Chapter 243: Iron Fang Ge
Chapter 243: Iron Fang Ge
September 25th, 2017
The battle began as Lu HaiKong entered the arena, carrying the Primordial Axe. Everyone watched him, not with hostility, but with the curiosity one might have for a rare animal.
Despite Lu HaiKong's seemingly effortless grip on the heavy axe, the Huns in the audience showed no hint of respect.
After all, the seven Huns present represented the strongest warriors from seven different tribes. Each had earned their place by defeating thousands, even tens of thousands of opponents. In their eyes, what was one Han person to them?
As Lu HaiKong arrived, the seven Huns exchanged glances, seemingly discussing who would be the first to end this tragic and laughable affair.
Before they could reach a decision, Lu HaiKong casually leaned his axe against the wall and waved his hand at them, "Don't waste time. All of you, come at me together."
His posture and tone were so arrogant and domineering that the seven Huns, including Uyun Tu and He SuiMeng, were left speechless. Had this Han gone mad?
The entire audience of Huns was stunned, and then a wave of insults and jeers erupted like an avalanche.
Lu HaiKong's audacity united the Huns from all tribes in their reaction. Each wanted their strongest warrior to teach this Han a lesson.
Ignoring the cacophony of voices behind him, Lu HaiKong stood with one hand on the axe and the other pointing at the seven Huns.
"Don't hesitate. No matter who comes at me, they won't withstand a single blow from my axe. Come at me together; only then will you have a sliver of hope to win."
Lu HaiKong's advice was sincere, but the seven Huns would never accept it.
"I've never seen such an arrogant Han. You've truly opened my eyes. I thought you were just a pathetic and laughable fellow, but I never imagined you'd be so pitiful. You know nothing of your own weakness, and I don't know how to describe your pitiful state."
Among the seven Huns, Iron Fang Ge from the Iron Cliff Tribe stepped forward. In his hand was a wolf-fang club, and though not particularly tall, his well-proportioned build and handsome features made him stand out among the Huns. He was a man of exceptional appearance and strength.
As he stepped forward, the entire arena fell silent, and everyone looked at him with reverence, even though many were not from the same tribe as Iron Fang Ge.
Iron Fang Ge was a legendary figure. As a child, he was taken by wolves and lived among them until he was ten, when he was discovered and accepted by the Iron Cliff Tribe. Since then, the tribe had gained a War God. In a battle against the opposing He Sui Tribe, he single-handedly slew over a hundred of their warriors, and his reputation for invincibility grew. Only after He SuiMeng rose to prominence did the He Sui Tribe dare to raise their heads before the Iron Cliff Tribe.
However, even with He SuiMeng's growth, no one believed he could be a match for the War God. He SuiMeng could only hope to withstand the blows from Iron Fang Ge. Among the seven tribes, Iron Fang Ge was recognized as the most formidable warrior.
Some even placed him alongside Uyun Qiqige, saying they were the perfect couple of the grasslands.
With such a man stepping forward, Lu HaiKong might as well have been dead in the eyes of the audience.
Another key figure in this battle was Uyun Qiqige, who was also observing the arena. When Iron Fang Ge appeared, Uyun Qiqige's eyebrows furrowed slightly, though they had been creased since Lu HaiKong's provocation. They deepened further as Iron Fang Ge stepped forward.
Uyun Qiqige knew this handsome man well, and she was aware of the wildness within him. Once the battle began, she expected him to be the first target of the other Huns' attacks. If he withstood the onslaught of the remaining six Huns, Lu HaiKong would have a chance at victory. But she hadn't anticipated his audacity, challenging all of them at once.
"What a conceited and arrogant man. It would be best if he died!"
Though she spoke these words, Uyun Qiqige continued to watch the arena, her delicate fingers turning slightly pale from the tension.
In the arena, or rather, on the stage, Lu HaiKong faced the Hun and asked again, "Are you sure you want to fight me alone?"
"Do you know what you're saying? Do you know who stands before you? It's Iron Fang Ge! The War God of the grasslands for a hundred li!"
"A mere Han, does Iron Fang Ge need help to deal with you?"
"Han, I advise you to kneel and beg for mercy. Perhaps then, Iron Fang Ge might spare your life."
As soon as Lu HaiKong finished speaking, the crowd jeered at him. Wave after wave, round after round of ridicule washed over him, but Lu HaiKong ignored it all.
In the 16th book, 1st chapter, 1st paragraph, 1st sentence, there is no mistake!
"Hun, let me advise you not to listen to their boasts. Only by joining the others against me will you survive and give me a challenge. Otherwise, this battle will be too dull."
"You pathetic, ignorant Han!" Iron Fang Ge scoffed, and with a wave of his wolf-fang club, a wild and fierce aura surged forth, overwhelming even those watching from a distance.
The aura was so powerful that even the distant spectators took a step back.
"Well? Do you still dare to speak such words? Shouldn't you be preparing to surrender?" Iron Fang Ge asked as he approached Lu HaiKong, a cruel smile on his lips.
"Surrender is useless, Han. Uyun Qiqige is mine, and I won't allow anyone else to possess her, not even nominally. From the moment I heard of you, I swore to shatter your bones, to grind your blood into the ground so that it can never be removed."
The crowd shuddered at the bloodthirsty words, and they could see that Iron Fang Ge was indeed like a wild beast.
At this moment, Lu HaiKong, who stood opposite him, sighed, "Why won't people listen to reason?"
