Chapter 244: The Seal Book [37]
Chapter 244: The Seal Book [37]
In the Hidden Mist Village, within the conference room on the third floor of the Mizukage Tower, Fengye sat alone at one end of an oval table, a pen in hand as he spoke and wrote.
Seated at the other end was the Elder of the Hidden Mist Village, surrounded by several Mist ninjas. Nearby, Terumi Mei and some of the village's elite jonin were seated as well.
"That's about it," Fengye said, making a few more strokes before casually tossing the pen in his hand aside.
The Elder of the Hidden Mist Village, seated across from Fengye, looked at him with a tense gaze, cold sweat dripping from his brow. Gritting his teeth, he said, "These terms are a bit too harsh, don't you think, Hokage? Our village also suffered greatly in the war."
Fengye sat calmly, his hands crossed on the table. "The war was of your own making," he replied flatly. "If you start a war, you must be prepared to bear the consequences."
Fengye's voice was not harsh, but his calm tone weighed heavily on the room, filling the Mist ninjas with tension and unease.
"We have no choice but to accept," Mei said, rising to her feet and addressing the Elder. "We are in no position to refuse. We must give him what he wants."
The Elder remained silent.
Mei turned her gaze to Fengye, their eyes meeting briefly. A strange glint flashed in her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it and placed her hand on the table, her voice steady. "Bring the summoning scroll of the Seven Ninja Swords."
The nearby Mist ninjas exchanged hesitant glances, unsure what to do.
"Go on," the Elder finally sighed.
Though he had thoughts of defiance, he could not make such a decision for the entire village. The village that the Mizukage had built since the Warring States period could not be destroyed because of him.
Soon after, a Mist ninja entered the room, carrying a large scroll on his back.
The scroll contained the summoning jutsu for the Seven Ninja Swords, the foundation for summoning all seven swords.
Fengye took the scroll, inspected it briefly, and nodded in satisfaction. He then stood, holding the scroll.
"Then..."
"...let this war come to a temporary halt."
Fengye's eyes swept across the room, finally resting on Mei. A gentle smile played on his lips as he said, "You've done well. I look forward to the day you become the Fifth Mizukage."
In an instant, Fengye's figure vanished into thin air.
Mei watched his disappearance with a calm exterior, but her heart was far from serene. Fengye's 'well done' comment left her wondering what exactly he was praising her for.
"Elder?" Mei asked, her voice steady as she turned to the Elder beside her.
The Elder rose, leaning on his staff as he walked toward the door. "Your judgment and choice were correct," he said. "I am just a little unwilling to accept it..."
"Who could be willing?" Mei sighed.
If only Fengye had been born in the Hidden Mist Village. Then perhaps their village could have easily negotiated with the other Great Ninja Villages, and she might have already achieved her goal.
...
In Konoha, Fengye returned to the Hokage's office. With a snap of his fingers, he dismissed his shadow clone and sat down, unfurling the summoning scroll of the Seven Ninja Swords.
After a brief examination, he placed his hand on the scroll and infused it with a strand of chakra, altering one of the jutsu and sealing the scroll, thus severing the summoning contract with all other ninjas.
Fengye quickly made a single-handed seal, and white smoke flashed as the long dagger, Sewing Needle, which had previously been taken away by the Hidden Mist Village, reappeared on the table.
Speaking of which, the easiest weapon for Rin to manipulate was actually Samehada, as it was one of the tailed beasts, but the significance of Samehada lay in its ability to absorb chakra, which wasn't particularly useful for Rin, who already possessed an abundant supply as a jinchuriki.
"Come in," Fengye called out, brandishing the long dagger, Sewing Needle.
Whoosh!
Two ninjas appeared in the office, their faces unmasked but hidden beneath pitch-black cloaks, with the number 'one' emblazoned on the back.
The 'Shadow Guard 13th Squad' that Fengye had established some time ago had already taken shape, though they had not yet been officially deployed. For now, they were simply a force that he could call upon at any time.
"Send for Rin... no, forget it. Just give this to her directly," Fengye said after a moment's thought, tossing the long dagger, Sewing Needle, to one of the ninjas.
The ninja acknowledged and vanished.
Fengye then turned to the other ninja and said, "Go and inform Shikaku that I have signed a contract with the Hidden Mist Village. The specific terms are..."
The ninja took a breath as Fengye explained the details, acknowledged him, and then disappeared.
After they left, Fengye stood up from behind his desk, rolled up the summoning scroll for the Ninja Swords, and carried it toward the door of his office.
Leaving his office and walking to the deepest part of the third floor, Fengye pushed open a door that revealed a room filled with seals and barriers.
This was the Sealing Room, where important items and the Seal Books of Konoha were kept.
Fengye entered and tossed the summoning scroll for the Ninja Swords into a corner. His eyes scanned the various items in the room before landing on a scroll sitting atop a cabinet.
It was the Seal Book.
Within its pages were recorded all kinds of forbidden and secret techniques of Konoha.
Ever since becoming Hokage, Fengye had been busy with countless matters, and although he had intended to find time to study the Seal Book, he had forgotten about it until now, when he came to store the Ninja Swords scroll.
Taking the Seal Book, Fengye left the Sealing Room and returned to his office, sitting down at his desk to peruse its contents.
After breaking through to the Six Paths level, the study and practice of ninjutsu were entirely different from before.
The Six Paths Technique encompassed the nature transformations of Wind, Lightning, Water, Fire, Earth, Yin, and Yang, and with the Six Paths Technique, one could essentially possess all bloodline limits.
Similarly, Fengye could learn and use all ninjutsu based on these nature transformations, including Shadow Imitation Technique, Heart Transfer Technique, and Partial Multi-Size Technique, to name a few.
However, aside from the Partial Multi-Size Technique, which might have some utility, the others were mostly useless to him.
Fengye could easily master and use various sealing techniques, including the Impure World Reincarnation Technique, which was based on Yin Release, simply by observing the hand seals involved.
The only techniques that didn't provide any benefit were those related to space ninjutsu, as they were a separate category from the basic five nature transformations and Yin-Yang Release.
And above even those was time ninjutsu.
Space ninjutsu, summoning techniques, and substitution techniques were all considered lower-level variations of space ninjutsu, and many people had mastered them. But there were no lower-level variations of time ninjutsu.
The prophecy abilities of the Great Toad Sage, the Ghost Country Priestess, the Dragon Vein of Loren, the future prediction of Kaguya Otsutsuki, and the time-stopping abilities of Kinshiki Otsutsuki...
Including himself, one could count them all on one hand.
