Chapter 240: Take Care of Rin [67]
Chapter 240: Take Care of Rin [67]
"It's over."
Feng Ye gripped Obito by the neck, his gaze calm and unyielding.
With the power of the Rinnegan, Kamui was no longer an absolute life-saving ability, and the same went for the reverse summoning technique. Through the Rinnegan's ability to perceive spatial distortions, he could easily open a spatial passage and follow Obito through.
Obito's ability was indeed troublesome.
Especially since he hadn't given Kakashi a Sharingan eye, retaining both his Mangekyo Sharingan eyes. In this flawless state, breaking through Kamui was incredibly difficult.
But now...
It was all over.
"Cough... You..."
Blood trickled from the corner of Obito's mouth as he tried to gather his chakra to break free from Feng Ye's grip. But with the Six Paths power surging through Feng Ye's palm, Obito's chakra was instantly scattered.
The power of a half-Sage body was undoubtedly inferior to the Six Paths body and power, which surpassed even that of a Sage, and his regenerative abilities were suppressed as well.
Feng Ye and Obito stared at each other for a moment.
Through the perspective of the Rinnegan, Feng Ye could clearly see Obito's current state. The curse mark on Obito's heart had shattered from Feng Ye's previous attack, but there were still traces of dark chakra lingering in his Mangekyo Sharingan.
Buzz!!
The power of the Rinnegan was activated.
...
In a world of white nothingness.
This was not an illusion, but a realm between fantasy and reality, or perhaps the last place a person's consciousness lingered before death.
Obito found himself here, frozen and dazed. After a few seconds, he slowly regained his senses and realized what had happened.
His mind now held additional memories.
They were of Rin becoming the jinchuriki of the Three-Tails, her eventual rescue by Feng Ye, and the process by which Uchiha Madara had manipulated the Kirigakure ninja.
Due to the destruction of the remnant of Uchiha Madara's spirit that had lingered in his soul, Obito's sanity had been restored.
"I... I actually..."
"Uchiha Madara..."
In his lucid state, Obito instantly realized that he had been manipulated by Uchiha Madara and that everything up until now had been part of Madara's scheme.
He had been completely controlled by Uchiha Madara without even realizing it, even going so far as to consider killing Rin and then resurrecting her for the sake of creating a new world.
Obito became aware of the extent of his actions.
"It seems you've finally come to your senses," Feng Ye said, appearing silently before Obito and gazing at him calmly.
Uchiha Obito looked at Feng Ye, his eyes flashing with a myriad of emotions before finally revealing a pained expression. "I'm sorry... I..."
Feng Ye shook his head. "It's not entirely your fault. No one could escape the control of an existence like Uchiha Madara, especially not when you were just a chunin at the time."
Obito lowered his head, his eyes filled with deep self-reproach as he clenched his fists tightly.
After a moment, he slowly unclenched his fists and looked at Feng Ye. With a bitter smile, he said, "Long Door is in an underground location near the Land of Earth. We built a new base there. The specific location of the base is..."
As he spoke, Obito raised his hand and a tendril of chakra swiftly drew a crude map in the air, marking the location of Long Door's base.
After committing the map to memory, Feng Ye turned to Tobirama and asked, "So, what's your plan from here? Will you return to the Ninja World, or... will you just die here?"
Tobirama met Feng Ye's gaze, their eyes locking for a few seconds before he averted his eyes, a bitter expression on his face. "After doing what I did, I can't go back... Also, thank you for saving Rin before."
"You don't have to thank me. I wasn't able to save you from Uchiha Madara back then," Feng Ye shook his head.
Tobirama stared blankly at the white nothingness beneath his feet, his mind conjuring up images of Rin and memories of the past.
Finally, he snapped out of his reverie, sighed, and said bitterly, "I won't go back... Take my eyes back with you. They can become a source of power to protect Rin and Konoha."
As he spoke, he lifted his head to look at Feng Ye.
"If Uchiha Madara has any other plans, Rin, as the jinchuriki of the Three-Tails, will surely remain a target... Rin has always liked you, so I hope you can continue to protect her and spare her from suffering."
Feng Ye suddenly felt like quipping, 'Quite a few people seem to like me,' but looking at Tobirama's expression, he felt that saying such a thing would be too cruel.
Well.
After all, I'm not some kind of devil.
In the end, Feng Ye nodded and said, "I will protect Rin."
"Then... I entrust her to you."
Tobirama's face finally showed a mixture of bitterness and relief, and soon after, his body disintegrated into countless white specks of light that merged with the white world, his soul ascending to the heavens.
Watching Tobirama's figure disappear, Feng Ye shook his head.
Then,
A glimmer of sky-blue light flashed in his Rinnegan, his gaze piercing deep into the white world in a certain direction, before he vanished without a sound.
At the far end of that direction were two figures floating in the air, looking in his direction. The two figures resembled each other, and both had pitch-black Pathfinder Orbs floating beside them.
They were Hagoromo Otsutsuki and...
The Sage of Six Paths!
The Sage of Six Paths and Hagoromo Otsutsuki were also looking in Feng Ye's direction, neither able to see the other but both sensing each other's presence. Their gazes intersected across the void for a fleeting moment.
"He's sensed our presence," Hagoromo Otsutsuki said slowly.
Now that Feng Ye had stepped into the Six Paths realm, he was essentially the same level of existence as them and had gained the ability to enter this world between life and death.
"If it weren't for you, it might have taken him much longer to attain his current power," the Sage of Six Paths said as he withdrew his gaze and looked at Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Hagoromo Otsutsuki remained silent for a few seconds before closing his eyes again.
The Sage of Six Paths shook his head. With his Six Paths Staff, he gently pointed downwards at the white land below, revealing the scene of Kirigakure in the Ninja World.
...
Kirigakure.
On top of a certain rooftop.
Feng Ye took out Tobirama Senju's Mangekyo Sharingan and placed it down. After some thought, he used one of the Seeking Path Jades to envelop Tobirama's body, eventually reducing it to ashes.
"I'll do what I can to ensure you won't be disturbed by Edo Tensei," Feng Ye said as he watched Tobirama Uchiha's body completely disintegrate into ashes within the protection of the jade. He then sealed the Mangekyo Sharingan into a scroll.
