Chapter 234: Exploring the Otherworld Again
Chapter 234: Exploring the Otherworld Again
"Source Essence Lord!"
"King of Ten Thousand Forms!"
"Tai Wei..."
In his mind, Karl silently recited the 'Divine Name', causing ripples in the Divine Realm Fragment, drawing several souls into it.
Under Karl's control, the souls were like open books, revealing their past experiences.
Even the most secretive cultivation methods were laid bare.
"Kill one person, gain their memories. If I kill a million people, wouldn't I achieve immortality on the spot?"
"I'm just a Divine Realm Fragment. If it's a Deity..."
"No wonder the Deities know everything and are all-powerful!"
Karl shook his head slightly and focused on the cultivation method that Deshiu was practicing, his eyes flashing slightly.
"Flame Condensation Technique!"
"Although it's only a second-rank heritage, this Fire Demon's heritage is quite profound. It can transform the body into flames to a certain extent, something that the Order of the Mystic's heritage can only achieve at the third rank."
"Hmm..."
"I wonder if this method of concealing one's aura can hide from the Green Family's means. Most likely, it won't work."
The main reason Karl had been hiding in the Dream Bazaar was his fear of the Green Family.
If he could cover up the Green Family's means of locking onto his aura...
He would be free to go wherever he wanted.
"Fire School!"
Stroking his chin, Karl pondered, "Could it be that I have a connection with the Fire School? If I switch to the Fire School, I won't have to worry about heritage until I reach the Fourth Circle Wizard."
"Forget it!"
Shaking his head, he said, "To construct the Life Source of a Third Circle Magic within the realm of a Second Circle Wizard, the Meditation Technique must not be changed."
"Even if I were to change it, I'd have to do it after constructing the Life Source."
Just as everything was tidied up, and he was about to return to the main world, a thought crossed Karl's mind, sparking a different idea.
'I wonder how the other world is doing?'
In just a few decades, he had risen from a destitute baron to his current state, and the resources from the other world were of utmost importance.
If he were to lose them...
It would be a great pity!
Although he still had the Divine Realm Fragment as a trump card and a divine gift, he lacked the resources from one world.
"Let's take a look!"
With narrowed eyes, Karl flashed and arrived in the other world.
Although he suspected that the other world was currently dangerous, he couldn't resist the urge to go and see for himself.
What if...
What if everything was fine?
"Boom!"
"Crack..."
Thunder roared, deafeningly loud.
Karl's body appeared in the void.
All around him were raging hurricanes, surging seas, crumbling land, and a collapsing sky.
The Blood Moon, which had always hung in the horizon, now resembled a shattered corpse, falling piece by piece toward the earth.
"Huff..."
Suddenly, a giant mouth that devoured everything appeared, and the land within a thousand-mile radius was drawn toward it.
Damn! Karl's heart raced, and he instinctively wanted to return to the Divine Realm Fragment.
But to his surprise, the place he could once return to with a single thought now seemed to be held back by some immense force, shaking and unable to return.
His body alternated between being illusory and solid but couldn't escape the pull and return to the Divine Realm.
"Bang!"
A massive shadow slammed into him, causing Karl's body to tremble, and he couldn't control his thoughts as he was drawn into the mouth.
Holy Demonic Transformation!
Ten Thousand Buddha Hands - Vajra Seal!
"Bang!"
"Bang, bang!"
In the pitch-black darkness where he couldn't even see his fingers, his spirit was in turmoil, and his body kept colliding with other objects.
Perhaps a century had passed, or maybe just a fleeting moment.
When Karl regained his senses, his body had already crashed into the deep sea, and intense pain surged through him, causing his consciousness to blur.
"Bang!"
Sea water shot up into the sky, reaching a height of over a hundred meters. Karl, submerged in the deep sea, looked up through the water's surface at the collapsing sky.
The 'Blood Moon', the Divine Realm of the Moon Goddess, was falling piece by piece from the Celestial Realm into the mortal world.
Hundreds of meter-long, twisted, and terrifying tentacles spanned the void, swaying frantically.
A vertical eye, comparable in size to the moon, slowly opened.
Several ancient, massive shadows stood atop the horizon, distorting and flipping the fabric of space and time.
