, "You... run fast..."
"Hehehe... this is the face of the weak, truly ugly!" Zankro laughed maniacally, "The weak just need to die well!"
Maer supported Elfman's body, gritting his teeth, pushing Elfman to his sister, picking up the broken spear and shield, standing up himself:
"Disallowed to insult the fighter... and the village, give it to me!"
"Brother..." Vena tried to dissuade, no matter how unwilling, that person was their unbeatable opponent.
If Zankro wanted to, he could probably destroy the entire forest with a single strike.
"Roar? You still won't run even after seeing my power?" Zankro laughed, "That Kaburico guy sure has his eye on some good servants."
No matter how stubborn or brave the opponent was, they would have to submit to Kaburico's magic. That guy wielded the 'King's Magic.'
But the thought of being his errand boy made Zankro feel very annoyed.
He punched Maer's shield.
Maer was sent flying, his shield destroyed by black flames, but he continued to charge with his broken spear.
Zankro kicked again, sending the spear spinning through the air before it plunged into the ground nearby.
"Can't you just lie down and stay still?"
Maer, eyes red with rage, lunged at Zankro, only to be beaten to a pulp.
He kept getting up, driven by his indomitable fighting spirit. Even if he had to bite, Maer wanted to take a piece out of this murderer.
"Tsk~ I'm getting a bit bored."
Zankro pulled the broken spear from the ground, thinking about telling Kaburico that he had failed. If he wanted servants, he could find them himself.
"Brother!!"
Squish...
The sound of the spear piercing flesh. The anger and hatred in Maer's eyes faded, replaced by terror. His body couldn't stop trembling: "Vena..."
Vena's back was right in front of him, and the spear's tip... was there too.
"Vena!!!"
Zankro seemed momentarily startled, but then burst into laughter:
"Ha~ Hahaha! What's this? Finally, I see something interesting. This is what it means to be weak, hahaha!"
"Vena!" Maer held Vena, his mind blank.
His sister had been impaled by the spear he had wielded...
"Brother... run..." Vena, hands covering her wound, struggled to speak, "Leave here, at least, at least you must survive..."
"No... no, you hang in there, hang in there..." Maer's eyes welled up with tears for the first time, rolling down onto Vena's face.
Vena tried to say something more, but the spear shaft was suddenly gripped and yanked out with force.
Vena coughed up blood, collapsing into Maer's arms.
"Vena, Vena!"
"Enough. I've seen enough of this play. It's time to go back." Zankro raised the spear again, thrusting it down with force.
Bang!
A massive fist struck Zankro's face, sending him flying and crashing into a tree, taking down a few lackeys with him.
A towering, two-horned monster stood in front of the siblings: "I also say, enough."
"Don't... casually destroy families!"
"Full Body Reception · Beast King's Soul!"
"Oh? Not bad, but... you've angered me!" Zankro's body was enveloped in pitch-black flames as he stepped closer to Elfman.
"I don't want to see this happen anymore... a man must become strong enough! I don't want to see tears shed for family anymore!!!"
Elfman roared and charged forward: "Beast King's Fist!"
"Beasts should tremble before the divine fire!" Zankro spread his arms and brought them together, a massive black fireball forming,
"Flame God... Kagu-tsuchi!"
