Chapter 247: Return and Unexpected Gifts
Chapter 247: Return and Unexpected Gifts
By the time Kyle returned to the village of St. Catchpole, evening had already descended. As he emerged from his Portkey travel and landed, he was greeted by a large crowd waiting for him.
Chris seemed to have received word of his return beforehand and was already waiting at the door.
"Dumbledore sent a letter saying you'd be back today," Chris said with a smile. "But I didn't expect it to be this late."
"The plan was for the afternoon, but some matters delayed me," Kyle explained.
"No worries, you'll make it just in time for dinner," Chris assured him, opening the door.
Kyle had barely stepped inside and taken a sip of water when Chris eagerly asked, "Tell me about Niccolme. I imagine he's a strict and disciplined scholar, right?"
"Well... something like that," Kyle replied, his expression turning peculiar.
It was hard to describe his strictness...
During this time, whenever Kyle encountered Niko, he was always wearing frog-eye glasses, dressed in floral shirts and shorts, and lounging in a chair listening to opera.
In a way, this could be considered a form of discipline.
"Dad, have you met Niko before?" Kyle asked.
"No, I haven't. But then again, I'm not like you, receiving the Merlin Knight Order Medal at the age of twelve," Chris joked, shaking his head.
He proceeded to ask about other matters.
To maintain Niko's image, Kyle gave vague responses before quickly excusing himself to unpack, rushing upstairs to escape the conversation.
His room was already filled with beautifully wrapped gifts, all sent on his birthday a few days ago.
At that time, Kyle was still at Niccolme's, and the owl couldn't find him, so the gifts were delivered here instead.
But now wasn't the time for gift-opening...
As Laton fluttered in through the open window, Fred and George's voices could be heard from outside.
"Kyle, are you back?" they called out.
"Come out, we've got someone with us!"
Kyle leaned out the window and immediately spotted the slender figure behind them.
"Potter?"
"You bet!" Fred laughed. "We rescued him from that cage."
"In Dad's flying car, no less."
"It was amazing, too bad you weren't there."
Behind the twins, Harry waved happily at Kyle.
Ron was right; their homes were indeed close to each other.
Compared to the Dursleys' place, Kyle's home seemed much more normal, at least from the outside.
At Kyle's invitation, Harry followed Fred and George into the house.
The large living room was even more spacious than the Dursleys', but before Harry could take it all in, Fred and George rushed upstairs.
With no other choice, Harry followed them.
Upon reaching the upstairs, the twins burst into Kyle's room, ready to confront him.
"Kyle, you said you'd only be gone for a few days..."
"But it's been a whole month now..."
"Do you know what we've been through this month?"
"Playing Quidditch on the vacant lot, pestering Percy, teasing Ron..." Kyle replied calmly. "Or maybe studying Quick Escape Candies in your room?"
"I bet the Weasleys don't know you've hidden things under their beds yet."
Fred and George exchanged a glance and immediately broke into smiles.
"No, Kyle, you're wrong..."
"In fact, we hid them under Ron's bed."
Harry, standing by, watched as Ron, who had followed them upstairs, looked at them with a bewildered expression before his face turned red.
"You never told me!"
No wonder Fred and George had been frequenting his room and even lending him a broomstick.
Ron thought they had improved their relationship, but it turned out that everything was fake!
"Don't be angry, little Ron, we're just borrowing your bed for a while," Fred said with a smile.
Ron frowned and said angrily, "No, what if Mom finds out? Take it away immediately!"
"Well, since you insist..." George sighed, "It's so sad that you won't even help us with such a small favor, our own brother."
Fred also shook his head, "We were planning to give you a gift when school starts, but it seems like we won't now."

"Don't worry, we'll take them away right now, and Mom won't find out," Fred assured.
Ron's face turned even redder.
He mumbled, as if wanting to take back his words, but Fred and George didn't give him the chance.
The two finished speaking and ran out of the room to pack their things.
As they spoke, Harry curiously observed the large pile of gifts in the room.
He also noticed that many of the gifts had "Happy Birthday" written on them.
Harry was taken aback and turned to whisper, "Ron, you should have told me earlier that today is Kyle's birthday. I didn't have time to prepare a gift."
"What... oh, no."
Ron finally came to his senses and shook his head, "Actually, Kyle's birthday is on July 31st, and it's been many days since then."
"July 31st, isn't that..."
"You're right, Harry, Kyle and I share the same birthday," Ron furrowed his brows, puzzled, "Didn't I mention it before?"
"Never..." Harry muttered.
Although he said this, Harry felt like he had heard this news before.
"Oh, I remember, it was Hagrid..."
After a moment of thought, he suddenly clapped his hands and realized, "When he took me to Diagon Alley for the first time last year, he mentioned that Kyle and I share the same birthday."
"What are you two talking about?" At this moment, Kyle also noticed the whispering pair.
"Nothing..." Harry quickly shook his head, "But Kyle, you weren't home before, so how did your gifts end up here? Did the house elf intercept them too?"
"House elf? Of course not," Kyle shook his head, "I was just in a special place where the owl couldn't find me."
"But speaking of gifts... this is for you, and I made them myself."
Kyle took out two small boxes from his pocket and threw them to them.
The two quickly caught them.
In Harry's box was a badge.
"That's a waterproof wetsuit badge," Kyle explained, "Wearing it won't affect you even if you play Quidditch in the rain."
This was originally intended for Fred and George, but giving it to Harry was fine too. It wasn't troublesome, and they could make another one later.
"Thank you, this is amazing!" Harry put on the badge immediately, secretly deciding to get Kyle a birthday gift the next time he went to Diagon Alley.
Ron's gift, on the other hand, was a self-inking feather quill customized by Kyle...
It could greatly improve the efficiency of doing homework, leaving more time for entertainment.
However, for some reason, Ron didn't seem as happy as expected.
