Chapter 245: Entering Mary Geoia
Chapter 245: Entering Mary Geoia
The next morning, Gerニカ, who was in charge of guiding the ship, arrived at the docking position of the Death Stars and was obviously surprised.
"Moonlight・Moria!"
The familiar fire-onion head belonged to none other than Moria.
"Are you a special agent of the World Government? I heard Sag say that you're here to take us to Mary Geoia," Moria inquired.
Despite the night-long banquet and lack of rest, Moria was in good spirits, leaning casually against the massive tree with his hands pillowing his head.
"What are you doing here?" Gerニカ asked, his face hidden behind a mask or painted with pigments, cold sweat dripping down.
"You're one of the Seven Warriors of the Sea!" he exclaimed, his tone accusatory.
Moria laughed heartily, but after a moment's thought, he replied, "Never mind, you just need to know that I'm no longer one of the Seven Warriors. I've now joined Sag's pirate crew."
After Sag's departure, Moria had hesitated, wondering if his position as one of the Seven Warriors would still be retained, considering the extent of the battle.
In the end, the outcome was as he anticipated. Donquixote informed him that the higher-ups seemed to have changed their minds and were willing to reconsider their decision.
However, this only strengthened Moria's resolve. He didn't need a decision that was made after carefully weighing the options. If they had to deliberate about keeping him in that position, he'd rather join Sag directly! At least Sag's sincerity was undeniable.
Gerニカ took a deep breath and gazed deeply in Moria's direction without saying a word. The addition of a member of the Seven Warriors to the Calamity Pirate Crew could be both a blessing and a curse.
It would intensify the New World, but simultaneously, it would also make the Calamity even more uncontrollable.
"What are you thinking about?" Moria asked with a playful smile.
"Are you considering dealing with me here?"
"The heroes of the West Sea are not so easily dealt with," Gerニカ shook his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"I only follow orders and do what is necessary, nothing more," he added.
"That's why I admire you, Gerニカ," Moria praised.
Just then, a voice called out from the front, and Gerニカ turned to see Sag stepping down the gangplank of the black ship, his black-bottomed red-pointed velvet cape billowing gently in the breeze. A smile played on his lips as he said, "Why not give it a thought? Join us for a stint."
"Now that we're here, let's get going. We've arranged for your accommodations at positions 60-69, and we've also specially prepared elevators that can accommodate giants," Sag continued.
Gerニカ chose not to respond to Sag's offer, instead turning his attention to the massive black ship. "Similarly, if you wish to bring your ship along, we have elevators capable of accommodating its size as well. However, we won't be responsible for getting your ship moving."
"Your consideration and sincerity are commendable, hahaha! This time, you've done something that pleases me. It's a shame it didn't happen earlier; Marinford wouldn't have been destroyed otherwise," Sag chuckled.
"Stansson, can you take this ship away?" Sag inquired, turning to the giant who had been resting on the deck the previous night. He had risen, trained briefly, and taken a bath, but most of his crew, including the giant Stansson, had remained on the ground.
There wasn't much space on the ship beyond the deck, so it made little difference where one chose to rest.
Upon hearing Sag's request, Stansson, who had been sitting and consuming a massive chunk of meat, stood up, causing the ground to tremble slightly with his movement. He stuffed the remaining meat into his mouth and replied in a deep, resonating voice, "Leave it to me, Captain."
"Wait," a soft voice interjected, and everyone turned to see Lily, who had been standing quietly by Sag's side. She surveyed the gathered individuals and gave her instructions: "Ajin, take the demons onto the ship and stand by. Leti, stay on the ship and help stabilize it."
"Bellamy, Paul, Miot, and Jiangbaru, you four split into four teams and go. The rest will follow me and Sag."
Lily turned to Moria and asked, "What do you think?"
From their interaction the night before, she could sense that this former Warlord of the Sea was not only formidable in battle but also possessed keen strategic insight. With his addition, their crew now had three capable advisors.
She herself was a tactical commander, focusing on complementing Sag's plans.
Hawkins was a staff officer, predicting the success rate of their actions and offering his insights.
And now, Moria would serve as a strategist, bringing his sharp awareness of the overall situation to the crew. As he drank and conversed with Sag, it became evident that this former West Blue hero was truly extraordinary.
"Hehehehe, your arrangements are excellent, and I will follow your instructions," Moria chuckled.
He didn't worry about being overshadowed or superseded by the younger generation. After all, fostering their growth could be a rewarding experience, and as someone who joined midway, he respected the crew's traditions.
At forty-eight years old, Moria was still in his prime, but he couldn't deny the potential of the younger crew members, especially this sixteen-year-old girl standing before him, exuding an aura of dominance.
If he could help cultivate her, she would undoubtedly become the core of the Calamity Pirate Crew in the future.
Lily nodded and said, "Stansson, let's go."
Stansson approached the Death Stars and placed his hands on its hull. The veins on his arms bulged, and the muscles on his neck and forehead became pronounced. His breathing quickened, and with a loud shout, he hoisted the massive black ship onto his shoulders as if it were a sandbag.
"Oh! It's flying!"
Renitya, who was on the ship, exclaimed in surprise, but she quickly channeled her electricity powers, stabilizing the ship on Stansson's shoulders to prevent it from tilting.
"Hey, get up," Sag said as he pulled on the iron chain around Charlos' neck, forcing him to stand and follow alongside.
Gerニカ refrained from commenting and led the way to their destination.
The distance between the islands was relatively close, and after a couple of hours, they arrived at the Navy and World Government's base in Shambody, near the Red Line Continent. They waited for the elevator to descend.
Sag, along with his group of officers, entered one of the elevators.
Stansson, carrying the ship, stepped into a specially designed giant elevator, while the rest of the group split into four smaller teams and boarded other elevators.
As the elevators ascended, Sag's view expanded, and the Shambody Archipelago below gradually diminished in size until it disappeared from view. The elevators stopped high in the sky, at a massive staircase.
"Up ahead is Mary Geoia," Gerニカ informed them. "Please abide by our agreement. This is a sacred site, so I ask that you refrain from startling the World Nobles residing here. Otherwise..."
"Or what? You'll kill me? Hmph, I'm a man of my word, unlike you," Sag interrupted, his eyes glinting with a red light. "Besides, I know you've bolstered your defenses. I see two of them right here."
At the top of the grand staircase stood two figures, one blue and one yellow, as still as statues guarding the entrance.
Borsalino, the Yellow Monkey, and Kuzan, the Blue Pheasant—both admirals had been dispatched to ensure nothing unexpected occurred.
