The rain had stopped.
Seeing Steelclaw suddenly appear behind her, Qiao Sang immediately understood that the rain earlier wasn't caused by the bird familiar at all. It was her own doing.
Steelclaw's sudden appearance did make her flinch for a moment, but that was all!
"Treasure Seeker, Shadow Control!" Qiao Sang shouted as she moved to Li Songhai's side.
In a battle without rules, the position next to the opposing Beastmaster was naturally the safest, especially when that Beastmaster was unconscious.
Qiao Sang wasn't admitting to being a coward; she was just being cautious!
"Seek!"
Treasure Seeker extended two short toes, and under the sunlight, its shadow twisted and stretched directly toward Steelclaw.
Without any commands from its Beastmaster, Steelclaw instinctively jumped backward to dodge.
Treasure Seeker's small size meant that, despite the sun just rising and casting long shadows, it couldn't keep up with Steelclaw's large and swift movements. The shadow's extension speed simply couldn't match the distance Steelclaw was pulling away.
"Fangy, hold it!" Qiao Sang decided on the spot.
In mid-air, Fangy's eyes quickly turned blue.
An invisible force made Steelclaw's movements stagger, and in that brief pause, the dark shadow on the ground rapidly extended and connected to Steelclaw's shadow.
Before Steelclaw could start to struggle, Treasure Seeker's short toes moved, and under the control of Shadow Control, Steelclaw began spinning on the spot.
"Steel Armor!!"
Steelclaw's cry of pain snapped Rain Swift out of the series of events.
"Chichi!"
Rain Swift, stifling the pain in its wings, flapped and quickly ascended into the sky. Then, it dove downward, its speed suddenly increasing, enveloped in a green glow.
Its target was Treasure Seeker.
"Dodge!"
Qiao Sang made a calm judgment.
Brave Bird Assault, a Mid-Rank Flying-Type Skill, was considered one of the more difficult and powerful moves among Intermediate Skills, with both speed and attack power to be reckoned with.
However, this move had a flaw: it would also inflict some of the damage it dealt to the target back on the user.
But if the familiar using Brave Bird Assault had the Traits of a hard head and magical defense, it wouldn't suffer any self-inflicted damage.
Treasure Seeker's defenses couldn't withstand this move, and Fangy still had Aquariana on its back. Using Blazing Charge like at the beginning wouldn't work.
Rain Swift's speed after using Brave Bird Assault was incredibly fast, and Fangy's other attacks didn't have a 100% chance of hitting.
If it missed, Treasure Seeker would be injured. If it hit, Treasure Seeker would still suffer from the aftershock. It wasn't worth the risk.

Treasure Seeker teleported three meters away.
Rain Swift missed.

The scorching fire rapidly formed a large Flame Listener's head and Flame Fang in front of Fangy.
The flame-formed Flame Listener, following Fangy's movements, bit down with a fierce snap.

Steelclaw let out a heart-wrenching scream and fell to the ground, losing consciousness with a thud.
Aquariana, sitting on Fangy's back, felt her heart skip a beat, then speed up, and accelerate even more.
