Chapter 245: No, There's a Conflict
Chapter 245: No, There's a Conflict
When a familiar that could be considered a national treasure is willing to bond with you, and you just happen to have an available Bond Slot, how could you possibly wait?
Qiao Sang couldn't wait a moment longer.
Heaven knows how much effort she had put into bonding with Aquariana, even going so far as to sell Fangy's beauty to the cause.
After finally breaking through her Brain Domain, she naturally didn't want to waste any more time.
If it weren't for the people nearby, she would have opened her backpack and completed the bond the moment she realized her Star Array had turned green.
Qiao Sang gazed at Aquariana with burning eyes, her heart pounding.
Even though she knew Aquariana had already agreed, the moment of actually being able to bond still sent her adrenaline soaring.
“Lulu!”
Aquariana nodded solemnly at the human in front of her.
“Great! Great!” Qiao Sang, overcome with excitement, immediately stood up and made the hand signs.
Green light gathered from all directions, converging on Aquariana's head, forming a small green Star Array in no time.
Aquariana allowed the light of the Star Array to envelop her, offering no resistance.
Five minutes later, Qiao Sang emerged from the bathroom with a smile, looking triumphant.
“I'm done, let's go!” Qiao Sang said with a grin, looking at the man on the sofa.
“Alright.” The man stood up and grabbed the Checkerboard Man, heading for the foyer.
Qiao Sang followed closely behind.
By the time the man had put on his shoes and opened the door, a nearly two-meter-tall, muscular man with a scowl stood at the entrance, staring at him intently.
“Who are you?” the man asked, frowning.
“I'm Pang. I'm here for the mission,” the muscular man replied expressionlessly.
The man: “!!!”
Good grief, this guy had been waiting for so long that he had forgotten about him.
“Did you post the mission?” the muscular man asked.
The man nodded. “Yes, I did.”
“Then why didn't you answer the door when I knocked?” the muscular man stepped forward, his stance intimidating.
“I—” the man began, but only managed to get out one word.
The muscular man glared at him again. “I called you, and you didn't pick up. Are you messing with me?”
The man's brow furrowed. With years of social experience, he could tell that the man in front of him was not someone to be trifled with. He seemed to be in a bad mood, and there was likely going to be trouble.
Just as he was about to explain, the muscular man glanced to the side and saw Qiao Sang, his expression instantly brightening. The face that could scare children turned red with excitement, and he exclaimed:
“Qiao Sang! You're Qiao Sang! I'm your fan! Can Flame Listener take a photo with me?”
“Sure.” Qiao Sang, in a good mood, readily agreed.
The man: “???”
A flashy red Suv was driving on the way to the Police Station.
The man, distracted, occasionally glanced at the girl looking out the window. After hesitating for a long time, he couldn't help but ask, “You're in your first year of high school?”
“Yeah,” Qiao Sang replied.
The Checkerboard Man, listening from the back seat, shuddered.
He had thought the girl's appearance and school bag were just a youthful act, and that she was at least in college. He never expected her to be so young!
To have developed her Brain Domain to this level in high school...
Hiss.
What a monster, he liked it!
The Checkerboard Man pulled out his mobile phone and searched as the muscular man had said. He quickly found Qiao Sang's account on Superblog.
He scrolled through the photos of Flame Listener and silently followed her.
At 15, she had already achieved this much. She would definitely participate in the Regional Tournament in the future!
Suddenly, the Checkerboard Man felt that Yu Xinyan was a thing of the past, and Qiao Sang was the rising star he needed to follow!
At that moment, Qiao Sang, looking out the window, had no idea that she had gained a new obsessed and supportive fan.
The Checkerboard Man was very cooperative on the way to the police station, causing no trouble.
Qiao Sang found this a bit surprising.
If someone saw this, they might think the Checkerboard Man was going to the police station to conduct business.
“Name?”
“Qiao Sang.”
“Age?”
“15.”
Qiao Sang had been to the police station multiple times, and the policewoman taking the statement knew her. However, the formalities still needed to be followed.
After the report was finished, the policewoman joked, "Why do you keep coming here every few days?"
Qiao Sang shrugged and replied with a joke, "Maybe it's fate that keeps bringing me to your station."
"Well said!" A deep voice chimed in from behind them.
Qiao Sang turned around and recognized the speaker, greeting him, "Captain Liu."
"It's a relief to see you still remember me", Liu Zhezhen said as he walked forward and sat down, smiling. "I actually wanted to contact you, but I figured you'd be busy with school and probably wouldn't have your mobile phone on you."
"How about the matter I mentioned last time?"
Qiao Sang naturally remembered what he was referring to.
The Dragon Guard Academy's sponsored training program.
In the past, Qiao Sang might have hesitated a bit, considering the Dragon Guard Academy was a top-tier institution and the first military school in the Dragon Nation—virtually every high school student's dream.
But now...
Qiao Sang remained silent for a few seconds. "Thank you, Captain Liu, but I want to become a Professional Beastmaster."
Liu Zhezhen smiled, "Becoming a Professional Beastmaster and attending the Dragon Guard Academy aren't mutually exclusive."
"No, they are", Qiao Sang said firmly. "I want to become a Beastmaster who can participate in the Interstellar Cup."
She hadn't mentioned this before because she lacked the confidence.
She knew that saying this now might sound as ridiculous to others as someone in her past claiming they would lead the national soccer team to win the World Cup. But now, she didn't feel embarrassed to say it. At worst, she'd be laughed at, but she would still strive for this goal. Qiao Sang felt that her mindset had changed.
"Phew!" The policewoman, who was sipping tea, couldn't hold back and sprayed a mouthful of water, which landed right on Liu Zhezhen's face.
Liu Zhezhen: "!!!"
When Qiao Sang got home, she immediately summoned her three familiars.
"Ya."
Fangy looked around the familiar environment and immediately moved to head for the courtyard to train.
"Wait!" Qiao Sang called out.
"Ya?" Fangy tilted his head.
"Let me introduce you to your new companion, Aquariana", Qiao Sang said, lifting Aquariana and showing her to the others.
"Lulu!" Aquariana chirped happily.
"Ya."
"Xun."
Fangy and Treasure Seeker exchanged glances.
Hadn't this guy already been their companion for a while?
"It's different. I only officially bonded with her today, so we need to have a proper introduction", Qiao Sang explained.
"Lulu!"
Aquariana lifted her head, waiting for the welcome ceremony.
"Ya."
Fangy found it boring and turned to head for the courtyard to start training.
"Lulu."
Aquariana's face fell.
"Ya Ya?"
Fangy took a few steps, then seemed to remember something and called out to Aquariana.
Do you want to train together?
"Lulu!"
Aquariana's face lit up with joy, and she wagged her tail, jumping out of Qiao Sang's arms.
Qiao Sang watched as Aquariana followed Fangy to the courtyard, feeling a mix of relief and concern.
She was relieved that the two were getting along well, but she was worried that since Aquariana was now officially bonded, the heartbreak might be just around the corner. When that time comes...
Qiao Sang turned to Treasure Seeker and encouraged him, "Try your best. I think Aquariana might evolve before you."
"Xun."
Treasure Seeker looked indifferent.
Aquariana is already so old; it's only natural for her to evolve first.
Qiao Sang: "."
Night fell.
Qiao Sang lay in bed, her consciousness entering her brain domain, and she opened the Beastmaster Codex as usual to read.