...
"Ah!"
Karl let out a cry of despair as his eyes shattered instantly.
The mere leakage of the Evil Deity's aura was enough to drive him mad, causing his body to uncontrollably approach collapse.
The Divine Realm Fragment within his Mental Sea flashed wildly, and then a tremendous force pulled him into it.
Divine Realm Fragment.
Karl's body alternated between the shape of a deep-sea squid and a human form, mostly staying in an intermediate state.
After a long while, Karl let out a sigh of relief, wiping the sweat from his forehead. He had barely managed to regain his human form, and his eyes still held a hint of terror.
"I'm a Second Circle Wizard, and I've cultivated spiritual secrets. In theory, I should be able to withstand a Fourth Rank Mental Shock," Karl explained.
"Just now..."
"It must have been a Sixth Rank High Deity, or even a Seventh Rank Great Deity-level existence, fighting nearby. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to bear the aftermath of their auras."
Karl took a deep breath and shook his head helplessly, "It seems that the barrier of the Moon Goddess has finally shattered, and the invasion of the Outer Realm's evil deities is now inevitable."
"In the future..."
"Forget it!"
---
Although Evelyn didn't entirely agree with Karl's idea, she diligently carried out his instructions.
He had Angel craft thirty-six tokens and infused each with an anti-counterfeit mark, making them difficult for others to replicate. These tokens were then distributed to select wizards.
Three months later, at the trade fair, only those with the tokens were allowed to participate, while others were turned away.
Furthermore, there was a capital verification process. Without sufficient funds or equivalent items, even those with tokens were denied entry.
Of course, Karl provided certain privileges to those with the tokens, allowing them to leave the Dream Bazaar at any time. He also prepared different passages for each person to ensure they wouldn't be followed or ambushed.
Half a year passed in this manner.
Another seven-day trade fair was about to commence.
"Why?" Evelyn asked, puzzled, as she watched the wizards entering the fair and the merchants vying to purchase the tokens at high prices.
Why were they willing to spend money and compete for entry?
In a quiet room, Soul Wizard Albert bowed respectfully, "Mr. Conn, thank you for saving my wife. If there's anything you need in the future, please don't hesitate to ask."
"You're too kind," Karl said, gesturing for him to sit.
"How is Miss Mammon doing now?"
Albert's expression turned slightly somber, "Not well... I plan to ask a Second Circle Life Wizard to recreate her body, but she refuses."
Recreating a body was no easy task. The required resources and the involvement of a Second Circle Wizard would undoubtedly leave Albert penniless.
Moreover, the recreated body would only be that of an ordinary human, incapable of possessing wizardry talents, and even their lifespan would be limited.
It was akin to finding a doll for Mammon to possess.
It was understandable that Mammon wouldn't agree to spending her entire life's savings on a body that wouldn't last long.
"She wants to turn herself into a puppet, so her consciousness can still exist for a while and be with me..." Albert's voice carried a hint of sadness, but he stopped short of saying more.
There were many ways to refine a soul into a heritage magic tool, like the woman in the painting that Karl held.
However, soul extraction from the body was far beyond the capabilities of a First Circle Wizard.
Over time, the memories within the soul would gradually erode, eventually leaving behind a 'Mind Core' that only obeyed commands.
In any case, neither option was ideal.
"Take it in stride," Karl offered a perfunctory comfort before changing the subject, "You said you have a lead on what I'm looking for?"
"Yes," Albert nodded.
"I know a Second Rank Barrier Wizard who specializes in concealing auras and sealing various artifacts. His talismans once helped a wizard escape from the clutches of a Third Rank Evil Deity's heir."
"But that talisman wasn't his most prized creation."
"Oh!" Karl's eyes lit up, "Where is he?"
"He was helping the Green Family explore a demiplane and has just returned," Albert explained. "I've informed him, and he'll be here soon."
Karl smiled awkwardly, "Albert, do you know why I want to conceal my aura?"
"Why?"
"To hide the Green Family's aura on me."
"..." Albert's expression stiffened.
"Never mind," Karl sighed, "Did he agree to come for the trade?"
"He agreed readily when he heard it was you," Albert pursed his lips, "There might be a problem."
