Chapter 237: You Know Too Much!
Chapter 237: You Know Too Much!
Looking at the massive corpse of the Basilisk lying before him, Ivan finally breathed a sigh of relief. This thing was really tough to deal with.
If he hadn't taken advantage of the Basilisk being entangled with Aragog, the outcome would have been uncertain.
Ivan couldn't help but complain about the wizards who wrote the books, failing to specify how long a Rooster's crow needed to kill a Basilisk.
He used five Roosters, and it took several minutes for the Basilisk to finally die, and he wasn't even sure if it was from blood loss.
Fortunately, the Rooster's crow wasn't his only reliance; otherwise, he would have been doomed by the book's inaccuracies.
Ivan sighed, took out a test tube from his pocket, and collected the blood flowing from the Basilisk's wounds.
Magic Item: [[Basilisk Blood]]
Description: This blood is extracted from a thousand-year-old Basilisk, containing extremely potent vitality and Magic Power.
Ivan gazed at the information provided by the System, feeling a mix of surprise. The longer the Basilisk lived, the stronger it became, making the blood's Magic Power even more powerful.
This meant that the enhancement he would gain from the fusion would be greater!
Crack, crack.
"Thank you, wizard, for saving me", Aragog moved its front legs with great effort, struggling to stand up. The snake venom had left it visibly weak.
Acromantulas were highly venomous creatures with strong resistance to toxins, but after holding on for so long, Aragog was close to death.
However, it didn't want to die, so it humbly pleaded, "Do you have a way to cure the snake venom in my body?"
"No, I don't!" Ivan shook his head, speaking cruelly.
The only method he knew to treat snake venom was Phoenix Tears, but Dumbledore wouldn't save a vicious Acromantula.
Even if he did, it would be too late by then.
So, it was best to accept its fate.
Aragog fell silent for a moment, then suddenly spoke. "I'm going to die, wizard. Could you do me a favor?"
"Do you have a message for Hagrid?" Ivan turned to look at the aged giant Spider, asking seriously.
"No! I want you to find the person who opened the Chamber of Secrets, and kill them!" Aragog's words were filled with malice.
Having experienced the Chamber of Secrets incident fifty years ago, Aragog knew that the Basilisk had been dormant in the Chamber, and would only appear if summoned.
Thinking of this, Aragog was about to share everything it knew with the wizard, begging this friend of Hagrid to avenge its clan!
However, just as it was about to speak, Aragog realized that the wizard's appearance seemed too coincidental.
Why would a wizard enter its lair in the middle of the night, and just happen to be there when the Basilisk attacked?
Unless...
"The one who released the Basilisk is you!" Aragog trembled, screaming.
The moment those words left its mouth, an invisible blade instantly pierced through Aragog's head! The aged Acromantula took a few more steps before its massive body collapsed.
Ivan lowered his Wand, looking at Aragog's corpse, and said once more.
"You know too much!"
The dim cave fell into silence, leaving only the bodies on the ground. Ivan looked around, hesitating about how to proceed.
"Wait, how much does a vial of Acromantula venom cost again?" Ivan stroked his chin, feeling quite excited. He felt like he was about to become wealthy overnight!
If he wasn't mistaken, the venom of the Acromantula was worth over sixty Galleons per vial in the black market of Diagon Alley!
If it could be sold legally, the price would soar to a hundred Galleons!
After clearing out the nest, Ivan felt that collecting sixty to seventy vials wouldn't be a problem.
Adding the Galleons he had extorted from Lockhart, Ivan suddenly realized that earning twenty thousand Galleons wasn't as difficult as he had thought.
With this in mind, Ivan became as invigorated as if he had been injected with a stimulant. He cut out all the venom sacs from the Acromantulas, and along with them, the valuable items like the Basilisk's teeth and shed skin, and packed them all up.
It took him the entire night to transfer the most valuable materials from the cave to the Room of Requirement.
Those that were too heavy and difficult to carry had to be left behind.
Finally, Ivan took the two living Roosters with him, walked out of the cave, and turned back to wave his Wand, casting a spell.
"Thunder Blast!"
A massive explosion echoed, and the wide entrance of the cave was half-collapsed. Ivan followed up with another spell, completely burying the Acromantula nest.
"Without the Basilisk, what can you do, Tom?" Ivan muttered to himself, looking at the collapsed entrance.
Since killing the Basilisk, Ivan had felt much more relaxed, but this didn't mean he had stopped. On the contrary, he became even busier.
Not only was he searching for Horcruxes, but his improved Fusion Potion was also about to be completed, which meant he could soon fuse with a second bloodline:
Basilisk blood!
So for the remaining day, Ivan spent most of his time in the Room of Requirement, studying the various materials left by Slytherin, deepening his knowledge of Bloodline Fusion.
His understanding of the Basilisk also grew more profound.
"Basilisks are the most dangerous and powerful creatures created by wizards!" Ivan stroked the end of the parchment, lost in thought.
He remembered reading in the book "Lineage of Blood" that some ambitious wizards used various methods to cultivate the most powerful and compatible Magical Creatures for themselves.
The creator of the Basilisk, the despicable Herpo the Foul, had this goal in mind.
According to the records, Herpo was the first to fuse with the Basilisk bloodline and became one of the most famous Dark Wizards, rumored to be able to kill his opponents instantly.
Salazar Slytherin was probably the second person to fuse with Basilisk blood!
However, the parchment did not record what specific abilities the founder of Hogwarts gained from this fusion.
But one thing was clearly stated: fusing with snake blood would have no adverse effects.
Ivan put down the parchment and walked to the cauldron that was bubbling and hissing. He looked at the Potion inside, which had turned into a chaotic mixture, and without hesitation, added the cold Basilisk blood.
The chaotic Potion rose, and in a few minutes, it slowly turned deep green, shimmering with a faint glow.
"System, activate Protection Mode!" Ivan filled the Potion into a test tube, held it in his hand, and said.
