Chapter 246: The Finale (1)
Chapter 246: The Finale (1)
September 25, 2017
"Qi Qi Ge, stop this nonsense. He SuiMeng won the martial match, and he's now your husband. You were never a part of this competition, and there's no need for another one."
Just as Qi Qi Ge stepped forward, another figure emerged—none other than the Elder Chief.
He SuiMeng's actions caught the Elder Chief off guard, but none of it mattered. Whether it was underhanded or noble, as long as Qi Qi Ge could be suppressed, it was worth it.
At this moment, the Elder Chief's stance effectively sided with He SuiMeng. Simultaneously, many warriors from the Uyun Tribe, though reluctant, also stepped forward.
"What are you all doing?" Uyun Qi Qi Ge glared at the group of Huns who had stepped forward, her bright eyes filled with anger.
"What are we doing? The martial match has a result, so of course, you must fulfill your promise and become my woman," He SuiMeng played with the crossbow mechanism in his hand, his face brimming with smugness.
From the beginning, they knew Qi Qi Ge wouldn't accept her fate as the victor's woman. So, they had prepared to deal with her from the start, and it seemed He SuiMeng had reached an agreement with the Elder Chief from the very beginning.
At this point, one side was Qi Qi Ge alone, while the other consisted of the warriors from both tribes. The odds were heavily stacked against Uyun Qi Qi Ge.
Especially when Uyun Qi Qi Ge noticed that many of her own subordinates stood behind the Elder Chief, she realized she had been abandoned by her own people from the very start.
"Either become my woman and return to the He Sui Tribe with me, or you'll only be a dead woman."
The Elder Chief's eyebrows furrowed. "Put away your crossbow, He SuiMeng. You..."
Before he could finish, a curved blade pierced his back, wielded by none other than Uyun Tu, who had just left the martial match arena.
"Uyun Tu, what are you doing!" Qi Qi Ge's face turned ashen, never expecting Uyun Tu to do such a thing.
"What am I doing? I'm doing what you've always wanted to do but never had the chance. Didn't you want to kill him? Now, I'm helping you fulfill that wish."
Uyun Tu withdrew the curved blade and pushed the Elder Chief's body to the ground, his face twisting into a sinister smile.
"This old chief promised to marry you to me and give me the position of tribe leader, but then he organized this martial match. He clearly wanted to humiliate me. Everyone knows you're my woman, yet I had to compete for you. It's an insult to me!"
"Most importantly, he intended to groom someone else as his successor. What use is there in keeping such an old chief alive?"
"Alright, Uyun Tu, no need to complain. Now that the old chief is dead, we'll stick to our agreement. The position of tribe leader of the Uyun Tribe is yours, but you must have this woman. Don't forget you still need my help to deal with the opposition in your tribe." He SuiMeng declared, his face filled with greed as he gazed at Qi Qi Ge.
"Rest assured, it's just a woman. As long as you help me eliminate the opposition in my tribe, I'll give her to you."
As they announced their claims, disregarding Qi Qi Ge's presence, her eyes turned icy cold. "You don't think I came unprepared to today's martial match, do you?"
As Qi Qi Ge spoke, a group of over a thousand emerged from the crowd, most of them female soldiers. Their presence helped to regain some of Qi Qi Ge's momentum, but the appearance of Qi Qi Ge's allies didn't surprise Uyun Tu and He SuiMeng in the slightest.
"Who doesn't know who you are? Do you really think this small group can make any significant waves?" Uyun Tu spoke with disdain.
As he finished, a large crowd quickly gathered behind them, far outnumbering Qi Qi Ge's side. At this moment, Fu Li, the leader of the Fu Clan, joined He SuiMeng's side.
Qi Qi Ge looked at Fu Li with a puzzled expression, "You? Why are you mixing with them?"
"Oh, your highness, do I need to explain to you why I'm joining forces with them? Qi Qi Ge, can't you see the situation before your eyes? Before this battle even began, Uyun Tu had already pulled away most of your high-ranking supporters from the Uyun Tribe under the pretext of the Elder Chief's orders. Now, the only ones you can rely on are the female soldiers behind you. The situation is set, and your unrealistic idea has become a complete joke," Fu Li said, narrowing his eyes at Qi Qi Ge.
He SuiMeng waved his hand and leered at Qi Qi Ge, "You see, you have no chance to turn this around, and I will be the ultimate victor of this battle. As the strongest warrior on the grassland, I have the right to claim you!"
Qi Qi Ge's face darkened, and then, as if remembering something, she broke into a stunningly beautiful smile, "I'm afraid I can't go with you. After all, you're not the winner of this battle!"
"If not me, then who?" He SuiMeng scoffed. Just then, Lu HaiKong's voice rang out.
"Of course, it's me!"
The entire Hun crowd was shocked. They were still processing the unexpected turn of events involving the Uyun, He Sui, and Fu Clans, and now, hearing Lu HaiKong's voice, everyone was stunned. Wasn't this demon supposed to be poisoned by the arrow?
In truth, Lu HaiKong had known about Uyun Tu and He SuiMeng's plan from the start. However, the crossbow arrow, originally intended for Tie Fu Ge, had been used against Lu HaiKong instead. With prior knowledge, Lu HaiKong was well-prepared and on guard.
Moreover, given Ma Pian's impulsive nature, if Lu HaiKong had genuinely been hit by the arrow, He SuiMeng's head would have likely been on the chopping block.
Lu HaiKong casually tore off his outer garment, revealing a tight-fitting leather armor underneath. He then effortlessly removed the exquisite crossbow arrow from his armor, "I just don't understand why I've been standing here all this time, yet you insist on blatantly ignoring my presence?"
Seeing Lu HaiKong toying with the crossbow, He SuiMeng broke into a cold sweat. He quickly aimed his crossbow at Lu HaiKong.
But just as he raised his hand, Lu HaiKong threw the arrow in his hand, striking He SuiMeng's crossbow with pinpoint accuracy. The powerful force knocked the crossbow from his grasp, and He SuiMeng, being alert, quickly dodged to the side. Had he not moved, the arrow would have grazed him, and he might have been killed.
After evading the arrow, Lu HaiKong strode forward, causing He SuiMeng to subconsciously retreat a few steps. He then suddenly remembered that his side had already gained an absolute advantage, "Just you, a mere Han person, even without being hit by the poisoned arrow, what can you do?"
