Chapter 241: Sublimation
Chapter 241: Sublimation
"So this is the world of Rosary Maiden." After shaking hands with Mercury Lamp, Liam watched the small Puppet walking around the table with a confident air, and suddenly understood. After all, he hadn't watched much anime in his previous life. He only knew this character because she appeared in a famous science fiction novel he read on a website, where she was the second princess of a powerful empire.
However, this Mercury Lamp was much more approachable than her counterpart in the story, far from the cold and aloof character she was supposed to be. This was understandable, as her creator hadn't experienced the loss of a daughter and was instead excited about the door to the Supernatural World that his daughter had opened. Therefore, not only had she not been abandoned by her creator, but she had been officially recognized as his daughter and introduced to Alice.
In this situation, it was normal for her not to be as aloof and obsessive as in her previous life. Although this might have taken away some of her character traits, Liam felt that this Mercury Lamp was the happiest version of her.
"I plan to create a few more daughters in the future, so the house will be much livelier. Now, thinking back, the house used to be too cold and quiet, not at all like a home." Rogen said to his two daughters.
Then he turned to Liam, "Could you help me gather some materials from other worlds? Some things are not available in this world. When I created Mercury Lamp, I used up all the gifts you gave me."
"Of course, no problem, teacher." Liam nodded vigorously. "The seeds of magical creatures and other materials are not rare in other worlds. If you need them, I can collect a lot."
"Thank you. Without those materials, I might have to use a lot of my own soul as a component to give Puppet a true soul."
Seeing Rogen's pleased expression, Liam took the opportunity to ask a question. "Teacher, can you still create the Elixirs extracted from that Abnormal Crystal?"
"Do you have a relative who needs it?" Rogen shook his head. "Unfortunately, without the raw materials, I can't replicate the Elixirs. The Crystal contained certain fundamental rules of a world, and without materials of that caliber, I can't create similar Elixirs. However, I can create health-enhancing Elixirs that ordinary people can drink. Although they won't grant them extraordinary powers, they can ensure a healthy body. If you need them, I can give you a few."
"Thank you so much, teacher." Liam expressed his gratitude sincerely.
"Don't mention it. You've helped me so much, and as your teacher, I feel a bit ashamed. I'm really happy to be able to help you now."
Over the next month, under Rogen's guidance, Liam gained a basic understanding of Alchemy and consolidated his powers. One day, after finishing his lecture, Rogen said to Liam, "I've decided to take my daughters out for a trip soon to make up for the past. You've been in this world for a while, so I think it's time for you to go home. I'll hold a ceremony for you before we leave to help you form your own Alchemical Core. This way, you can organize the powers you've mastered without worrying about any future complications."
"Thank you so much." Liam bowed deeply, then stood up and said, "Will it be too much trouble for you?"
"Don't worry. If you continue at this pace, you'll form an Alchemical Core within half a year. I'm just helping you save time on accumulating energy and ensuring you don't run into any danger. It's not a big deal." Rogen waved his hand.
The next morning, Liam, after packing his things, arrived at the underground Alchemy Laboratory in the backyard, feeling a bit nervous. Rogen was already waiting there.
Seeing Liam arrive, Rogen opened a hidden door disguised as a wall. Inside the door was a sealed room with pale blue candles burning at each corner. Liam noticed that these candles were not made of wax but were cast from a special type of glass.
In addition, at the center of the Chamber of Secrets, a circular Magic Array was drawn on the ground using golden powder. Each line of the array was composed of countless tiny runes. Liam had initially wanted to study these runes, but after a while, he could only reluctantly give up.
"You don't have the strength to understand this yet, but if you study Alchemy seriously and finish the first third of the notebook I gave you, you should be able to research this Magic Array", Rogen said gently, noticing Liam's attempt to decipher the array. "I spent the entire night yesterday to set this up. Now, sit at the center of the array and enter a meditative state. I'll handle the rest."
Following Rogen's instructions, Liam tiptoed to avoid the intricate patterns and walked to the center of the Magic Array. He sat down cross-legged, placing his hands flat on his knees, and began to meditate. Once he entered the meditative state, Rogen activated the Magic Array.
The runes on the Magic Array lit up one by one, then began to flow across the array. Liam felt a force emanating from the various rune nodes beneath him, connecting through his body and linking to his Mind Sea. In an instant, his Mind Sea, which was usually calm, was no longer so. Golden light points began to emerge from his mind, then spread throughout his body.
As these light points circulated, they traversed his blood vessels, meridians, and Dantian, imbuing them with various powers. Liam could see green Natural Power, silver lightning force, yellow Taoist Power, black death energy, and red Life Force. Even a faint Violet Aura and bright red Blood Force seeped out from his physical body.
Finally, these light points, now carrying various powers, returned to his mind and began to slowly rotate at the center of his Mind Sea. It was then that Liam realized each light point was a Transcendent Symbol, containing both familiar runes, Seal Script, and Ancient South American pictograms, as well as symbols he had never seen before.
"Are these symbols converting all the powers into their basic forms?" he thought to himself, observing the golden light points.
The vortex in his mind spun faster and faster, and finally, Liam felt a buzzing in his head as if he had been transported to another world. He felt his consciousness break free from the constraints of his physical body, extending outward as if merging with the vast universe.
Just as Liam's consciousness began to blur, a golden light from the Magic Array flowed into his body, jolting him awake like being thrown into ice water on a winter morning. At the same time, Rogen's voice echoed in his mind.
"Focus your consciousness and don't get lost. Then, use your will to concentrate all of this into a single point in your Mind Sea."
Liam followed Rogen's instructions and began to guide the light points in his Mind Sea toward the center. Fortunately, the light points were already spinning rapidly, naturally generating a centripetal force. He only needed to guide them slightly.
Under Liam's guidance, the light points finally converged at a single point, which then emitted an unprecedented glow, enveloping his entire Mind Sea.
Finally, as the light faded, Liam felt a bright red sphere floating above his Mind Sea. When he focused his consciousness on this sphere, he could see that it was composed of countless runes.
At the same time, he felt the energy flow within his body become smoother than ever before, and the subtle barriers caused by the multiple legacies within him completely disappeared.
"Alright, you can come out of the Alchemy Array now", Rogen's voice echoed again. "You have completed the entire Ascension Ceremony. Now, you can truly be called a true Alchemist who has mastered the key to unlocking the power of Truth."
