Chapter 240: A Strange Feeling
Chapter 240: A Strange Feeling
Ever since Professor Snape mentioned the Ravenclaw Knowledge Treasury to Albert, he had been feeling something was amiss.
This should have been a secret!
Yet, Professor Snape outright told him about it?
Does he consider Albert an ally? Does he want to enlist his help in uncovering its secrets? Or is there...
One question after another surfaced in Albert's mind, mainly because the task related to Professor Snape, "Has other intentions," remained unfinished on his task panel.
If Professor Snape's sole purpose for coming to Hogwarts was the Ravenclaw Knowledge Treasury, then the task should have been completed when he revealed his reason for being here.
But... that task was still unfinished, which made Albert suspicious. The actual situation was clearly not what it seemed on the surface.
Albert subconsciously remained vigilant towards Professor Snape.
After all, in the Harry Potter story, half of the troublemakers at Hogwarts were somehow related to the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
The name of this task, "Has other intentions," was also quite meaningful.
If Professor Snape's presence at Hogwarts wasn't because of the Ravenclaw Knowledge Treasury, then what other intentions could he have?
Albert wasn't quite sure yet, but he felt that Isabelle might know something. However, she had never brought it up, and he didn't have a good way to approach the topic.
Speaking of Isabelle, he suddenly remembered the Runic Stone divination from long ago. The divination had predicted danger that would be difficult to avoid, and his result was similar to Isabelle's. He wondered if there was any connection between their divinations, as neither of their predictions had come to pass yet.
"Anyone else planning to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas, remember to come and register with me." Professor McGonagall's voice interrupted Albert's train of thought.
At the beginning of December, Professor McGonagall had informed everyone that students staying at school for the Christmas holiday needed to register. In reality, hardly anyone would want to remain at Hogwarts during the festive season. Today, Professor McGonagall brought it up again at the end of the Transfiguration class to ensure that no one forgot about it.
"I think staying at Hogwarts for Christmas won't be bad. We can take the opportunity to explore the castle when it's empty." During lunch, George mumbled.
"Then why are you going home for the holidays?" Lee Jordan couldn't help but tease, "You can apply to stay at school if you want."
"No, no, I think it's better to go home for Christmas." George winked at Lee Jordan, "Also, Ron will be coming to Hogwarts next year. As his brothers, we should tell him about the school in advance."
"Tell him about the Sorting?" Lee Jordan recalled the incident during the Sorting.
"That's a good idea. I've decided to tell Ron that Hogwarts sorts students through a test." George suddenly said.
"We should tell him that this test can be quite harmful to students." Fred added.
"Ron, is he the one whose tongue got burnt by the acid pops you gave him?" Albert couldn't help but laugh, "Are there any brothers as mischievous as you two?"
"Wow, you still remember that!" The twins both showed incredulous expressions.
"My memory has always been pretty good." Albert shook his head, "Next year, Hogwarts might welcome a very important person."
"What important person?" The three asked in unison.
"Potter!" Albert knocked on the book on the table, reminding them, "The famous Harry Potter, don't tell me you don't know. I've seen his name in several books already. In the wizarding world, people call him the Savior."
"Potter defeated the Mysterious One." Fred made a grand gesture, "And he was just a baby back then."
"Everyone is curious about how he did it." George continued, "The Mysterious One killed so many people, but he didn't kill Potter, and instead, he was defeated by an infant."
"Is the Mysterious One dead?" Albert asked, feigning curiosity.
"He's dead. Many people say he's dead, but Dad said that Dumbledore thinks the Mysterious One might still be alive." Fred lowered his voice, "Those dark wizards have a lot of strange magic."
"I'm more curious about why the Mysterious One failed." George mumbled, "Potter is the only one who escaped the Killing Curse."
"Which house do you think Potter will be sorted into?" Lee Jordan changed the topic.
"I hope he'll be in Gryffindor." George replied without hesitation.
"I hope he's in our house too." Fred immediately echoed.
"The possibility is quite high." Albert nodded.
"Wow!" Fred pretended to be surprised, "Now I'm even more confident that Potter will be in Gryffindor."
"I have a similar premonition." Lee Jordan said seriously, "After all, whatever Albert says, good or bad, always comes true."
"Stop joking." Albert rolled his eyes at the three of them and casually explained, "There's a Quidditch Cup won by James Potter in the school's trophy room. I think he should be the relative of that Savior. In the wizarding world, many wizards are sorted into the same house as their family. Of course, there are a few exceptions."
This was just an excuse to deflect the topic from Fred and the others, as Albert naturally knew that Potter would be in Gryffindor.
"I heard that Harry Potter lives with his Muggle relatives." Lee Jordan suddenly said, "He's probably not living a good life."
"You'll find out next year. If Potter is skinny, it means he's not doing well, and if he's fat, it means he's living comfortably." Albert thought for a moment and suddenly asked, "By the way, has anyone secretly gone to visit Harry Potter?"
"No, I think he's been protected from those dark wizards since he was young, so Potter has been kept out of sight. Everyone knows he was handed over to Muggle relatives, but not many know where he actually lives." Fred shook his head.
"Right, are you planning to make a Savior card? I'm really looking forward to that." Lee Jordan's tone was excited, and the Wizarding Cards were gaining more and more influence at Hogwarts.
Nowadays, they often saw students playing cards in the dining hall, common rooms, and on the grass, discussing how to build better decks.
The Wizarding Cards had completely overshadowed Wizard Chess and Gobstones, but the students craved even more exquisite cards.
Unfortunately, the current Wizarding Cards were still in their infancy and required patience and nurturing.
The topic of the four somehow drifted, and they started talking about signing up for the tournament. Lee Jordan suggested increasing the number of participants and using the registration fees to reduce Albert's expenditure on prizes.
"This way, our workload will become increasingly heavy." Albert reminded them.
"We can change the rules as long as it's relatively fair." Fred proposed, "After all, only a small minority actually knows how to play well. Most people are just joining in on the fun."
Albert opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.
Fair and just?
What were those?
Just thinking about the Triwizard Tournament was enough to know that there was no such thing as fairness and justice. Those were just empty words; no one truly took them seriously. Victory was all that mattered.
